Bloody roar 2 goodness
Yes sir!!
I love the story of how they were putting the band together and they had Koji, Soken and GUNN (that's his pseudonym). GUNN had a bunch of friends in the rock scene so Soken asked him if he knew any experienced players who focused on passion over technical ability that they could invite into the band and GUNN's response was “You mean they don’t need to be young? I’m in touch with tons of people like that,” and that's how we got the primals. A bunch of really passionate old rockers and we love 'em.
Hell yeah we love 'em.
I love how every time i check the comments on these videos I learn something new. Thanks!
This is so wholesome
Just seeing Koji as a middle aged balding man up on stage fucking rocking out is the best thing ever. Man started as a english teacher in Japan to ending up here, fucking incredible.
Imagine what it must be like to be one of his old student. XD
My favorite part about the Primals performing this song is the fact that they're all enthusiastically rocking out while singing in Gobbie Speak.
When FF14 Devs are so metal they ACTUALLY have a metal band !
And when they actually do more than just novelty one-off songs. No, they're mostly responsible for some of the most memorable in-game soundtracks.
Of you want to hear a Soken masterpiece, then you have to listen to his LA HE Version from the online fan fest in 2021.
Its awesome, but please listen to the original (in game version) too before. XD
@@zeev55 this. to truly get the full effect. it's like hearing a song played poorly on the kazoo, you need to know the original to fully get the joke
Soken doing everything is somehow such a meme now during Fan Festivals xD There's one FanFest where he plays three ... "instruments" at the same time :D
But yes, the Primals rocking out in suits is such a move, I love it! (The main singer is Koji Fox, the main translator/localizer for both the story, lore and lyrics)
Never forget his greatest instrument: The box.
@@InsanityReborn You mean the otamatone?
@@CrystVeno
No... The Box ...
czcams.com/video/XlQZaDIAdYk/video.html
@@jmstover This guy knows.
It's insane that Soken's able to get the practice in to do stuff like this while also pumping out like 10 songs a month on average for nearly 10 years straight now.
On top of going through chemo, the dude's a gift from the heavens.
It's honestly concerning, but far be it from me to criticize that man's passion.
@@cryw1092 His work is what allowed him to get through chemo. He said as much himself. If he would have just lied in the hospital bed doing nothing he would not have been able to recover like he did. His work and composing took his mind off of all the pain and other miserable bullshit that comes with spending months in a hospital.
@@MrKnaives he's got us all tempered
Holy shit I did not know Soken could play the trumpet like that what a god.
The dudes a musical god. He can probably pick up any instrument and probably be able to play at an intermediate level
It pales in comparison to his dual wielding Otamatone technique
Dude brought a cardboard box on stage during a fan fest lol. Nothing can stop that man
The fact that they're smashing it out and going full ham on stage, but the lyrics is (imo) cute gobbie/goblin accent still cracks me up.
The singer is Michael Christopher "Koji" Fox he is the English translation lead for FFXIV and he writes all the English lyrics for the songs.
Actually Koji is one of his two legal middle names given to him by his father, so there's no need to use quotation marks
I love that dude so much!
Koji is actually what his parents and all of his friends call him.
@@MrKnaives Fox is his last name. His legal name is Michael-Christopher Koji Fox.
@@unlikelyraven7374 To add, it's only a middle name because his grandparents didn't want him to be named Koji Christopher Fox. At home he was always called Koji so it's a middle name in, pardon the pun, name only.
This version of the song plays during "The Epic of Alexander" the ultimate version of the Alexander raid. Certainly gave me a shock hearing it when the phase transitioned
I highly suggest you to watch the full concert from Fanfest 2021. Such energy, performing without the crowd just because of Covid but they gave it 120%. This is not a request. Just a recommend from a music fan for a music fan.
I can't! Could potentially hear an upcoming request! The downside to this channel
@@JessesAuditorium oh sh!t you're right. I guess you could only do it after being done with all 14 requests up until Shadowbringers....which is a lot
Well time to save up so I can make a request big enough to request the entire Fanfest 2021
The vocalist is the head of the game's localization team. So there's a lot of synergy going on with all these lyrics and translations and stuff.
You know it took a massive amount of work to rework the arrangement for a live performance. Making a song that's meant to loop throughout a boss encounter is one thing. Taking that loop and chopping it up, rearranging it, practicing it, and executing it is SUCH an endeavor, and these guys are all bosses for pulling it off.
In FF14 they chose to use these live faster versions of Locus, Metal - Brute Justice Mode, etc for the Ultimate version of these fights. The Ultimate versions are boss gauntlets where you fight 2-5 iconic bosses from a certain part of the game (in this case the Alexander raids) in a chain, complete with remixed music in a faster paced, extremely difficult encounter that lasts 15-25 minutes, and one mistake can kill the entire group. I could do this fight over and over for hours (which is generally necessary to learn these Ultimate fights), just turning up the music and listening as I play.
I was once on the concert of Final Fantasy music by Distant Worlds.
Now due to pandemic, I cannot go for next one (in April in Berlin) for travelling reasons.
