The craziest fact about the Egyptians is we forget just how old they were. The three pyramids of Giza were older to Cleopatra than she is to us. She started her reign in 50 BCE, and the pyramids had been finished in 2550 to 2490 BCE. They were *thousands* of years old to her and the Gods of Egypt had been worshiped for longer than that by the time she came around. Anubis had been worshipped as the protector of gravesites as far back as 3100 BCE.

@@justagamelover3337 ..No.. That's because Cleopatra started her rule 2080 years ago, and the pyramids had been completed 2440 years before her reign started, a total of 4500 years ago. That's our measurement of time. Not theirs.

For real, though, that R O O H ad lib is one of the best Rustage does when he's on the "Big Rustino" swagger, but this one has so much bass that it's rattlin the damn speakers.

This track went super hard, and it's funny that you mentioned YuGiOh, because Shwabadi and Cam Steady just dropped a Kaiba track that kicks some serious ass as well.

Ancient Egypt has some really great and fun history.
So the idea behind “weighed the hearts and they drowned in sin” bar is Anubis would weigh a dead persons heart against a an ostrich feather on one of those old scales with two sides ⚖️like the emoji. So then this measurement would determine if you were worthy to enter the realm of the dead. Hence the “it’s the underworld man you ain’t no king” line. Because it didn’t matter if you were a king if your heart was heavier than the feather then your soul would be eaten by the feared god Ammit. He is like a lion hippo crocodile combination thing.
Tho from this song I feel like you could get the impression Anubis was the king of the underworld.
He is no king but a god with a good few roles such as guarding graves and guiding / determining if people were allowed in the realm of the dead like I spoke about above.
Super interesting stuff! National Geographic has a good series on archaeology in Egypt where it follows some archaeologists in their digs and teaches a lot of about Ancient Egypt with some fun animations and what not. It’s on Disney plus highly recommended it.

3:25 Yes, or at least they are the first who we have evidece for doing it intentionally😊
4:35 That line could be a reference to how by the Middle Kingdom (c. 2055-1650 BC) he was replaced by Osiris in his role as lord of the underworld. After ward working just as the weigher of sin and the god of funerary practices and care of the dead.

Edit: Forgot to say first, love your content, keep it up man!! You're the best reactor on YT ❤
I heard once that there's still a few large chambers within one of the Pyramids that we still haven't seen inside of. There's no reasonable scanning technology that can get that far into it, and we haven't found any routes to get in there.
I could be wrong, fact check it first. But, that's what I've heard

Can you imagine spending your whole life making a giant sand triangle so that a dead guy can eventually go inside it? Well you’d also be enslaved but like sounds like hard work.

They definitely had traps and some pretty bad stuff has happened to people who opened the pyramids
On the topic of unfound stuff for a while we thought we had found everything in the pyramids but recent imaging technology as shown that there might be a room that is yet to be discovered

There is even a lot of undiscovered tombs for example the burial site of Cleopatra. Even in the valley of the kings some believe Ramses VIII is buried there but his tomb is still undiscovered

Anubis isn't the King of the Underworld. That's Osiris. I'm not sure but I think it's like what Thanatos is to Hades.

In terms of the Greek mythology I don’t know a ton. But I think it’s kinda a good comparison as Anubis would weigh hearts and determine if you were eligible to enter the realm of the dead (if you didn’t pass your soul was eaten by Ammit). Kinda like a doorman who determines eligibility in if you can enter the afterlife or just be eaten by a croc/lion/hippo god… tough life
