What are the Cubase 13 Features you like most? Are planning on upgrading? Let me know!
Nice overview. For how long have you been sitting on this due to NDA? :D
I've just upgraded,
working my way through it,
BUT, at this very moment the single thing that has made me ecstatic (no laughing 😉 ) , in the new mixer as I was selecting what I wanted to see in I noticed you can now include the 'notepad' in the strip and edit it directly , a daft wee addition but it's made my day ........ 🤣
The thing I am most unhappy about Cubase 12 is that when you are scrolling with the mouse wheel trough a project you can change the levels of your tracks and not even know what happened until you play the song and notice something is off. Did they fix this?
new compressors and eqs, iconica instruments, vocoder, sampler track revamp
yeah, definitely worth upgrading like NOW
@@xicoamc I've never suffered from it, first time I've heard of the issue. Did you open a support ticket ?
Clearly explained - really enjoyed the tutorial. Thanks for the tutorial. Have a Blessed day!😇
Thank you for this video, Chris. I will upgrade, for sure. Have a great weekend!
Love this! Have to wait for Nuendo 13, can’t wait!
I love the new appearance of the mix console. Those new String sounds in Halion are also incredible!
Very good presentation. Thank you very much. And, Merry Christmas!
I have updated Cubase 12 to Cubase 13 and its awesome! You have earned yourself a subscriber!
Yeah, I’ll be getting it
Great video Chris. a) I love the change the made visually. I can spend hours without my eyes getting tired. b) I love Transport. c) The Enhanced MIDI Editor is a life saver!
14:50 my favourite new feature, I always start recording just to input a new chord. So far the new features where a bit underwhelming, but now it gets better. the new GUI has to grow on me. Great video, very nice and detailed job like we are used to from Chris. Thanx
Purchased and already used in a new project. 🙂Great video to understand the main upgrades. Thanks, Chris.
My dream comes true for many features out there specially the key editor & it's range selection tool.
Thanks bro , keep it up and wish you all the best.
Thank you so much, as always, for sharing all this info. It is all very useful and I've just upgraded 🎉
Impressive wow! So many useful features, the MIDI looks very advanced. Cubase13 looks so powerful and advanced compared to most DAW’s. I won’t it bad!
Chris, as usual a very clear and calm explanation of the new Cubase 13 features. My gratitude is great.
The Import from other projects.... functionality you mentioned exists as early as 11. You can select existing tracks to import straight to. The problem with that feature is it still doesn't let you import multi-out VST instruments in full.
Hi Chris. Great news indeed. Upgrade from pro 12 just £85 here in uk
THanks for the video Chris. I had no issues with 12 PRO on my Windows laptop (I had minor issues with prior versions), just bought the upgrade.
Thanks Chris, for the quick rundown of the new features. I just got finished installing the upgrade this evening and am looking forward to getting started. AND with UAD now at v11 and VST3 I can also get Cubase out of Rosetta - although the new plugins will need to be explored. Seems like the biggest update though was almost forgotten, just a casual mention near the end and I hadn't actually heard it anywhere else - MIDI 2.0! I think that alone could open up seemingly endless creative possibilities in the near future! Glad to see that :)
Always appreciate your videos, thx for sharing ! Must check out out new features, then decide if it's worth upgrading (for me) from 12 Professional
I just upgraded to 13 but I haven't set it up yet Chris but what I know I like is accessing the channel strip from the project window! I'm alway clicking on the E button in the channel browser to get it in the project window! My final mixes are done in the full mixer view!
Upgraded. Thanks for the video. I actually like quite a number of these new features, it is difficult to pick a favorite.
definitely upgrading on payday. Love the new layout and love to stay current
Awesome Chris! Thank you!
Of course!
Thanks Chris. I really like the look of this. I'm on Cubase 12 Pro and will definitely be upgrading to 13. Cheers.
Enjoy!
Merci pour ton retour Chris, je pense upgrader effectivement. Plein de petites fonctions devenues plus intuitives et plus directes. Et ça c'est cool !
Wry nice update! Straight to the workflow! (what takes the most time)
I was expecting group folder to be introduced or improved the old folder so it could be processed! Better routing options would be also grate, dual mono, and Sandboxing
I just installed it. Thought I'd look to your site for your take on it and a quick list of 'must have' features. Thanks for the great video.
excellente présentation Chris. oui je le veux!!
