Testing Monowalker hiking trailer with my packraft

  • Monowalker hiking trailer fits nicely with my Denali Llama packraft. Last summer I had hard time carrying my 35 kg backpack. Packraft, life jacket and paddle are less than 4 kg, but that extra weight is sometimes too much. I had found out about the hiking trailer several years ago, but now I had a good reason to try it. So far it seems to be a solution to my problem. I'm going to test it in wilderness gonditions next summer in Swedish Lapland.

One noted that the packraft drifted less off course when the wheel was in the water ! Great video ! Thank you very much !

This is how Frank Morris escaped from Alacatraz to great freedom. Once free, the escape convixt merely continued his pack rafting journey through the great American Rockies until he ran out of supplies. Then he became DB Cooper, hijacked a plane to help refurnish supplies ... then after parachuting from airliner to his packraft ... resumed his illustrious backpacking adventures while eluding capture. Very ingenious.

I like the mono walker. Fits nicely on the packraft. I have ordered the new Expedition packraft from Aquaglide but it is much heavier than the raft you use, so looking into options of carrying it.

Great idea, pondering how to get into some of my remote rivers I fish here in the N.Western Washington State USA. I've thought of Alps Commander Freighter frame pack but you've made me reconsider the idea. Most of what I would be traveling would be fairly good ground so the monowalker might be easier on the body, being a person of age and back surgeries less weight on the back and more on the legs and hips might be better. Thanks for your vids and time making this information available for viewers. Cheers Chuck.

when you walk with 35kg on the hiking trailer do you need to use your hands or can the harness hold it? i mean, can you use hiking poles at the same time your using the monowalker, or is it to unstable when you dont hold it?
    really nice video

On rough ground I must hold the handles and on easy ground occasionally. I don't think hiking poles can be used.

Mads Hasseris Olesen i backpack frequently & cant decide if I want to try poles. I feel like I would end up carrying them & not using them. Any thoughts? I know people incorporate them into there tent/shelter but I don't need to do that. Do u think they help?

слабовата систеа: чуть больше груза и не утянешь.... чуть заросшее тропа и не пройдешь. Выво д - телега только для европейских прогулок, но там я и с 10 кг пройду и проживу и буду более мобильный на двух ногах.
