Thanks for your breakdown on flexcut vs non-flexcut. That was really easy to understand, especially for me as a super beginner. That's honestly been something really throwing me for a loop as I've been shopping and researching.
Yeah I would suggest if you like the foam configurations just get the flex cut pcb. If you want to experiment and have the dough get both
“This also applies to those that like the foamy sound or pe sheets. You’re monsters but you still are allowed to like what you like.” Love this because lately people tend to forget it’s all preference.
For the record I don’t actually think they are monsters just thought it would be funny. My preferred build is usually just a sheet of PE foam. Shhhhh don’t tell anyone
Trying so many configs takes tons of hours, extraordinary work!!! Thank you!!!
The qk75 keycaps are fire ngl. I've only recently started watching you but I'm really enjoying the content and humour so far. Keep up the great work!
The dedication in doing all the different sound tests is unreal
Thanks for the comparisons!
awesome video, it's really fun and refreshing! thanks for taking the time to do all the different sound tests :)
Thanks for doing all the different configurations. Great video!
great stuff man! been loving the recent increase in production quality in your work. can't wait to see more:D
Love the humor and the color grading in your content, man! Subscribed. Tempted to get a QK80. Zion Studios just started today.
Such a detailed review, thanks a lot. This helps quite a bit
theres so much customization to this! i found that 80% isnt my preferred layout but the pcb options are tempting
Can't believe I wasn't subbed to you. You deserve it, the effort you put into all your vids is great to see.
Thanks for this. I'm trying to build my first custom keyboard and have spent the last 2 weeks getting up to speed on custom keyboards. I was using the same Steelseries Shift keyboard for the last 20 years and didn't replace it until I spilled a beer on it a couple of weeks ago. I bought a Logitech K845ch full sized keyboard with Cherry Blue tactile switches as a replacement. I was amazed at the difference. I actually enjoy typing now. 🙂 I don't know why I waited so long to replace my old keyboard. I have built my own PC's for 20 years and upgrade them pretty often. Now I've got the custom keyboard bug and plan to build the Meletrix Zoom98 as my first custom keyboard. It's a lot to take in and your video is a big help. Thanks for the video. Subscribed
Wow I’m glad you got the help from the video. Feel free to ask any questions.
I love the humor and editing, you always manage to make your videos both informative and super entertaining. THANK YOU. That QK80 is the exact config that I've been debating getting.
Siege!!!! Make sure to comment of the IG post too. Need to make sure you get that entry for the giveaway bro. Good luck!
@@Akeynote I don't use Instagram, I don't like supporting Facebook. Really cool of you to run a giveaway though
it's really interesting hearing the difference between non flex cut and flex cut pcbs!
It's interesting that you mentioned that it had a slightly 'airier' sound, which I think to me makes sense because there's a bit more sound to pass through from the bottom out of each switch to the case, and back to the ear, that's the way I see it anyway.
Fantastic content as always ^^
Great comparison ma'dudez! But I was more amazed at yo' self-made sound transi fx! 🤣Great work and video ma'dudez!
Another BANGER OF A VIDEO man, still waiting on my qk75 for some reason, but after seeing this I’m about to pull the trigger on the preorder on that qk80!!!! Keep up the content, I appreciate you blessing my feeds!
My man not only putting in the work building every configuration but also keeping me rolling on the floor laughing with the whispered jokes
Thanks for showing us all the build options! Really helpful and appreciated!
Incredible production! Love that you can inject some humor into these reviews.
Great comparison between flex cut pcb and taped pcb!!
What a stunning build! Thanks for making keyboard videos entertaining!
I love the sound effect sounds you made😂, subbed immediately!
Great video showing all the different configuration. Thanks for the effort.
Another successful video!!! The amount of work you put into your videos is outstanding.
from the moment you said i couldnt give a rat's ass, i subbed. :) (and i really like your explanation of customization and preferences about the differences.)
Oh wow thanks. This videos a little old now hopefully the information is still relevant haha. Appreciate you stopping by
Smashed it as always lad!
10/10 content as usual, thanks for keeping us so entertained and informed ❤️. Looking forward to the the giveawayyyyy
lit ass video bro 💯
Great video man! Those bundled keycaps look great! If you don't mind me asking, how's the keycaps quality? Do you think it's worth the $70 price, or should I get my own keycaps?
Worth 70 for sure since it also come with switches but the legends could be just a little bit crisper. Unless you absolutely love this color way I would get my own.
thank you! great video
nice vid! any details of that big knob next to the kb? looks amazing!
Great job with the vid as always. I got the QK75 and typing on it rn. Although it cost me two kidneys to bring it to India, the keyboard is indeed great and I don't regret getting it. Part of it is because you told me that the board is worth way more than it costs and I don't disagree with that!
You are so amazing to do most of the builds for this keyboard. But can you make it longer so non-pro people can have time to compare the difference between each build?
