Ferrata Formenton (Tofana di Mezzo - Tofana di Dentro - Ra Valles)

A beautiful hike traversing through two of the three peaks in the Gruppo delle Tofane. Calling it Formenton via ferrata is a misnomer though, as it doesn't reach the summit of Formenton and doesn't involve serious climbing except maybe the south face of Tofana di Dentro. But as a hiking trail it's quite steep and rough at times.
Taking advantage of Freccia nel Cielo cable car, I left my backpack at Ra Valles and made the loop with only a light daypack. First up is Tofana di Mezzo. At 3244m it's the highest in the group but also the most crowded as the cable car makes summiting an easy 15 min walk. The tourists were gone once I dropped below the ridge for the cable assisted sections. It was a warm and sunny day with unobstructed 360-degree view most of the way. What a hike!
