Lured by a government amnesty, senior commanders from the LRA are coming out of the bush and speaking about their time with Joseph Kony. In this rare report, they justify their actions.
"He is from God. What he predicts comes true", states Captain Ray Apire, explaining Kony's hold over his soldiers. "By making people suffer, he is bringing people close to God". Commanders explain how they interpreted Jesus' command to "Go and catch people", seeing it as an order to abduct children. For the first time in a decade, the government and LRA are involved in serious peace talks. But the conflict is far from over. A woman breaks down describing how her daughter was abducted the previous night. This is the second time her girl has been kidnapped so she knows she will probably be killed.

This video makes me cry We suffered but we shall remain stronger with Gods' strength
Blessings and peace to you from me in the US. This made me cry and I'm sitting comfortably in my home staying up to date with what's happening/happened in the world. We are all human beings inhabiting the same planet. What so many throughout the world suffer - horribly, horrifically suffer - breaks my heart. I feel so helpless. The only thing I know to do is stay up to date and contribute where I'm able.
Notice the spirit of forgiveness abroad in the country. People keep moving forward. Because forgiveness is what Christ taught us. And Uganda is a Christian country.
I'm deeply humbled by Michael... You are a remarkable young man. God bless you sir
The guy who was disfigured! Lips / ears / fingers! He can forgive!?!.....What a total inspiration!
It is difficult because those who killed were first victims themselves.
Among the Acholi there is something called Mato Oput. This is different from European courts.

God bless and protect Uganda 🇺🇬...Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
The voice of sanity is the man at the end whose face was mutilated saying, "We don't want to punish them. We must forgive them. We just want them to come out of the bush and stop what they are doing."
Someone must begin the peace process, and it is often the forgivers.
@mrjroc318 what did limbaugh say about the lra?
These generals, these aides, of Koney, in amnesty do not appear to have remorse. I can appreciate their candor, but I don't see a change of heart from them. I may be wrong, but it seems they are being coddled, while down the road, children are still being murdered.
This is the comment I've been searching. They want to blame spiritual beliefs. I've not heard them being remorseful of being misled. They still believe in kony's gods and will kill again if need be.
What kind of wicked world 🌎 are we leaving in !! This innocent people are all traumatized😭😭😭😭!! PLS JESUS HAVE MERCY AND PROTECT THE INNOCENT ONES 🙏🇺🇸
The interviews with ex-LRA combatants are fantastically revealing. Such a terrible situation and history, but a heroic effort to forgive and move on by the public. One man says that you would not get this anywhere in the world - while I don't believe this is true, there is hope in the fact that in the worst case scenario the solution is simple, and something that every good society has tried to propagate in some form. It's simply a shame that trust and reconciliation is not pushed as viable a solution/policy in other contexts. All it is understanding and accepting - we can do that.
+Matt Hardy i completely agree. this is an issue which can cause much hate on both sides, depending on how the leaders push it, but luckily the Ugandan ppl r very forgiving, it definitely makes the situation more approachable :D
i cried when the boy said he could forgive them
19:35 to 19:58 is a embodiment of how human character and good is a tough fire to put out. I feel a serious sense of respect when I see that. Beyond my character to be like that - I think.
the part where the soldier was talking about sneaking up on the journalist and getting ready to abduct her…that’s crazy.
I believe it will take another 2000 years for humans to be fully civilized.
Oh..is shit edible?!
gursangeet chana
don't forget about pedophile killer slave owner prophet muhammed.
+jack ok so I'm not Muslim tho.........
@@6580006247 You dumb
@TheFinalTestament Can you please define "taking it over"?
it's hurts but for those who lost there life in the war .we need to thank who ever started this system of amnesty and thank the government of Uganda to take it on. I love the alcohol people for the forgiving heart..
Is this still going on?
Good luck to the Ugandan army and the people of Uganda in the war against the LRA.
How did the guy hear her at 5:21?
@fran21ish IS this still going on!?
These are the returnees, what could be their "Godly" boss like!!!
what is the name of the journalist?
breaks my heart! this is horrible, I don't understand why people are so crazy.
I pray that this will stop!
Any strong man cannot hold the tears from flowing after watching this; neither can he fail to catch cold. Dark spirit has finished us
But thanks be to the Almighty God for delivering us from those attrosities.
