Quads are rough on a track, no joke. Those guys are some GOOD riders, and I'll bet they could hop on a bike and smoke me any day. Mad respect to the guys.
John Natalie was a pro dirt bike racer, he is now a pro (championship) atv racer and has said its easier to be fast on a bike than an atv. I dont hate bikes or quads and dont understand why anyone does. be happy to have a motor between your legs
I stay on two wheels, but I gotta say these guys have nuts the size up grapefruits! You wouldn't catch me dead on that track with 500lb quads barreling at/on me
Now that I think about it in my old age I have began rolling the rhythm sections as well! Maybe I should ride a quad and I'll be able to compete on a high level again! LOL
Yeah, they are closer than you would think but it also depends on the track layout. No doubt about it bikes are easier to maneuver around a track and will be faster the more technical the layout, but the pro quad guys are FAST!!! I raced quads for 5-6 years and ran up against some of the top pros during open track events and couldn't believe how fast they were when I thought I was pretty fast lol. I don't want to take anything away from the bike pros either, they are amazing riders!!!
I dont know why your comment got "too many negative notes." I have a yfz450 and a yz250 and I can definitely say that the quad is a lot harder to ride around an mx track. They are more physically demanding because moving around something that heavy takes more muscle than a bike (obviously). And they are also harder on your body, because all four wheels on the ground creates more contact points....its just common sense.
what some people don't understand is the straight axle at the back of the quad makes it throw around on the bumps so much that its so much harder to hold on, and in corners you hang off the side and pull yourself back up instead of hanging by g-force, bumps and jumps are much harder on quads than dirtbikes, dirtbikes is more about ballance and core work
It would also help if I add the fact that ATV's have 4 different classes. These A, B, C, and D classes. These could be D or C class quads. I race in the A class with my KFX, which has a pro circuit built motor, new sprocket, new spun aluminum wheels, a lighter tube aluminum chassi, Maxxis Razr Cross tires, and many other things that brings my quad up to a solid 82 bhp.
They are 10x harder than a bike to ride a. because they weigh twice as more, making it TWICE as more hard to adjust it in the air if you fuck up on the take off of a jump. They lose control easier, so you have to physically man handle the bike way harder, because it's 300-500 lbs of weight trying to throw you off instead of 200. They are a million times harder to save all around simply because of the fact that it has more surface area touching the ground than a bike-
true but race and practice are differant. ive seen lots of guys get taken out by quads because they dont have common curdacey on the track. they dont look behind them before and after getting on the track ive seen so many of my buddies get taken out by them.
@magie321 well i got a 08 yfz 450 and a yz450f (my dads) im good at riding both and can whip the bike. i rode dirt-bikes up until 2 years ago then got a yfz, and a supercross track is more challenging and by far more fun with an atv than a bike.

une bombe merci du partage !
Le Quad c'est cool, mais commenté avec l'accent canadien, c'est juste magique :)
finally someone who doesnt make fun of quads. i have both dirtbike and quads. theyre both harder in different types of riding.
superbe video
It already happened. Chad Weinen (ATV) put in a faster lap time than any of the AMA pro bike guys at Redbud in 2010.
Nice vid.. GO SUPERCROSS!!!!
these guys have balls..
Right at the begging of the race "OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH"

I race quads and this looks awesome!
quads are awesome bikes are awesome yes there is distinct differences but there is no reason to get mad at one if you like the other
agreed, the quad is moving in every direction as when ur riding a dirtbike ur mostly moving back and forth but i LOVE riding dirtbike.
I Loved

The AMA needs that
Now that I think about it in my old age I have began rolling the rhythm sections as well! Maybe I should ride a quad and I'll be able to compete on a high level again! LOL

clearly the track is not made for quads. I'm sure that makes it 100 times harder
Oooooo yess the ds650 is nice
did anybody else notice the video was 9 min 11 seconds long thumbs up if you did not notice
that track looks better than most the sx's in us..
same here and it turned out i liked quads better cuz there more challenging on a track :)
Quads are more physically demanding. I got on a bike in recent years because it's easier on my body. It's also cheaper.
-not to mention the stock fuel injection system that my quad came with, and the custom opened air intake.
Ty
Sais spécial avec cette langue =D
yes

spickk!
Number 94 sure was sin slow motion getting back to his 4 wheeler after 1st turn crash
yfz 450's look so much better than all the others.
I like atvs and dirt bikes
wat kinda shocks to those can-am's have. looks like KYB shocks but i didn't know they made those for quads
It's harder to be fast on 4 wheels and I'm sure the slowest of the amature riders would kick your ass around a track.
what kind of quads do they ride? suzuki z400's?
pause @ 3:31 and the guy closest to the camera has the same helmet as me! :)
Very cool Natalie kicked some serious ass!!!
Go America!

I just have more fun on an atv, that's why I ride one.
Why I can´t see a Bombardier ds 650? :/