But in upcoming years, you will definitely see me on The Primals Live concert/Fan Festival maybe :)
Man, it's such a banger they have their own band
I'm jealous of Soken's lungs, between the trumpet and singing, that's some impressive stuff.
I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing Koji Fox, the FF14 Localization Lead, being the singer in a band.
The real insanity with this song (and their rendition of Rise) is that one of the game's most difficult boss fights (The Epic of Alexander, aka TEA), features those songs, and not only that, but the fight itself is timed to the beats of the music. There's a section of Rise that plays when the Wormhole Formation mechanic is going on, and with this song (which plays during phase 2 of the fight as you battle Brute Justice and Cruise Chaser simultaneously), the bass drum hit at 3:37 is synced up to BJ's Double Rocket Punch tankbuster attack. The songs are arranged a wee bit different to fit the fights, but they do so perfectly. :)
Soken is so talented. He can play a lot of instruments and sing and his composition talent is nuts. I'm always in awe of his ability
Fanfest performances are a beast of another nature to witness. They are so magical with all the energy the Primals bring mixed with the love and passion of the fans in the crowd. I can't wait to attend once they bring them back!
You allways know you in for a good time when Soken pulls out his trumpet
Christopher Michael Koji Fox rocking the synthetic vocals here. Hes the English localization lead for FFXIV. Love the whole dev team.
There was a stream the other day where Soken took the filter off from Koji's lyrics and it sounded so funny lmao, they are all so talented
Yaaaaasssss! I mentioned listening to this in the Brute Justice reaction. So glad you got the chance to check it out Jesse! It’s soooo good!
*the Ska part is what made me love this version lol
The singer for the Primals live here is Michael Christopher Koji Fox - the guy who writes the English lyrics for all the XIV songs, and is the lead English localiser for the game. Jason Charles Miller was the pre-recorded one in the other live reaction you did.
My favorite part in hearing the live version of Brute Justice is hearing Soken go between the background chorus and the trumpet solo. Multitasking indeed! 🙌
not sure if this was pointed out that singer, is the games lead english translator , helps make lore for the game, writes the english lyrics for songs, probably a few more things we dont know about
Caught your video premiere this time! Was a blast talking to you in the comments. Will try to make the next batch as well.
Thanks!
I think we should all collectively work to convince Jesse that the robot voice is Koji's natural voice.
Oh right. Also, the singer there is Michael Christpher Koji Fox. Jason Charles Miller has a beard XD You've seen him in the other live performance I believe you watched. I remember commenting about him.
Theres a pvp instance called Rival Wings that allows you to ride a brute justice mech which plays this when you mount up. Cant tell ya how many times I've died from just rocking out and not paying attention to anything lmao.
There's _never_ too much Brute Justice
It's actually a music video, the music itself is pre-recorded and not live on this version. You can see a live version though since they recorded their entire Fanfest 2021 concert and they played this as part of the concert.
Soken's band is pretty great. Oftentimes, with FFXIV music, there are two versions - an in-game variant, and a Primals cover/remix. Generally, I far prefer the remixes that the Primals put together - the official "Primals" version of Shadowbringers and A Long Fall come to mind.
for PRIMALS renditions of songs, i recommend you check out Under the Weight. not only is the song good in general, but in the 2021 version at least, Naoki Yoshida the director and producer (and savior) of ffxiv makes an appearance to sing.
You heard the normal version of the fight, a one-off boss in the Alexander raid. And it's a kickass fight, of course it is. With that BGM it's near impossible to not have fun and that's BEFORE taking into account it goes full Transformers x Power Rangers on your ass.
This is from the Ultimate version; basically a 20-minute long gauntlet of ALL the main Alexander bosses jacked up to a thousand and out to murder your ass. Way more happening.
And naturally, way more epic.
Hence; music. Anytime you're looking at something from The Primals- it's USUALLY a remix of the same song by the band, and there's a 50/50 chance there's a new fight to it. So.. keep an eye out when you're finding these.
I'd love to request one of my favorite songs in the game for a reaction, Ultima Weapon's theme from The Weapon's Refrain (Ultimate). It's an orchrestral rendition of another song in the game but I feel like this rendition serves it justice way more. Either way, love your videos!
Coming very very soon
the Primals have a full album, with many of them having live performances, i think the most hype one was RISE, i believe it followed Brute justice mode in the live show too.
I mean, if you want something TRUELY epic, try LA HEE - Soken Edition. The rawest live rendition you will ever find.
the main singer is koji fox, hes the lead singer for the primals as well as being a translator for ffxiv, hes a really cool dude and yes he does play the game he works on
That was fun. I do play the game and that is one of my favorite songs. It is also one of two fights my FC didn't tell me the mechanics. I hate going in blind but there are no guides to it either. Go in and have fun
Yo so next you gotta do Rise right? Both normal and Primal versions are pretty cool and different enough (maybe a back to back)
Second this idea.
coming - primals ver
Can we talk about how Koji Fox, the writer of Lyrics, sings for the Primals too!??!? :D
The best part of this version of the song, is that in the ultimate version of the alexander raid, during brute justice's phase this version plays instead.