But to the Northern Uganda's dismay, we are so sorry that even though the gun went silent in our land, we still face horrible gun sounds accompanied with too much attrosities as gov't forces people to vacate their Land.
I knew a small amount about what had happened in Uganda, but this Kony video and idea is a great thing, it's not our fault the world is so big, and the media so rubbish when it comes to real issues. I live in Ireland and I came to find this video for more information, after seeing the Kony 2012 video. There's nothing wrong with seeking more information, and exposure of issues that matter, no matter how late, is always good. Maybe one day Humanity will be kind and we will never hurt each other.
I grew up in kampala.
We had school mates who came from Gulu and even asked them what happens, and often all they knew about the same things we knew.
Abduction marriage hehe!
Ahh.. 2007, My favourite year.
You know what I like about this video?
And the other videos on this channel on the matter?
They are educating me. They are not made purely to anger me and make me run out into the streets shouting a name. What I see here is Africa in peril, not Kony Kony Kony Kony.
This feels like a documentary, not propaganda.
Why are we not spreading THIS?
Thank you for making this interesting video. I pray Africa will evolve and become less ruthless and more kind. Many of them are kind people, but having rich natural resources causes the sad humankind greed to hurt a lot of people. And by greed I mean reach countries such as Western European and North American ones, not to mention the new comer Communist China who is now basically buying governments and countries with huge loans, interests and huge costly projects which cause the poor countries to become deeply in debt and thus completely at the mercy of the communists
@frantix22
a simplistic plan, one which helped so much in Somalia, right?
@nalaye0602 he came less than a year ago have u been listening?
These Uganda victims have such big hearts! oh, my heart pities and admires them! Look at the way he said it at the end of the video footage, he is willing to forgive the people who mutilated him for PEACE! :)
i feel so sorry for those ppl :(
@SortofSerious Who said that
God bless Africa.
Kony read a different bible than I did. That kr he stopped at the part where samson was slaying folks.
Please, look inside yourself for love and loveable responses! You are better than what I notice from these responses.
With kind regards.
One fact that many people are not aware is that, it was British Secret Service MI-6 who trained and armed LRA. Then Sudanese Army (SPA) used them to fight against South Sudanese Army (SPLA). As south Sudan has become independent, nobody needs LRA any more. There are many more complex dynamics involved with LRA issues. We can only talk about the abductions and brutalities caused by LRA, but we will never know the geopolitics behind it, the way we do not know the politics behind creating Bin Laden and then finishing him off when he was no more needed.
+Md Shariful Islam Where you a UN Peacekeeper? I am also Bangladeshi.
I have served more than 3 years in three different UN missions as peace keeper including Sudan. Send me your mail ID, may be we can communicate with each other. Thanks.
You are actually wrong in your submission. Your better have good knowledge on the issue before you make comments. You clearly show your support for the ruthless northern Sudan bashir in your submission. The kony you talked about was born in northern Uganda, a former primary school teacher and while on a job in Khartoum as a security guard, things did not work out and escaped with his gun. It is while in his local village in northern Uganda in his garden and having a gun at home, felt powerful. The man was having mental breakdown and flashbacks thinking his former employers are hunting dawn. It is when he turned to God, the a preacher and before you know it, a rebel leader and later on used by Khartoum to bring war to norther Uganda. Khartoum was with information of Kampala supporting the SPLA which was true. Khartoum WA on a program of extermination of blacks and especially the oil region of kodofan. The SPLA are now in government of southern Sudan. Khartoum lost and kony is 1000 miles
@ Christine:
Where did you find that I have supported Mr Bashir?
I think I've seen, heard and studied enough to make my comment. I have also worked with British guys who told the the facts about the LRA being trained by MI-5. I have worked in northern Uganda where LRA was born. I have talked with thousands of LRA sympathizers and victims of LRA atrocities. So my comments are not either biased by emotion nor I have any urge to hide facts. You need moral courage to acknowledge the mistakes done by your government or nation.
Do you have that courage?
Miroslaw Bogusz And I suppose your an expert on the subject
As I type this an expedition and manhunt is on the way for Phoney Kony.
