I can already hear the forums already. "Imagine how nice the tank would be if he did waterchanges!"

I've learned over the years to pretty much never listen to anyone on the forums. 90% of them are simply self-righteous a-holes. And ReefCentral is only good for the photos, I cringe when I read "advice" from their mods.

greetings from down under Glenn!! I love the look of the tank and have been sporadically keeping up with the tank over the years.
forgive me for my ignorance, but I was wondering what you have in place for nutrient export. the only reason I ask is i'd like to adopt some aspects of DSR to my planned tank whilst using a quasi balling method to keep trace elements, KH and calc constant.
I was wondering if this is possible or if DSR is a method that requires commitment on all fronts?
much love from Australia and happy reefing!!
p.s. sorry for the wall of text

Hi Glenn, I understand that according to your DSR Method, NatriumCarbonate is dosed for KH+ and CalciumChloride for Ca+. Does this not mean that after reacting, this results in a buildup of NaCl and increase of salinity, same as in the Balling method? If so, how is this issue solved?

For all saying impossible or fake. It can and has been done. Biology and chemistry knowledge/proficiency is a must.
Water changes are just easier than testing/monitoring multiple parameters, exporting nutrients and replenishing elements. A well balanced mature system is also paramount.
By no means would I be able to do it with my $ or knowledge but...