Hi Chris,
This version of Cubase is really amazing ! I will upgrade it very soon ! especially for the version of Iconica wich is very usefull in my case . .. Thanks a lot for your work and take care of you
Great video Chris, thank you for this presentation! I like the Black valve comp but I can't say I'm a fan of the new UI design though. As an orchestral composer, the new Note Editor may be handy but definitely not a game changer in term of workflow.
Not liking the UI either
Thank Chris. I will upgrade. The vox channel looks wonderful.
Great video! Thank you! It's good to know Cubase finally has features Studio One added 5 years ago.
Decided to upgrade from 12 pro after watching your video. The upgrade price seemed fair. Hoping you will be adding new material to your Cubase classes/courses. They have been educational and inspiring. Thank you
Great video Chris! Always learning a lot! Upgraded from 12 Pro today. Hoping on a fast update so it supports MacOs Sonoma. My 12 Pro hanged a lot at loading projects and the first release of 13 does that as well. But overall Cubase still rocks after all these years.
I recall in Cakewalk Sonar that the play head could return to start when the stop spacebar was pressed, or stay at the stop position if Ctrl-Spacebar was used. Or vise-versa depending on the default stop setting. I am surprised Cubase doesn't have a similar feature yet.
Thanks, I like the review so much that I bought the upgrade from version 12......!
Cool new features! I think this one just addressed functionality for me more than whiz bang additions. I've got great plugins already. I hated sliding those tiny little bars around on the side of the tracks lol. Love the new side bar with the fader
Well the new overview look, right off the bat, it looks and feels so much easier to work with. Those plug ins are a nice feature. Chris you always make it seem so easy, I just tippy toe through it and learn the best I can. You amaze me. Well done Chris and thanks for your time and education. Cheers Bruce - p/s YES I will upgrade.
Thanks for the great overview on the Cubase 13 upgrade. 👏🏻
Of course!
Thank you for your video, Chris. Definitelly, upgraded.
Start from the beginning of the event is one of the things I missed from pro tools!! Amazing
Vocoder - enough reason for me to upgrade.. Thank you !
Great video Chris. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ooh I want it!
1) still they got alot to work on improving GUI. 2) a lot of these features ( like mono to stereo track conversion, inspector in the left side ) existed in other DAWs 20 years ago
Yes, I know, that's why I was asking for this one for years, Lol!
@@mixdownonline It looks like we will be waiting for the same amount of time for the group track folder 😅😅😅
That's how Steinaha rolls. Calling it "modern" while looking more basic than the previous. Removing things then reintroducing them as new.... Changing the GUI while leaving the bloated code underneath. - Wow.
This shit looks like a crap I’ll just stuck with logic
Last Cubase version I used was 5
tried out all of them since the first one.
Glad I stopped at 5
Thanks for this Chris!
My pleasure!
You could import just the plugin chain to a track in Cubase 12 FYI. I did it all the time.
I upgraded to Cubase Pro 13 just for the mono/stereo channel configuration option!
Thank you, Chris. I always love your reviews and insights. I like the new transport section the most. There must be more core structure upgrades than just moving things around, a new paint job, and more plugins. Do we really need more plugins these days? I am currently running Cubase 11 Pro. I will give it a more in-depth look, but I doubt I will upgrade.
I know you have used that French vocalist before (20:04), and I wanted to see if it is available for purchase somewhere. I love her voice. I assume you worked on that song.
Thanks for that Chris 👍
You're welcome!
Amazing.. hair looks really good on you Chris
It’s a great upgrade with some much needed polish and workflow refinements.
Honestly, my favorite new features are the far left zone, scroll wheel scroll modifiers, and the quick stereo/mono channel conversion.
Chris. When you boost an eq gain that clips the chain or if your recoding and everything clips right through the plug in chain. Has cubase introduced something like a ctrl+x shortcut to turn off every single clip red light through ever track and plug in with the project... that would be useful so when you play the song from start to finish. You know if a track clipped on the chain rather than checking an eq to may not have used but did clip the chain.... BETTER STILL. cubase should have a show clipped tracks. So yes is there a shortcut to turn off all clips. Cubase 10.5 user and yes at some point I'll update...
Merci Chris ! Great job to show us those new functionnality 🎹☮️
Thank you!
