    I will never understand why these influencers or brands don't want to bluntly disclose it's sponsored. It's not a disease. If they're aiming for human touch, being transparent about it works best rather than burying it under all that BS.

    • @akumayoxiruma
      @akumayoxiruma Před rokem +106

      Because it looks better if someone endorses a product/brand when they aren't paid to give compliments. However, it looks awful once it is found out when it wasn't disclosed properly.

    • @makeupandfashionduh6492
      @makeupandfashionduh6492 Před rokem +54

      Because they don't have an actual opinion on it, they are being paid to promote those items which means it's just a paycheck. That's why they tell you it's so awesome and "buy" it in a 30 second tiktok video. On CZcams, gurus did 30 minute reviews of products and tested them religiously for months, to give us their honest opinions. These tiktokers do 30 second videos and get paid thousands of dollars, none of it is genuine. Whatever that one girl said "don't all influencers lie?", you can't trust everyone. We need to stop putting so much energy into celebrities and influencers, they are just people.

Ended up buying some ELF ans NYX products I actually liked as a beginner because of this, and even ELF! The only product I bought from a sponsored youtuber ended up being a brand that I later found out even lied about being vegan and cruelty free and never apologized for it and instead brushed it under the rug. Never doing that again lol. I also recommend asking friends or family for their fav makeup, atleast to me its more trustworthy then the majoeity of makeup gurua online. So if you can, you should submit FTC complaints for these videos. However, another avenue is the brands themselves. Every brand has compliance teams which should be found on corporate sites. If you send an email to brand compliance with complaints about specific collabs, it signals to the brand that they need to push the influencers harder and to be be more strict. Nothing will change unless we push for that change. If tik tokers won't listen, go to the people who can enforce (FTC) or where their money comes from.

    So, for people Who say that "it's just a video" and "why would you be disappointed for someone who you don't even know?" Let me explain. Some of us that are into makeup, we don't have that amount of money to expend in every new product that comes out, so, when we want to buy something, we like to make sure it's worth it. And yes, we believe in this influencers because we believe that what they're saying is true and they say it because they want us to buy good things. And a lot of people buy make up products only because their favorite influencers said so. So we need people to say the truth, and, if they're making a paid video, they should say it. I've seen a lot of reviews that people love this blush and it's a great formula and color, but for a lot of people pigmentation became a problem. When you are in a hurry in the morning you make one awkward movement and you have half-face draping, this cannot but annoy. This problem often caused people to change their opinion from very positive to neutral or even negative. But how a person can say, at one moment, that the blush blends well, and then not, I don’t understand.

I watch influencer videos in the beauty world entirely because it’s the most efficient way for me to find out about new products that I haven’t tried yet. That’s it. I don’t care about their opinions I just love trying anything cosmetic because that is where I find a source of joy.