Joseph Kony meet RYP (Robert Young Pelton) and his group of men and supporters. He WILL be brought to justice. It is just a matter of time. Search the term "Expedition Kony" to find out more. Good luck RYP!
@MyslSamx2
That was a part of my gripe with the Kony Campaign. It was not based off of popularity, but with annoyance. A lot of people seemed to mistake "raising awareness" for "Spam videos with a single word and a year without explaining at all".
Who was the journalist? She was incredible!
Where does LRA get its funds? Does anybody has an idea?
15:23
This is an example of how powerful the principles of the holy Book are when put to use. Had the international court not issued its warrants for the arrest of the top five commanders including Kony there is a good possibility they would have come out of the bush and behaved themselves after realizing their way of doing things had failed.
The only reason they could find it was because they had an ex-LRA serviceman as their guide. It was mentioned at the very start of the video. I can understand what you mean and I'm not being snarky or anything... Just reitterating something you may have missed. :)
@fran21ish A very sensible point!!
Anna. She was the BBC Correspondent in Uganda for years.
Its brings bad memories and I will not forget how my father in law was killed. MHSRIP
We can't ignore the brutality of the LRA (or any other body employing similar tactics), but what I see as being equally, if not more shocking is the unscrupulous dealings of companies supplying such groups with weaponry. The simple truth is that you need an arms supplier to keep an army going; and to think that dealers profit from the death and heinous mistreatment of others is enough to make one lose faith in humanity. Human nature i guess.
@Battery9876 Agreed. I use the same tactic to spread the word of GOD!
What exactly are they fighting for?
They're Christian extremists
@Jus5sBlaze That's really nice you audit non-profit firms for a living, must be so much fun. Please tell me more :)
KONY 2012 IS MARCHING ON... despite "some" haters, compared to the millions and millions of supporters!
Without kony2012,can u all find this video?without kony2012,do u all know about LRA?
@fixzimbabwe What a wonderful idea!
that guy Kony looks like a very hard target. I thought you're going to meet him and ask him : what's does he wants? To destroy the LRA, you have to catch this guy that call himself KONY. That sad to see all those things that happening in AFRICA.Sad...
So sad and inhuman...
Nothing beats the feeling of forgiveness. I guess it does make a great impact when you misinterpret the Bible.
Sad but me I bet the best way for this kids is to recruit them in military,I mean they are kids but what are they gonna do in their villages?
This is so fantastic, every child want to have Kalashnikov. Joseph Kony is better than Santa Klaus.
Some of the victims willing to Forgive them for their atrocities? hmm I have never seen anything like this before. But I think the decision for arrest warrants or Amnesty should be decided by the victims themselves before foreign countries decide to intervene.
He has a point when God wants people to return to him he makes them suffer and evil people have been used to help the Lord throughout history. I'm not saying that Joseph Coney is a prophet but I can
see how this suffering will be used for the Lord's greatness
Evil is happening everywhere. Visit any UK prison or detention centres and see how many "illegal immigrants" have been separated from thier own babies/children and placed in foster homes. Go to any prison visits and hear/ see the agonising cries of the children as their parents are led back into their cells after the visits. Some of these kids are adopted away.
Lets pray for God's kingdom to come...He is the only one who can ever wipe away our tears.
@ageep12 no they make prove of having a great heart by forgiving such a cruel ennemy
@WhiskySeventyFour So you're okay with children being abducted, right?
@amakon6 The troops from USA arent responsible for policing the entire world, and Uganda never opposed a threat to our nation. We were busy protecting ourselves from the chance of an attack from Iraq/Iran in 1987. Any other country couldve stepped in a stop this.
Oh, this has been up for around 2 1/2 years and I'm just now finding out about this? Now this is fucked....
sometimes he say that the spirit has said do this, then you cannot negotiate with the spirit..Kony has terribly brainwashed his soldiers. There is no spirit, the man is a human being just like you and I..
that man in a suit should be in prison, not in a Hotel.
): so sad
Kony 2012 sent me here.! :/
Dey do not know de way
didnt this guy get caught pulling his tallywacker??
@amakon6 I'm sorry but I wasn't even born back then. I'm only 16 years old, do you really think I'm out for the oil? I'm here because I wouldn't want this to happen to my brothers, friends or any one close to me. I'm here because this has to stop!