Cool new features... The import tracks from project feat, where you can just drop the inserts on a given track was already possible in cubase 12.
Don't know if they did in this one, but what is most important is that they would improve their stability... too many issues with asio guard, especially on newer intel computers
Love the updates to Sample Track, Key Editor. Range tool is nice but not there yet as Ableton where you can isolate certain notes to repeat and still no stretch notes in key editor. Love the new inspectors.Missing recent files reset, m4a import, more advanced freeze features, folders as bus option, better track preset managment with drag and drop to browser to save like in Studio One. Currently it is a hassle.
Bonne démonstration, merci Chris! Je suis content que le prix du upgrade demeure le même à travers les années!
Thanks, bro! C'est bon de garder le prix des upgrade abordable
So good!
Very cool video Chris, thanks for sharing the new features. I love that they've finally allowed a channel to be changed from mono to stereo and from what I believe you said from stereo to mono. Has there been any change as to how to use a multi mono plugin on a stereo bus without having to do some kind of workaround such as the video on your channel on how to do that? Multi mono is significant in terms of compression. You don't want something needing compressed on the left to also compress the right unnecessarily. I'm not sure how Cubase has had this issue for so many years and hasn't addressed it. I hope they got it right on this one. This would be a reason to upgrade!!! As said in other comments, this looks more like a .5 version change rather than a major version change. I will upgrade but I'm not really an early adopter as there are usually bugs in the initial release and I'll wait and see how that goes before upgrading. Besides, I'm in the middle of mixing a couple projects right now and wouldn't want to switch in the middle of a project. Thanks Chris!!! 😎🎶
Some really useful features and plugins! I would still like to see an update of the VST Amp Rack as guitar amp modeling has progressed light years since this plugin was implemented.
cubase is love
The mono/stereo switch is an excellent idea, as are the key editor improvements. Would like to have seen more enhancements on the MIDI remote control, which is a fantastic feature but could use 1) some usability tweaks, and 2) way more pre-written scripts (which could be donated by users as long as they could still be editable). I'm sure most people would be happy to contribute. I know I would. How about a utility that would test 3rd party plugins to make sure they are robust and won't crash Cubase? Or maybe something that would catch a crash in-process and isolate the plugin to avoid a major crash.
Very unspectacular features. I think I'm going to wait with the upgrade until the first discount is available.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's always good to weigh the pros and cons before upgrading to a new version
There is usually a sale on upgrades 6-9 months after the new release.
mixconsole looks like studio one, nice! great midi changes! I got it! iconica 😊 and new midi features 😊
done.. Iconica pushed me to do that.. also the track configuration i like a lot.. but i didn't know the oldie but goldie vocoder.. nice surprise :)
i appreciate your detailed explanations. hoping that steinberg someday will incorporate options to do parallel processing inside one audio channel (like audio effect racks in ableton or patcher from fl studio) without having to route the audio to separate bus channels and bringing them back together
The king of DAW's finally here🔥🔥🔥
The mixer is now similar to Studio One :)
I know what you mean ;-)
@@mixdownonline 😉 it's not bad, I use both of them and both are great 😁
Thanks for the great introduction and run thro
Of course!
Okay finally had a few solid days to dive into 13 from 11. What an amazing update. Truly, I don’t think you need to go outside the Cubase environment anymore all the plug-ins, the channel strips, vocoder and vocal chain, the beautiful layout, the mix console, all the routing everything is on point my favourite new tool is to utilize some of the new features in chord track, I felt I always get stuck with chord progression and arrangement but now, with the new ease of use on how to choose chords, it really seemed to speed up the workflow. Thanks for all your great work I’ve been watching your channel for a long time! happy holidays to you and the family😊
Thank you Chris. Seems the Gui is much faster as well 🤔
Thanks Chris - great as ever 👍🏻
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Wooow...thx..
An update that's primarily focused on refinement with voices and some more usable gimmicks they could have added a while ago. Those musical EQ tweaks add a nice touch, and it's great that they've included a vocoder, though I was expecting more AI advancements, particularly with voice cloning and stem separation.
I feel like those might be awaiting for us in future 13 updates.
Its beautiful
When it comes to reviewing Cubase and new updates , no can can beat Mr. Selim.
1:42 Finally
11:35 Great feature to fix range related issues
grate stuff...
