- Hi guys!
After a long while and on and off drawing, I finally finished this Kaeya and Diluc centered animatic, "Because"! I love Yoko Kanno's music and Aoi Teshima's voice and this song, I felt, was just perfect in describing Kaeya and Diluc's past and relationship (and whether you see that as romantic or not idc. you do you).
I tried to work with a bit more shading but I still stuck to grayscale. Hopefully in future videos I'll add in some actual color. We'll see... Also need to add that any backgrounds I did were all blatantly traced for the most part from screenshots I took in game ngl. I must say though, the most difficult thing to draw was their freakin' hair especially yours Diluc omg-

The fact that in this new update, at the islands, if you talk with Kaeya he will talks about Diluc, and him wishing to be young again with a sad face, but then if you talk with Diluc he will said things about how Kaeya loves the summer and the beach since childhood :'3.

I think that kaeya is going to die in the lore, and he will not be able to reconcile with diluc :(
somehow I think that when kaeya has to choose a side he will go to the side of lumine because in the end it seems that the traveler goes through those parts, when we are near the end of the game, something will happen, I think kaeya can die saving diluc :(

I wonder if Diluc and Kaeya just started to long for the brotherly relationship after seeing the Traveler search and search for their lost sibling. Do they miss that bond they had?

In case you're wondering who the character is in 1:30, that's Collei and she's one of the characters in the official Genshin Impact manga : D
For context: Collei wields this fake vision called "Delusion", similar to what Childe has.
You can read the manga on webtoon
Further context / small spoilers?: The Fatui "recruits" people and make them their test subjects, injecting this Delusion. It's not so easy to wield such power though. Diluc's father also has a Delusion. Master Crepus used his Delusion during the ambush to fight Ursa the Drake. The dragon was successfully driven away by Master Crepus but his Delusion backfired, causing him death. Diluc blamed himself for not being strong enough. Kaeya and the Knights arrived to the scene late, which is prpbably why Diluc calls the Knights "inefficient"? Diluc left the Ordo Favonius because one of the Knights (he looked like he was someone with a high rank. Maybe he was the previous Master of the Knights? or a rank below that) said that they shouldn't let the public know about the incident. "Ordo Favonius will lose credibility if people were to discover that this incident had been settled by a mere business man. They won't trust us to protect them anymore." They wanted to take credit for what Diluc's father had done.
Diluc got frustrated and quit being a Knight.
God damn the Knights of Favonius are starting to sound shadier and shadier
Collei has archon residue inside of her though? Is that the same thing that a delusion is made out of?
Additional Detail I think people missed, Diluc killed his father to get rid of his pain after using the delusion. That’s why Kaeya says in the manga that Diluc “killed his old man.” Kaeya got there in time to see it happen upset that he couldn’t come earlier, and it is theorized that under Kaeya’s eyepatch is something similar to Dainsleif or a delusion he chooses not to use.
@@doodleproductions7552 kaeya was lying, diluc had no idea that delusions even existed before his father died because of it. That’s the whole reason he tracked down the fatui for like 6 years
@@aria83308 Kaeya was not lying? Diluc ‘mercy-killed’ his father because the delusion was already killing him, he saw his father in pain and decided to end it quicker that way and Diluc felt guilt over the whole thing. I’m 99% sure that is factually true to the events that occurred.

WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE BACKGROUNDS??????? It must have taken ages JUST for that alone, and it is combined with lots of amazing and beautiful frames, with fully lined people, who are genshin characters, so with lots and lots of details, and EVERYTHING is here.

I'm just now realizing how much of comfort characters Kaeya and Diluc are for me. Almost three years ago my sister who I was very close to as a child moved out on very bad terms and we hardly talk or see each other any more. I love my sister very much but the way she left still hurts more then anything.
Even though Kaeya and Diluc act like they hate each other and don't talk or see each other very much and parted on bad terms.... You can still see how much they care about each other even though they wont admit it.

I applaud the effort on their hair! I saw in the description you had a hard time with Diluc’s. Even if you watched the video with/without knowing that, Diluc turned out beautifully accurate.

I wish I could like this a few dozen times. This is so well done, and the music fits. And I'm a total fangirl who adores Diluc and Kaeya and wishes they could be brothers again... and some part of me weeps at the "Greek Tragedy" potential that could be. I just want them to be happy.

Am I the only one who thinks Kaeya might be hiding his eye behind an eyepatch for reasons other than an injury? Like, maybe he’s ashamed of it, or he was told to hide it? As in, perhaps it reflects his heritage? And who knows, maybe his eye is golden... just like the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles. I think Kaeya might be her son. Dainsleif took him away from her at a young age, then sent him to the Ragnvinders, where Kaeya would find a kindred spirit in Diluc. They would grow up together, but Kaeya would misguidedly think that his “father” (who’s really his uncle) left him there to spy on Mondstadt, when he really just wanted Kaeya to grow up away from his tyrannical mother. Kind of sad, really.
In one of his dialogues in the character info, he says that in fact his eye is perfectly fine, that he just hide it behind the eyepacht for no specific reason.
@@kiravogel8052 The exact line is, "My eye? My eye is fine. There's nothing unusual about hiding one's body parts from view." He never says there's no reason for him to hide his eye.
@@kiravogel8052 that's true, but kaeya is known for telling lies left and right. I feel like there has to be a deeper meaning to his other than the other characters with eyepatches since he really has no use for it. Fischl wears one so she can block out her vision of seeing through Oz's eyes, and Beidou is just y'know, a pirate. But as for Kaeya, he always had something covering his eye even when he was little....hmm
