this is another one of those videos where everyone who plays a bass in some capacity needs to watch because no matter how long you've been doing it you'll probably be better at it after going through this entire thing
This has to be one of the best videos I have seen in a long time, I really take advantage of this hour, and it’s worth every word and every second of it, by the way, what up powerful riff your showing us there, thanks, Greg!
Great video, brother, definitely picked up some things!! I really love the idea about tuning the bass guitar. Well playing it as hard as you’re going to play it!! I think that is flat out genius!! Definitely going to be doing that from now on!! 🙌🏻
Sorry about that. I remember toying with the idea of making those parts louder for the video edit, but I opted to try to leave the audio as raw as possible aside from occasional ducking when my dumb ass tries to talk over it. Thanks for watching and hanging out!
@@gregfender haha don’t sweat it. The point of the video was to hear you talk through the process, so it’s not a big deal. It does help to hear the thoughts in context though!
Probably you meant to move the compressor before the distortion pedals in the chain , I think from what I ve saw on the video seems like it's at the end , but still quite informative video, got myself this thing and I really like it , only criticism is the noise gate , doesn't feel clean enough but you can always run one before the plugin
Oh whoops, I can’t remember if that was intentional or not in retrospect. But thanks for watching! It really is a sweet plug-in. Do you have a favorite gate plug-in? I don’t gate bass very often but I’ve found most noise gates on plugins to be kinda meh and haven’t found any dedicated gate plugins that I truly love yet.
Yeah I was confused at first too because the way the units are positioned on the plugin is not the actual chain , and even if you change the order it doesn't change the optical representation, maybe a future update will "fix" that , about noise gate either the stock logic or the free nembrini, they didn't altered the tone as much , I also tried the 1176 before the plugin instead of the plugin compressor and gave a nice "color to the tone @@gregfender
Use discount code ‘Fender25’ for 25% off Seismic or anything else in the Modern Metal Songwriter store.

Thanks man! I try not to go too deep normally but sometimes if you leave out a seemingly insignificant thing it can make all the difference.
Saved to my "Music Production" playlist. This will be an absolute go to every time I ever have to dial in bass going forward.
That’s awesome, I’m glad it’s helpful!
You are definitely the man when it comes to being the best teacher on CZcams! Very educational and easy to follow! Keep on truckin my friend!
Thanks! I don't know if I'm the best at anything here but I hope I can help some people out!
Great video man! Tons of nuggets in here, and worth a watch!
Also, thanks for using Seismic in it! Appreciate the support dude! 🔥
Thank you for the awesome plugin!
Great video! ... Just bought Seismic Bass Suite a few days ago. I have to say, out of all the bass plugins I have this one is pretty damn impressive.
Thanks man! Yeah Seismic is pretty great, I’m digging it quite a bit

Thanks dude! I’m glad you got some useful stuff out of it!
Thanks for the discount, Big Dawg. 10/10 video, or maybe I'm just a big nerd. Either way I learned some stuff!
Right on dude I’m glad you dig it!
Only issue I have with the video is not being able to hear the bass tone you’re dialing in very well, but lots of good info

@@constantinranis this is good to know! I don’t use Logic a whole lot but I’ll look into the other one. I love an 1176 on a bass DI