I think it's important to keep upto date with the latest versions , however I appreciate that is not always financially viable for many. I will be up-grading so thanks again Chris for the insight to the Cubase 13 and as usual a very informative and well presented video brother. 🙏
Amazing.. i love cubase, i'm from cubase 5
Hi Chris,
Glad to see that the new Cubase version released. I have been using Cubase for more than 14 years and I loved every updates. However I found that the previous versions were CPU heavy and may be that the GUI is heavy but it seems that version 13 looks like Studio One and I guess the execution speed has been improved. Have you noticed anything? Grateful for your thought. Happy Cubasing!!!
20 yr Cubase user… always stayed loyal and absolutely loved C12’s feature set… but I think there was an issue in my upgrade from the previous version to 12 which causes the software to crash and or lock up constantly. I even invested in a Modular rack so that I’m not running a ton of heavy cpu eating v synths but that has no effect on this freezing. I’ve coped with it and will probably just upgrade to 13 but this is the closest I’ve been to changing DAWs in 20 years than I’ve ever been.
I share your disappointment with c13. Nothing but eye candy and a few VSTs of no interest here. One thing you could try is erase C12 and C 13 5en restart then load C13 only.
I've had zero issues with Cubase 10, 10.5, 11 and 12 on Windows 10. Do you have an NVidia graphics card by chance? I've heard of them having issues depending on the drivers. I'm just using an old UR22 Mk II at home and on my laptop I don't even use an Interface (Just ASIO4All or the generic Driver depending on my headphones).
Chris, I've been thinking about that Tegeler you always talk about. Can you do something where you show how you route it out and back into cubase?
Amazing 👏 💪💪💪🎉👍👍👍
Damn, now I see studio one is ahead.
Thanks Chris, have you noticed improvements in resource use e.g. performance meter lower than on 12? Less ASIO guard peaks?
Performance is pretty bad here compared to 12. Back to CPU spikes again
CPU Spikes at less than 1/3 CPU load is back and the drop outs are everywhere. Piss poor performance on an M1 Studio Max 64Gb.
Wow just joined the Cubase…and already going 13….can’t wait to try it out!!
You'll love it!
New key editor looks amazing
Interesting stuff. The channel configuration (changing a mono to a stereo track) would be very useful for me. But it seems like the only new big feature to me that I need. € 100,- seems a bit too much for this upgrade.
Finally !! mono/stereo switch !! 2h saved from every mix ;P ;) The first and most important reason to make an update!! :)
I like it all
Thanks Chris, i just try to find where the preference of return to start position😂🙏
Im still running 10.5 PRO, it never crashed on me and im so used to it that i wont upgrade it for now. Maybe next year or when they add more live playing and looping options 😎
Yes, always upgrade if it fits your needs :-)
I also want live looping and live performance features in cubase, but C13 seems like a big upgrade already so a no brainer over here.
The thing with the live options stuff is that steingberg as a company has always categorize each product by its function. Wavelab for Mastering, Cubase pro for production and recording, Dorico for music scoring and VST Live for...live purposes. With all that said, the most probably thing to happen is that they will improve vst live for what you need and not cubase.
i have no problem with update just saying im gonna stay on 10.5 still cuz i love it and i like dongle and it never crashed ever on me.@@deherrera94
It reminds me of Studio One a little bit. Especially the mixer view.
Bought the upgrade under Easter discount and immediately came here hahahaha thx buddy ❤
Thx for this video! Are there any updates in the area of Audio to MIDI, VariAudio? Anything to identify separate instruments in a track (for stems)?
Hi Chris. Thanks for the demo. But does this new Cubase 13 have reverb for Atmos Mixing format
Hi Chris, great video! Some good new features that i am looking forward to, especially the Iconica Sketch library? Have to say though that i am unsure of which to go for? Whether to go for just the update or the full upgrade, and when i have done this before, i have had slight problems getting my projects into the new version? Any advice or thoughts would be helpful? If and when i go for it, i would like it to be as painless as possible!!!! Also, is buying through the Steinberg shop operating the same as before, as they had to find another company to run the shop on their behalf????? Thanks again for the video Chris!!!! Love your videos and your Cubase course!!!!!!!!!
think so... the Vocalcomp reminds me of the R Vox known by Wa... :) awesome ne stuff. Hope ypu will increase your Cubase Guide Video
Oh my God, I love REAPER! 😂
