oh yea~ Deco making an appearance! :D
Nice pedal board! Looking forward to how the 2 RC-500 loopers work together! (:
how the hell have i not seen your videos before. guitar looping, ableton, boss products. this is everything im all about. great video
I've got a GT1000CORE on order. I plan to sync my new Roland MC707 to my RC500...kind of half your rig! Looking forward to what you do with this awesome setup! Thanks, Ben!
Sounds great! GT1000CORE has been a great addition to my setup! So many options with the ways you can use it!
Am waiting for my RC-500 arrive. Thanks for your videos and inspiration!
That’s great! Hope you enjoy it! Awesome pedal! Thanks for watching!
@Marc Williams Hope so. It’s the beginning of my new adventure and will be my first looper pedal. I hope it’s not overkill for me and will last many years. Just waiting for DHL to get a move on and deliver it to me (I’m in Europe).
that looks like a ace set-up dude
Would be so awesome if you’d give us a demo of you playing with that beautiful setup🙏🙏❤️
Yea you can link the 300 with 505 the same way BUT OMG to have this sound quality - good thinking man! But Where’s the bloody RC1000?? Come on BOSS just do it!!! 🤞🏽NAMM 2021
Very nice, thank you :)
Yea the FS-7 is a great liitle switch, i would also recoment an aditional one assinned to rythem on off on the RC500. Thats what im doing on mine and it really makes things better. Also love the way you deap dive in to the tech, Just weeks after the release of the RC500 your running 2 as a 4 channel . Awesome.
As a live looping bassist, I've gone RC10R for the more elaborate drums. Coupled with 2 FS5U footswitches I have really good control of it. I've coupled that with a Zoom B1x four for my effect chain and amp simulation, plus it has a built-in volume/expression so I've got a full range of sound control. This is running duel output of the loops and separate drums to my 2 channel audio interface. Overall very happy for my first live loop rig, still learning but getting there 😁

Good video!
You are well done! Nice tutorial video. Can you tell me if it is possible to synchronize the BOSS RC-10R and BOSS RC-500. To preserve the beautiful transitions and rhythm variety of the BOSS RC-10R section while combining the convenience and functionality of the BOSS RC-500? If possible, the film would be very interesting!

The Boss RC-500 I understand processes 32bit audio. Can you hear improved depth and clarity from that hight bit depth? Does your system chain maintain that depth or is it lost going through one or more of the other pedals that may only be 16bit?
Great vid. What"s the midi cable you use to connect both units? Cheers!
Strymon Deco, ya man!!!
Amazing Setup, thanks for the video. I'd be interested if you use Midi Control here and how it works? Are u using a midi controller for Ableton and trigger midi control changes from there to the loopers and the GT-1000 Core? I'm thinking about extending my setup (RC-500 + FC-300 Midi Foot Controller) with a drumcomputer/groovebox or simple midi controller (like AKAI MPD Stuff) but i'm not sure if all components work together the way i want it :-D
Hey Ben, brilliant video.
re the OC-5, I need to check this but the GT does poly octave also & you can set it to only effect lower strings (I need to check this but am pretty sure). I get it’s great idea to have the independent on/off octave so still a great idea but if you needed a smaller rig for eg - 1xRC + GT you still could achieve this effect 😉👍🏽 happy days!
Thanks for the info! That is something to consider for a smaller setup! Still learning the GT1000 Menu systems. So many possibilities loving it! Hope you are good!
@@BenRowlandsMusic am good thanks man, hope you are too. Yea gonna be interesting this series... don’t worry bout getting your head around the gt, you’re a smart cookie & the unit just uses a different side of our brains - mine hurt at first too! 😂 it’s a bit like swapping iPhone to Samsung - at first it’s all odd, opposite & difficult but soon the pennies drop
Haha thanks! Yeah that is a good way to put it! Just about adapting the workflow. Especially having used the Kemper for a few years. Good though! Makes you try new things!
@@BenRowlandsMusic yea it is.. I gotta ask, how are you getting along with the core..?
I was surprised when you got it - generally there’s a lot of snobbery from keeper & Helix users against boss so was really interesting & refreshing to see you went for GT
@@planzed463 Mainly the Dual Amp Options of the Core! Been wanting to run simultaneous amp patches for a while!
So with two 505 connected with a midi cable can I consider them both as a modern 4 channel version of the rc-300?
Please somebody explain how you can assign different rhythms one to each track when you have the RC500 in single mode and you're using each track as Verse and Chorus. Thanks.
hi ben! can you show us how to control gt-1000core looper (record/play, stop, clear) using an external midi controller, if that is even possible? thank you.
Can you use the RC-500 as an audio interface? Via the USB you know?
Do you have a wiring diagram to explain how everything is connected. I have the exact same setup as you have here. GT1000 core and Two RC500...... Thanks
any way you can just sync the two pedals with out ableton? would love to have a four track looping setup. i want to use a roland jdxi to one for drums, and the other one for bass and guitar, thank you🤘
Hey man, got a question about using two looper pedals. I am using two rc-500’s, and I have my instruments routed through my mixer, then I ran a looper off of the Main Out, and the other off of the Control Room Out. It seems to work, but I was curious if you have a better solution. I have another mixer that i then run both looper pedals into. Would love some advice since I am an amateur lol. Thanks
Do any of these new loop pedal have USB to computer as does the Boss ME 80 which is very nice to be able to change setting from a computer screen??
hi i just got the beautiful rc 500 boss
I wanted to know if it was possible via midi to program it with the beatbuddy THANK YOU
is it possible to get double slave connection with boss 1000core only, without pc with abelton live?