Do u know de wae????
Ok so Uganda army cant find them for 10 years.. but a camera team walks in and find LRA?
What people swallow that comes on TV.. its sickening ..
how was it for this journalist to sit with these people on the same table and having a meal......?
@Minatoleekrinaze
Great point. Look like people will believe just everything that has become... popular (being popular today with all the social media, much easier then ever before). I hope that one day we will learn to look at the facts and confirmed sources, rather then someone personal opinions.
I think it's good that they are given amnesty and that they are forgiven. As far as Kony is concerned he needs to be in an institution, locked up in a room by himself. He's crazy. Anyone who thinks that the spirits are talking to him is mentally ill. He thinks that he is living by the 10 commandments yet he is sinning constantly. You shall not murder, commit adultery you shall not steal to name a few. I also think that since he believes that he cannot die someone should put him to the test.
If you believe forgiveness and imprisonment will solve it you're fucking wrong, blinded the the mercies of your Christ. Kony should be wrapped up in barbed wire and dragged out into the plains to be bled out by a firing squad, the commanders under amnesty should be ravaged by the fucking Hyenas, their remains buried in the most wretched places where people empty their shit pales to be trapped in this world forever, never knowing the peace of the Gods above or the Serpents below.
DK6Marius Most of them had no choice. You're blaming the children for not fighting back. You're basically saying that all the abducted kids are condemned to death. These kids are forced to do such things, just like parents in the western world shape the way their children think.
mark yankasky But those officers were once the children abducted and brainwashed so even then...
let's hope that the 100 US servicemen can do some good there, but I can't help thinking that there is more to this story than what we hear. How can the LRA have lasted for so long without support, either moral or material ? When is "President" Musaveni going to retire ? What is this really about ?
Wooooop!...Good to hear from a teammate. Terrorist organizations must be stop but with American being the leading country on the issue, it will ultimately lead to american forces involvement. I just dont want to see good men die. I know is our job and life to fight against this threat. The future will tell what will happen.
Peace
If there is any one who knows about this story it's Anna !! Kony war is such a complicated issue that the rest of Uganda was resigned to splitting from the north as it had become cancerous yet no resources what so ever!!!
Wow
what the hell are you talkin bout sudan and nigeria are two of the most oil rich countries in the world as well as libya egypt angola gabon algeria the democratic republic of the congo tunisia and ivory coast all have a noticeable oil output
wow this is scary
Fight on! God's will is for us to fight! God spares no salvation to those who beg for it.Nore is he merciful to those who would beseech his benevolence. But it's all worth it. These petty requests are no invocation to god. They're death... To truely pray you must fight! And if we pray enough...God shall rain down upon us! Heralding a New Jerusalem! Pray upon, pray upon glorius prayer! Before such lowly souls. Before all we miserable weltches.God shall descend upon us! From his heavenly realm!
@fran21ish I think this is so true. We act like us and Africa are worlds apart, but we are all 1, and we need to act like it. For the LRA to go around killing anyone doesn't need to be done, know one deserves to live a life like that. America can take apart of Africa's issue because ours is only a ressesion compared to there problem it is nothing. This being done will not only lead for a world crisis to be over, but America can show what we are made of, and the mighty country we are.
@amakon6 welllllllllll i wasnt borne yet. and now u have my chance to help.
We better to look for the source of the problem instead, for the solution to the sustained damage!
You don't have to look too far. Europe started most of these conflicts.
11:30 look at that guys right eye........i feel bad for him
wait they reenact the war???
And why are those talking about abducting people free?
@vplazz mazz mineral resources do not matter, if there is instability. if the U.S through Afrocom can help us end Kony, the better. The oil issue can be of a latter stage, when there is peace and stability in Northern Uganda.
I wonder where is the UN?
after 7 years now world relaising!
@ThePersonallyRandom u cant get a virus of youtubevideo
Omg! What it wrong with people?
I am alive let them do what they want but God is there for everyone if I can ask where was the Un to stop the killing of the Childern of northern Uganda?????? Now they got what they want and the war stops by itself Where is Kony????? you can deceive those who don,t but not all Amen
I guess I should watch it all before asking questions.. lol
I don’t know how best to punish him