I need a macropad using only the homemade sound effects from your videos lol. Loving your content!
Great illustration and comparison of the differences.
The "flex cuts bad!" hivemind following Alex has been hilarious to watch. When they started coming out and "influencers" hyped them, everyone loved them. The typing feel of my ultra-flex plateless MM Studio Class 65 is amazing and, for me, that's what I'm buying a board for more than anything: typing feel.
Hivemind. Well said. I agree, and I love Alex’s content. But I’m not sheeple and I like, what I like. I hear a difference in this video (and btw, fantastic work). But when I sit down in front of my QK75 for work every day, the feel and sound leave me with zero desire to mod it… or to run out and buy a pcb with no flex cuts.
Agree with you both 💯. I get why people don’t like them but knowing the cuts help with hollowness and case ping is definitely worth something!
@@Akeynote Hi im stuck in buying zoom 75. i use the keeb mainly for gaming should i choose flex cut or non flex cut?
@@sorryfoo Ill get the non flex for gaming. if you are more on typing you can choose flex cut.
the 4x key cap on the right is so cute! I'm wondering what they're called so i can get my hands on one too
first youtuber to tackle the flexcut/nonflexcut/tapedflexcut debate???
either way, this video is much appreciated. got my sub and like! :)
can u sugguest me which PCBs compatible with POM plate ? thanks so much !
non-flex cut sounds so much better. I'll pass on the QK80 but for newbies this might be exactly what you're looking for.
Hi im stuck to flex cut and non flex cut. Im new to keeb. I mainly use the keyboard for gaming should i choose flex cut or non flex cut?
Maybe the non flex cut, because that one is more versatile if you want to switch it up later. if you’re going to use all the foam together all the time get the flex cut.
😂Dying over here with the whispering subliminal messages. Love my foamy Meletrix, flex cuts, and basic-AF PC plate.
Can't believe you have less than 2k subs, contents great 👍

The clout / customization comment destroyed me 😂😂 It’s really great to see manufacturers giving folks more options! I’ll admit if I was into TKLs, I’d be a little bummed that there wasn’t a no flex cut solder option, but it seems like plateless hotswap is doable on this, so maybe it’s not a big deal.
Thanks for always coming through! Make sure to commenton IG for that giveaway!
LOL your intro cracked me up. Still laughing as I type. It seems that the case foam is a must for the QK80. The case does have a hard hollow/pingy sound signature from what I've seen on other vids. But the keyboard is beautiful.
I like that comment where foamy sounds people, lol I feel that it’s just bandwagons, just because big content creator said flex cuts is bad it doesn’t mean it is, lol remember 2 years ago, we chase flex on boards, and now it was given they want to go back to non flex cut 🤦🏻. Just remember it’s all preference and at the end of the day it’s your board. ✌️
The pendulum will always swing my friend. I foreal used to not buy boards that didn’t have flex cuts because it seemed cheap lol. Everyone back in 2019 was putting shelf liner and poron foam from Amazon in their boards and it’s was the best thing ever lol. Now it’s trash and cheating. It’s very odd
i need those switches, i wish they sold the switches seperatly. or atleast the keycaps and switches seperately, i don't like the boards sound one bit so i'm not gonna buy it, but i atleast wish i could've gotten the switches without having to buy a whole board that i'm not gonna use. even if i sold the board later i would be spending like $70 ontop of however much loss i get from selling the board just for some switches. just really sad to see such cool looking switches that i'm unable to buy
I have never had a keyboard with a flex cuts, so the sound is interesting. Stunning build too! I'm tempted of joining the group buy, but I would go broke ; w;)
I don't care about the sound too much, what about the typing experience? Whichs one is better?
It’s negligible. Typing feel will be noticeable between the different mounts but pcb is whatever lol
Thanks for the detailed video! I am lost, I kinda like the flex sound with all the foams and the nonflex sound on some of the other combos. Is there a "default" choice that you'd suggest to someone new to keyboards?
The Tri-mode pcb since it has the most function. The non flex cut doesn’t have wireless.
@@Akeynote I was picking between the wireds for rgb anyways 😂 strictly for home desktop since I already have a wireless prebuilt
How is it if compare the to Shelby80?
Feel wise I like this more. The Shelby was really stiff through and through but aesthetically, of course I’m taking the Shelby. Sound is preference you can watch my Shelby video and deduce your own thoughts on that. When it comes to Value, this obviously. When building this keyboard it really felt like a sister board of the Shelby with qwertykey internals.
no cuz youre videos are so high quality but why don't more people know about you
May i ask what keycaps ur using?
These are the included keycaps in the bundle minus the navigation cluster obviously lol
I'm here for the QK75 giveaway 😊. I like the QK80 but I'm a knob guy through and through!
Thanks for the comparison dude. If I can ask, what is that big keycap that takes up four switches? Ive never seen something like that before.
