- Goodbye Earth Ending Explained
In contrast to the conclusions of many other stories, the ending of "Goodbye Earth" doesn't take a shortcut, showcasing the depth of its narrative. The premise revolves around South Korea facing complete destruction by an asteroid within 200 days, a fate that indeed comes to pass for everyone. However, the essence lies not in the inevitability of the outcome, but rather in how individuals utilize their remaining time, as depicted throughout the 12 episodes of this limited series available on Netflix.

I just finished this series, it left with no answers, the couple never truly talk about what they went through. Most of the men were either bad or weak.
Still processing the finale after some minutes of having watched it
Me too, was her husband on the way to her on the bike and started crying when he heard the gun shots or what, I’m so confused 😭😭😭
@@hopefox7691 yes I think he only goes after her but he already knows she is probably dead by then. He only goes there to some how finish the job or try to destroy the ship cause it's "the right thing to do" (?). The irony to me is how the asteroid shows up in the sky at the same time so I think of this like a representation of the whole human spectre happening all the time and even until the very last moment. No matter an asteroid was just about to destroy everything, they just had to do something, their final wish and action before they're gone.
I hate that I wasted my time watching this show. So many ways this could have been really good, and yet… they didn’t choose a single one of those options 😀
Also, I watched the whole series to see the destruction! Total let down.
But was that really what the show was about?
Typical Korean drama
Not only did I shed tears, like rivers of it, but also divested in each character. In the last episode, Ms. Jin is face-to-face with her gun drawn to the trafficker. In-A finding peace with her mother, Woo-sung walks away from the priesthood, and Ha-Yoon rides on his bike with explosives toward the peer.
The goodbye scene with the kids in floating balloons and rooftop farewell of those we loved. I cried through it all. Yet felt utterly empty at not seeing what transpired after. I hoped it was all a miscalculation and the asteroid would miss. The moral of the story is that you're left with the basic human instinct of all whether good or bad. I'm not ok.
@@JLorenzo81 some pple understand it... some dont. its not an epic movie with bruce willis leading a team to blow up the meteor.
i too feel a little sad watching it. no matter what choices we make, it really doesnt matter in the end.
I thought the ending was perfect. It was a human drama. I appreciate a smart drama that lets me fill in with my imagination.
The feeling is mutual
I feel like the ending is too unsatisfying .... Is a season 2 planned? or is this the real end?
I was kind of hoping that the countries would do something to change its trajectory or destroy it halfway through and that the impact would be less dramatic than expected or something.
it's way too ... weird for an ending.
Must have à second round
I really thought the ending was going to be something like The Knowing, where the destruction was showed as well. Where everyone just doesn’t care about anything else and just be in their last moments with their loved ones. But this was something different, and I bawled.
You need to watch Deep Impact at the end of this series to get some closure.
This narration was obviously written by AI…
Too many layers.
Too many directions.
I'm so disappointed with this.
The series should have titled "Reply 2025" instead.
Good song for beginning movie but Boring to watch, no explosion at the end.
I would like this series more if there was an after man world where the surviving humans must live in a new world where Mother Nature rules again
I loved it, I fell in love with all the characters. Beautiful movie
This series did move at a slow pace (I watched much of it at 1.25 speed), and if you want sci fi massive explosion fireball stuff this is not your tv show. It's all about what's happening inside of the characters; how they live and how they prepare to die. The ending leaves the viewer with a lot to think about, and to me that qualifies it as a good ending. It didn't feel good (it was a little unsettling), but it tied up the series in a fitting way. I think that people that say they hated the show or the ending were simply looking for a different type of asteroid disaster film/tv show. Overall it was a good TV show. And, as is typical of Korean TV shows, it is only a one season show. That's intentional.
i wasted my 12 hrs if my life watching this stupid series.the plot is stupid.whirlwind story.
i dont recommend this to my friend.
The whole season is kind of slow, boring, so many many detail that not necessary. I had to try to finish watching from episode 3 onwards because the movie's pace was too slow and I'm not in the habit of leaving a movie halfway, but maybe after this movie I have to trust my own intuition more. The movie is both boring and dragging, and the ending is terrible. This is the second movie that yoo ah in participated in and had such a crazy ending, the first one was fashion king. This actor specializes in choosing bad scripts
The ending sucked the show I feel like could have been a lot better. Guess just wait for an American version if there ever will be one.
American versions of other peoples ideas are trash
we already have that.... the one with ben affleck and bruce willis taking the rocket. LOL
@@zsix6 it’s not the same but I guess I can pretend it is about the same incident lol Greenland may be more similar because it actually hits.
Very disappointing show.. please don’t make a season 2
The problem with this series is that the impending asteroid strike renders most everything occurring in the series meaningless. What is the viewer supposed to care about? The priest stole money? Who cares? They are all going to die. This series put me to sleep, literally, countless times. Couldn't seem to keep my eyes open. The opening song is excellent though.
Same here. I find myself fast forwarding most of the scenes and setting the speed into 1.5x.
I just watched this and i stopped on episode 4. So boring.i expected a lot and ended up disappointed😢
i just stopped at episode 3. so boring and slow. no solid action scene
