The PS22 Chorus of 2009 has some fun with Coldplay's Grammy nominated song Viva La Vida, the amazing new hit single from the album of the same name. Hope it sweeps the Grammies! I love watching them sing this one, and it has kind of a different sound and feel on the guitar than the previously posted piano and acapella versions, so I thought it merited CZcamsage.... :)
April sings the solo and sounds better than ever on this one.
The PS22 Chorus consists of about 60 fifth graders and have sung with Tori Amos, Crowded House, among many others. Visit our above website to find out more about these amazing New York City public school kids.

I'm a musician and I come back to this vid and others of Greg and others of PS22 to experience of the way these beautiful children connect so completely and joyfully with the music they sing. It's thrilling to me and a reminder that this is what music is all about.
I have and will continue to come back to this masterpiece.
Being the son of a music professor and having seen the positive effects music can have on the many aspects of the lives of children, this video brought tears to my eyes.

viva la vida has been my favorite song since Coldplay premiered in on their itunes commercial and fully on the MTV Awards years ago. This is probably the happiest thing I have ever seen.
For some reason I can't explain....this song gets me Every time and choosy be back to history.

This came out when I was in the fifth grade. I remember watching it and feeling like the kids in the video were my friends because I also loved music and went to an intercity public school. Over the years I've watched PS22 chorus videos whenever I felt down and they always brought me back up. Keep creating inspirational work, Mr. B!

I love how some of kids are so filled with feeling for what they're doing that their eyebrows and faces are furrowed with passion. The teacher didn't tell them to act like that - the teacher showed them how music can make you feel, make you move, make you be - and the kids sang and those emotions came through. Anyone who wants to argue that arts education is a waste of time and money should watch the work of the kids of PS22 and then see if they can make their same claims. Excellent work, PS22!

music is what brings people together, despite race, ethnicity or religion this is what give me faith in humanity

It's so inspiring to see how passionate year kids are. This is why we need arts in schools!
How can anyone dislike this? They're doing whats right in this world! Enjoying themselves and just being innocent. Sometimes I think kids would do a better job of ruling this world then adults ever could be.

so sweet I remember having to sing in choir at school. It helped bring fun to the school environment when we sang songs that weren't in the hymnal.For those that disliked children I'm sure if you had any we would dislike yours. LOL their KIDS!!! I remember being a child once what about you???

people like this teacher are the reason i love music! as a product of the NY/NJ public school system, it BROKE MY HEART to still be young when they started cutting funding from music programs across america. i USED TO PLAY three instruments! (violin, cello, and clarinet) by the second grade, i had solos and could play by ear and read music. i am now 20 years old... i no longer remember how to play. it makes me so sad! but you're bringing the joy of music BACK to public schools. GOD BLESS YOU!

I just rewatched this for the first time in 6 years...and I'm a mother now. I can only hope that my baby son can find the path of music (should he choose) through someone as inspiring as you. The passion these children exhibit is inspiring and the soloist is to-die-for beautiful. Well done with our future thinkers, leaders and musicians.
