For some reason the fact that father Josiah laughs at his own stories makes listening to him a joy. Anyone else?
Orthodox for 3 years and a deep trial, sometimes i feel despair but i haven't given up yet, where would I go? I'm grateful to Christ the church ,my priests and deacons and my friends for keeping me going. Bishop Irenei also wrote a book on suffering called "strength in weakness" that i recommend to everyone.
Jesus didn't come to end suffering but to show us how to suffer!
My dad thanked the lord for the struggle against the cancer that took him. True story. Lord be praised.
Even though I am not an orthodox or catholic, I just want to say that I am deeply enriched by your videos. I appreciate so much depth from your orthodox priests. So much wisdom. Thank you for these uploads.
I suffered a lot the last year and a half. And I finally found God at the end of it. I am saved. It was for God’s reason
Father Josiah, isn't that abusive? The painful discipline... imposition... whatever you want to call it, of a God who's intent to hurt you immensely so you can love him and thank you for it? No matter how many times I hear it or read it, the insistence of pain on the children of God sounds a bit unhinged and definitely scary. He is the God of the universe and there's nothing you can do about it. He will hurt you on purpose and we're to be grateful? I think Mother Teresa was quoted to say, "If God treats his friends like this, it is no wonder our Lord has so few of them." And......I'm want to agree with her! Help us understand, Father.
As one who has lived with chronic pain of several kinds for some time, this is very encouraging to me! Keeping it for future pain "episodes"! 😉🙏🕯️☦️
""why does God CAUSE this pain"" Sounds like God is evil
As a professional bodybuilder and athlete the metaphors hit hard and deep. Thank you father! I have this on repeat today. Deeply edifying...