Put the RC 500 loop pedals at the top
Since you have the foot switch pedal you won’t really need to touch it
question ? possible
Connecting two boss rc500
And start Recording Master and slave together ???
Hi ben ! Do you know if we can set up two rc-500 with a pacer nektar ?
Thank you!!
Hey, Ben, did you find a way to sync gtk and rc500 only for clock tempo and control changes without sending also program changes? I’m trying to use a full size Gtk to control my Rc500 and I don’t want the Gt to change presets on the Rc. Any suggestion? Thanks
Hey Ben, I enjoy your channel. Question-What made you go with 2 RC500’s as opposed to the HeadRush Looperboard? Why did your enthusiasm cool on the Looperboard?
HeadRush Looperboard is a great Pedal, it was mainly the size and weight of the loop station. For transport it was a major downgrade from my RC-300. Also there where a few little features, that it didn't have compared to my RC-505. Which was making it hard to adapt my workflow to.
The two RC-500's are so small and lightweight it's crazy! Still very capable loop station as well due to having BOSS's 32Bit Processing. Also if needed for a small acoustic show, I can half my loop station. And just run a single RC-500 making it even more convenient and compact! I hope this helps you understand my thought process with the RC-500's! All the Best, Ben
Can the pedal to verse chorus ? Serial looping ? It seems like everyone is returning their pedal because of this issue
Have you had any issues with a warbling sound/artifacts in the recorded loop when one of the new RC pedals (both 5 and 500) are slaved to another RC pedal? I emailed Roland, but haven't heard back about the issue. It's happening with both the RC-5 and the RC-500 for me. Have any similar issues?
Please, talk about the "too busy" error on Boss RC 300 Loop Station
I had this error a lot, the only thing I found was to save your work more frequently
@@echoandcompany8989 the thing is I work with the loopstation by playing the drums on it and put those tracks in the loop from my computer. I don't do any live looping.
Have you tried the rc500 with the beatbuddy?
Hey Ben would there be any benefit to use the RC 10 along with the RC 500 instead of 2 RC 500s???
is it possible to connect two of these RC-500's for 4 independent loop tracks? I have seen videos of these set up as Master/Slave but only for 4 track overlays, but not independent (intro/verse/Chorus/bridge). I noticed that the clock is controlled by the master meaning that you need to start your song on the master pedal. So I feel it could have issues with 4 single tracks due to the slave unit not being able to keep time without the master running something
what if you hooked an RC-10R to an RC-500 with midi? Would the RC-500 be able to use the rhythm tracks from the RC-10R?
What is the demintions of the board
what power supply are you using plz ?
i just bought the RC500 and noticed an immediate problem. when i record a loop in either track and alter the tempo even slightly, it cause the loop soung to distort as a warble.
i've updated the system version to 1.02 and turned off all loop FX, still the same problem. i've contacted Boss and waiting for an answer. do i have a defective unit or is this a product design defect?
Do you think boss will come with a new version of the boss rc 300?😊
Nothing has been confirmed yet! But by guessing, probably. At the moment they are updating the old line of loopers bit by bit. RC3 for RC5 and RC30 for RC500. So maybe it is next? Time will tell!
Have these 2 Rc500s replaced your Rc300 for your acoustic rig?
Yeah I think they may! In fact one RC-500 may replace the three track RC-300 loop pedal, for acoustic looping. Just for smaller size and newer features.
Will you please make a video for how to connect two rc-500s together and get them to behave properly, without ableton live? I just bought a second one, and I have footswitches for each, one assigned for "currently trk undo/redo" and the other to "start all" and so unfortunately, it loops correctly at first and syncs to the other clock but then when I stop Lal and start all, it just ducks it up and starts one of them at a random spot. Big disappointment if that isn't fixable. FYI, I don't use midi for my bpm, I loop live instruments without a metronome or anything
Did you find a solution for this? I've been using a 500 and 10R together with some success. I have a 2nd 500 arriving tomorrow where I will try to do the same as you.
Sorry, I simply wanted to know how you connect the RC-500 to the GT 1000 CORE, seems a simple question but something no-one tells you?
Aaaand they just announced the RC-600...
Hey Ben, Thx for exploring this territory!! Will you incorporate the Nektar Pacer, or will that be redundant to the rc500s? Also, how will saved Ableton Live session loops interact with rc500 loops? Does this mean saving song parts in 3 places? I’m trying to work this out with mac pro, KMI Softstep 2, Ableton Live, & UA Apollo Solo interface, with fiddle, mandolin, & vocals as the inputs. Advantage: saves everything in one place for quick & complete recall. Disadvantage: not purpose-designed hardware like RCs. Thoughts? This guy is doing what I am trying to set up: czcams.com/video/gZ9sA6IcDwc/video.html
