A few things I'd fix in this video: 1. Please eat the rice with spoon, it's so much easier 2. for all the indonesians that comments about nasi lemak is not an indonesian food. you guys are wrong. i'm bataknese (an ethnic group in indonesia) and in medan we call it nasi lemak because we have a huge melayu (malay) influence there. since i born and grew up in jakarta, i've tasted nasi uduk and nasi lemak. it has a similar yet still different taste. for example, nasi lemak usually has side dishes like ikan bilis. fun fact, nasi uduk actually was born from melayu people that comes to batavia who integrated with people in java. also, people in sumatra (especially in the northern area) and in riau have more similarities in accent and foods with our malaysian and singaporean brothers and sisters than people in java. so guys please jangan jadi javasentris dan ayo lebih mau cari tau makanan dan kebudayaan serta tradisi dari suku dan daerah lain. but that's okay, it's shows people how big indonesia really is. some of our people don't even know our own foods either 😅😂

As an Indonesian who currently living in Australia.. All I know is that most of popular Indonesian foods are influenced by Indian, Chinese, and Middle East cuisines but then when I decided to go eating those countries authentic foods in Australia, I thought they probably would just taste the same but then I was so surprised that the flavour was very different from Indonesian cuisines and It’s not really suited with my tongue. Indian and middle east food is too much of spices (especially the use of coriander) while Chinese food just has different aroma and sometimes too sweet compared to Chinese food in Indonesia

Nasi Lemak is Malaysian food. Indonesian food is Nasi Uduk, similar to Nasi Lemak but with different topping and slightly different ingredient to season the rice. The things that makes Nasi Goreng different is the use of kecap, which is a sweet soy sauce. And please let them eat with their hands bcs in Indonesian culture, people eat rendang with their hands, there is even a debate about it. Nasi Lemak from Malaysia, Indonesian we have Nasi Uduk
for all the indonesians that comments about nasi lemak is not an indonesian food. you guys are wrong. i'm bataknese (an ethnic group in indonesia) and in medan we call it nasi lemak because we have a huge melayu (malay) influence there. since i born and grew up in jakarta, i've tasted nasi uduk and nasi lemak. it has a similar yet still different taste. for example, nasi lemak usually has side dishes like ikan bilis. fun fact, nasi uduk actually was born from melayu people that comes to batavia who integrated with people in java. also, people in sumatra (especially in the northern area) and in riau have more similarities in accent and foods with our malaysian and singaporean brothers and sisters than people in java. so guys please jangan jadi javasentris dan ayo lebih mau cari tau makanan dan kebudayaan serta tradisi dari suku dan daerah lain. but that's okay, it's shows people how big indonesia really is. some of our people don't even know our own foods either 😅😂

Yeah, I have no idea where did they get that Nasi Lemak was from Indonesia, it is known to be Malaysian cuisine. However everything else looks great - Especially the Bakso, the broth seems to be really good!

And some of indonesian are jakartacentrism or javacentrism to not know the other island... 🤔 Truth hurts but they seem like not accept the fact

Nasi uduk Is the same kind i guess

But that police thing with Bakso tho, you did a great research 👍👍👍
Nasi lemak juga ada di Indonesia di Riau daratan dan Kepulauan Riau namanya juga nasi lemak. Ini makanan melayu bukan makanan Indonesia atau Malaysia lebih tepatnya nusantara

Indonesians always eat using spoons and forks, it's even more delicious if you eat something with your bare hands (clean of course). Not all Asian food uses chopsticks, oh come on, I really feel sorry for seeing them eating with a little difficulty enjoying the dish.

Nasi Lemak is Malaysia national dish. You can also google it to know the difference. Hope this helps! Love from Malaysia & Indonesia!
CHOPSTICK FOR EVERYTHINGGGG????
- Most of Indonesian foods are eaten using hands or spoons. If you eat noodle, that'd be okay to eat with chopsticks.
- When you're eating Gado-gado (mixed vegetables), you're supposed to pour the peanut sauce to all vegetables and then mixed all together
- Regarding nasi lemak, if you're visiting northern part of Sumatra Island, possibly you could find one. But most of Indonesians are eating nasi uduk which is different at all in terms of vegetable and meat
But more importantly, you should have another episode of Indonesian food. We have so many to offer
If you need new foods, I'll share some that could be cooked:
- Ayam Geprek (Fried chicken that is pounded flat and served with Sambal)
- Soto Ayam (Indonesian Chicken Yellow Soup)
- Bubur Manado/Tinutuan (Indonesian porridge filled with various vegetables)
- Lontong Sayur (Indonesian traditional vegetable stew served with lontong, a rice cake covered in banana leaves)
- Pecel (Indonesian vegetable salad mixed with peanut sauce and served with rice, sambal, fried tempeh, fried tofu, and prawn cracker)
