Break Through It All is half-build-up, yes, but when it hits it just KEEPS. FUCKING. GOING. It's SO GOOD
That build up is why it’s my favorite titan theme. The payoff just hits so hard. You feel like you earned that moment!
Break through it all is the best titan theme hands down. Followed by undefeatable and then find your flame. Not saying find your flame is bad, it's more just that the other 2 go so much harder
City Escape is what everyone thinks of when they think of Sonic, but Find Your Flame is what they think of when they think of Super Sonic. Actually, Undefeatable is that song, but it wasn’t on the list. If it was, it would’ve swept

I honestly even don’t mind break through it alls build up i personally love the screamo, heavy guitar riffs, and its long beginning segment makes phase 2 pay off
The build up is a part of what makes Break Through It All so good. You need a climb in order to get the punch , it wouldn't be impactful if it just DOVE into "the good part."
The lyrics and instrumental both depend on that climb! The song is a cry of power , the build up is that power being charged up until it finally unleashes with a mighty bang. It SHOWS how powerful it is after that build up , not to mention just the absolutely insane guitar solo that leads into it.
I like Break Through It All more than Undefeatable. Undefeatable is more iconic , but Break Through It All comes swinging so much harder than it. Not to undersell Undefeatable , as that song is wonderful and absolutely impactful. It was just very upsetting to see it not being appreciated , like damn really outing your attention span there 😭
There's songs with much longer build ups lmao , that's nothing.

I really hate how these ppl just think the first half of break through it all is just filler. Sure, The song peaks halfway through but the first half of the song is still almost at the peak. Theres the guitar solos and the screaming which is just raw asf

The first half is a nice build up, like when you slowly ascending at the beginning of a rollercoaster ride, before it suddenly launch you to pure adrenaline rush in the chorus. The "No more compromise, this is do or die" is chilling.

The frontiers sweep is crazy even against possibly the most iconic sonic song ever. Also side not for break through it all lol johnny doesn't understand build up and payoff. Yeah it takes half the song to get great but the build up to it is well paced and worth it because when the song does drop it solos everything.

One of the many reasons I adore video game music is because you subconsciously link the song to the moments in the game it’s heard. I used to replay the Sonic Heroes final boss over and over again as a kid just so I could hear What I’m Made Of over and over again, and even try to beat the boss in specific points in the song. It’s also why I think Break Through it All is the best vocal track. Wyvern is my favorite boss in the series and it was my favorite moment from Frontiers. I get what the gang was saying about the first part being weaker, but it was by design. When the second part kicked in after the cutscene, I was stunned. One of the best gaming moments I’ve ever experienced and why I think Break Through it All is the best track.

I think that a much better way to go about this is to focus of the actual songs instead of the context around them. A song can be more iconic than another song but does it SOUND better? I'd argue that isn't an automatic yes and depends on the song , and which song it's up against.
So many times , from either someone I **agreed** with or disagreed with on their choice , I heard the context/history of the song being brought up. It's really frustrating cause the history ISN'T the music , pacing , vocals , anything that's ACTUALLY the song. Even if it was an argument FOR the song I picked , I still wouldn't encourage it. There was a few songs that won for the context over songs that deserved better or NEARLY won , and it was just really frustrating to see.
I don't know , that's just me , and either way almost every song from this franchise is amazing in their own ways. A win is a win!