Defenitely check the full concert
HOLD UP BLOODY ROAR 2 BACKGROUND MUSIC???? Hell yeahhhh!! That game had such an epic track~
My top 5 OSTs of all time
Would just like to say that this song plays instead of the normal brute justice mode song in the Ultimate version of the Alexander raid.
Ultimates are like, the highest, hardest content in the game, and all of them has their own version of songs you've heard previously, made specifically just for the ultimate. You should go ahead and give them a listen, the one with most unique tracks is the UWU bgm though.
This song plays during one of the hardest phases in one of the hardest fights in the game. It's very hard to pay attention to what you have to do during it because you cannot suppress the urge to JAM.
Oh if you can find the version of Amatsu Kaze by The Primals, that has a Very Special Guest, the game director Naoki Yosihda sings on it.
【FF14】『彩られし山麓 〜高地ドラヴァニア:昼〜/Painted Foothills』Orchestra Concert 2017 -Eorzean Symphony- 【OTS- czcams.com/video/dMt-Dzcpqxw/video.html is my fav ffxiv song
Maaan, I miss seeing them live at Fanfest!
These guys are just jammin
There are times where The Primals' version of songs actually get used in the game.
In fact, this version of Brute Justice Mode was used in the last Ultimate Raid, The Epic of Alexander.
The Primals’ version of Locus, Brute Justice and Rise are all in the Ultimate raid. Locus also appears on the Tycoon boss fight in the Twinning
that's the genius of soken, the original is fitting perfect to the rythm of the fight, while what they played live, is more interesting from an entertainment perspective
still on my binge through your XIV reactions (will check out other songs/games afterwards) and I just looked and apparently you haven't yet watched "RISE", which is kind of the finale of the Locus -> Metal -> Brute Justice saga. And while I'd believe it has been requested already, I still have to reiterate it ;) It's amazing
"normal" - aka in game - version: czcams.com/video/ZoHo_Sju-X0/video.html
The Pulse Remix: czcams.com/video/ZGaq09a6wZM/video.html
Live at the Korean digital FanFest this year: czcams.com/video/Y548jnER95E/video.html
The Primals's official version: czcams.com/video/oauyStJPNhQ/video.html
This is part of one of the hardest fights in FF14. It takes some groups months to actually get through that part of the fight
As a ff14 player I really appreciate this a lot XD
Look at Koji go!🔥🔥🔥
Damn, why didn't we get this version?
Has anyone shown Jesse the official ffxiv Stratocaster they’re releasing !
It’s a bit slower but Oblivion-Never let it go version is pretty good
The remix makes it sound like a Tokusatsu song.
yup higher "tempered" it is :P
I'm so excited for this one! The Primals' live performances are so great.
If I could have my own boss theme, this would be it, or perhaps Soken can make one for me. ☺️
The tempo was from playing live.
The Primals version is a bit different to the original one because it rhymes with the raid tempo which is why. Like if the song close to an end means the bosses (2 bosses in 1 raid) kill all the players
I think the best term I can use for Soken is that he is a Swiss Army Musician lol
All of the Primals versions are worth a listen
BR2 credits song kreygasm
Just want to throw this out there since you've now listened to The Primal's, Soken's band, by recommending The Black Mages, Nobuo Uematsu's band.
Have some coming from that band
@@JessesAuditorium Sweet. I've seen The Black Mages live a few years ago and they were fantastic. I hope to one day see The Primals live as well but who knows if that will ever be possible.
Let expanse contract, eon become instant. Throw wide the gates, that we may pass. Should be The Primals intro heh
Ah, but do you know La Hee?
And that is FF14 devs there. Now find any other game that has devs doing so much for their game.
Oh different versions eh? How about lahee raktika great wood theme and the fanfest 2021 live lahee feat soken on otamatones (smh) and a long fall the twinning theme and fanfest 2021 primals a long fall feat dancing developers.
I always felt like this version of the song was too fast-paced and it just kills it for me.
i think they are just lipsyncing as none of them can actually sing for real... while the vocals were done by koji/soken, soken had to put quite a bit of work in to make it sound right...
this video just slapped prerecorded song
there is actual video of this concert with real performance. you can search it. but ofcourse it would sounds as good as recorded.
If you've heard the live version of Under The Weight you'd realize they really can sing. They wouldn't have gotten away with a pre-recorded version since Koji uses the alternate line "now kneel motherfucker" instead of "now kneel overdweller".
just will be honest, i hate the 'premiere' video stuff, it is such a tease, and a bad kind, i like your video nonetheless, but seeing your vid pop in my subscription just to notice afterward that its not out yet transform my hype to aweful disappointment
You're looking at it from a bad perspective. It's supposed to be an event, not just a video. A premiere is at a set time for everyone who wants and has the time to get together and watch it live, being able to chat to each other and sometimes the creator while it plays. Only reason I don't watch is timezone difference means I'm sleeping, usually.
@@rodrigo2703 exactly and yeah CET fucking sucks to enjoy these videos on premiere, I am NOT a morning person.
@@rodrigo2703 i am not the type to watch along and chat with people, and i dont wanna get up at 3 AM, so thats probably why i hate it xD
@@KwehShiro I can understand that. You still have the option of watching it any time you want though.
