The Town of Bedford covers over 8 square miles with a population of just under 7,000. It was an independent city until 2013 when it became a town and is the county seat of Bedford County.
Bedford is nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains between Roanoke and Lynchburg and is home to the National D-Day Memorial. Smith Mountain Lake sits just 23 miles to the south of the town.
