Hey guys! Some of you realized that I say “thirds” but play fourths. Yes; I meant fourths - thank you for pointing it out in such a nice way! 😊
Especially since it’s my first #LearnWithMe video... clearly I’m not very good at describing what I demonstrate 😂🙄

Thank you, it's so great that you would take the time to share your habits and tips with us in such a humble way. I feel more encouraged to do well on my violin journey as an adult beginner with such lovely young artists like you, twoset and Ray in the field. My son is even more inspired as he advances in his guitar. God bless you all.

when i first started learning piano i had no method(still this case). Only a count. so i counted the first few keys from left to right then right to left and thought AG was DE then found it is AG AG. But when i put together the scales i did it in a way that really did what you said. (A warm spot started lighting in my belly button when i played my left hand and right hand together in the cord sequence of the scales) it reminds me of the "ring" you said. I started playing the scale faster and faster and eventually my belly button felt like a warm liquid was in the very center of my being. Thought i'd mention. I was playing a scale back and forth like you were and then my qi stirred up. It was cool. (Yes i'm me).

I was looking for some warm up inspiration and found it interesting what you said about the violin ringing like a bell and that that means for you that you're playing in tune. It makes a lot of sense, although I've never thought about it like that. I guess I learned intonation mainly by checking with my open strings and also checking 4ths where possible... Cool to hear some different ways of thinking about it!

Hey Sumina, I have a HUGE admiration for you.
I started to play the violin there is now one year ago ( since november 2018 ) and it became a REAL addiction :-D
I practice around 2/3 hours per day since last year and my motivation is better everyday !
I think it can be a EXCELLENT idea if you make some tutorials ( especially for the left hand / intonation :-) ) on your channel because there is lot of " teachers " on CZcams but we never really see them play and when they play, it's often somes easy pieces on the first position only so hard to know their real " level ".
But if a violinist like YOU make some tutorials, you
would have a great credibility because your playing is just insane, awesome so I would know then that your advices are really useful and effective..
I subscribe :-) ( and sorry for my horrible english, I'm french ).

I admire that you have talent for violin along with exquisite beauty and I look up to you for that :) Do you think you would consider sharing technical and expressive tips of playing violin (shifting exercises, high position scales 3 and 4 octaves, finding high notes in 5th position and up, right hand and left hand technique, playing with the correct emotion for a piece)? This warm-up has definitely helped me in miraculous ways! I'm starting to gain strength back in my fingers when practicing tenths. I would appreciate future tips and tricks from you soon!

We love your playing and like your videos.
Could you film a video and share with us how you practise Colle, how can we practise to make the bow hand, fingers, wrist, relaxed and flexible.😊

Scales are so good! You can use them to warm up. You can use them to focus on one part of playing the violin like different bow strokes or perfecting posture and hand, wrist, and arm movements (instead of a piece so you can focus your attention to the technique, not the notes). And scales can be used to practice shifting. The lost goes on and this comment is getting a bit long. If ever you feel like not doing scales just remember that no matter how tedious they are, you're doing yourself a huge favour. Even if it's just 15 mins per practice session of scales, you can't get worse by doing them (I hope).
