This was a fun one. We brought out the Pentax 67 & Hasselblad X-Pan even though it didn't make the cut for this one. haha Shooting in a sounds stage is always fun but we had to get crazy with it. Beautiful lighting, Portra 800 & talented actors helped me bring the vision to life. I hope you all enjoy this one!

HEY GUYS! THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN MY NEXT VIDEO. WHOEVER CONTACTS YOU BEFORE THEN IS TRYING TO SCAM!
Thanks for clearing that up.
Wow....almost got scammed on that one....someone on Telegram who wants you to pay postage over PayPal.
nice work bro. What sound stage did you use? most sound stages don't have prebuilt sets. Do you have a website?
Thanks for the heads up.. I almost clicked on a telegram request..
@@2007rSix you have to be careful. Scammers are so sly nowadays
Your work is amazing, there’s no one out there representing our culture and black history in film and cinematography. Thank you
I truly appreciate you.
Which lenses are you using with the fx3 for video? @@MikeGrayFilm
Mike impressed by your creative vision on this video. My favorite was the girl starring out the back window of the car.
That shot of the woman staring out the rear window straight 🔥🔥🔥
loved the colour shots, that wet floor really helped to bring another dimension to the pics
The photo of the Lady looking though the back window of the car is an absolute winner of a photograph.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The pictures are beautiful. Love how the environment adds to the storytelling elements
This photo/video special Mike Gray Edition came out really good 🎉
Mike, every video, you bring a new flavor. I enjoy your work. the young lady in the back of the car picture is amazing. Let''s go!!!!
loved the black panther xpan shot in the car, it's nice to see that camera used for something other than landscapes!!!
WOW!!!! Loved this. Absolutely amazing. One thing I noticed, your married couple were from GA, the front tag on the car was Cali. Thanks for taking us behind the scene on this.
Stellar work! The last photo in the first shoot was one of the best photos I've seen in a while!
Stunning model, that rear screen shot was the winner for me. Keep up the great work, appreciate your hard work
Thanks Jason
The backseat window shot is my favourite. It looks like street photography, with perfect light conditions.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Blackness! Beautiful! So Creative!
I personally don't see anyone Black in this particular field who isn't "famous" in Hollywood making THIS type of content with fusing activism with art much besides someone like me.
Keep it up my G! Ur making waves!
I appreciate you bro!
the shot out the back window is my absolute favorite. you have one of the best channels I've come across in a long time, keep it up !
Thank you!!!
You killed it with the theme! Brought me back!
I was born in 71 and I am not sure I can recreate that scene the way you did. Very well done!!!!
Thanks a lot Warren!
This was truly a great great video! The winning shot is definitely the one with the lady looking out the back window. So much emotion in that shot and the vibe was incredible. The sets were like wow! That street corner with the Panthers was so cool and authentic. Bravo. This actually had me wishing this was a movie because that beginning with the Rodney King video playing in the background was perfect. Your acting skills was on point too! 😂👊🏾
Haha I appreciate you
I love the concept, particularly the colour images. I find, personally speaking, that colour works so much better in conveying mood with night shoots.
Totally agree!
MIKE. Your videos are just getting better and better. You are dominating right now.
Thank you!
Great collaboration, cool people. Always enjoy your creative photoshoot videos Mike Gray. Nice job!
Thanks again!
Love the use of colour for the first shoot and the black and white for the second. Really taking your photoshoots to another level by integrating a level of storytelling that many others wouldn't consider - but using your voice to keep it personal, which makes it all the better.
always love the creative story/act you put in these videos, the Earl Lloyd one was my favorite
Always enjoy you visions, the BTS-videos and not to mention the stunning photos! The Pentax67 system is hands down my all time favourite (close behind the Rolleiflex2.8f)! Congrats, very well done!
Thanks so much for that. Couldn't agree more!
Working with the homies on projects is the best! Love both sets, keep it up!
You are a talented man Mr Gray! I wish you every success.
My favorite was the shot of the model in the back window. Claiming that lens now, thank you.
Love the rear window shot! Love the 105 2.4 too
Love the old TV wall!
Inspired by the creativity behind the shoot. Made for some awesome stills that feel ripped right out of a movie! You should take a couple frames from this shoot an make a movie poster of your short film. Would be cool to see hung up.
I love your way to take a shot , everyday progressing !
Every episode inspires me to shoot more with the Pentax67. Thanks!
Great photos and cool setup! I grew up in 70s Berkeley and it wasn’t till recently that I learned of the other side of The Black Panthers story, so it was great to see this homage to them.
I think you need to give rock skipping another go in a future video.
lol lol
Omg! This shoot with with back window 😱😱😱
What an inspiring shoot! A total a dream state!
Dude, I'm amazed that someone as young as you is turning out content like this. I started on film in 1979 and you have rekindled that fire! Thank you!!
Wow the space is fabulous and that rear window shot slays!!! Would love to hear the sort of shots you thought of afterwards.
Always love your shot on Pentax 67!!!❤
Mike! you´re my major inspiration in film photography, even buy a Pentax 67ii, so grateful you show me a way!
The attention to detail is outstanding. Love the storytelling. Your videos always leave me feeling inspired
Thanks Bronya
love the compositon in the second frame so much
Every time I see one of your videos the colour, the tonality and the (natural, non-gaudy) richness make me crave going back from digital (don’t hate me!) but now also the black and white. It might seem crazy, given we view it on a digital display, but whatever people say I think it’s hard to get that rich, luxurious look from digital, whatever the processing, presets etc.
Knocked it out of the park with this one. Direction too, with those authentic looks on the faces and in the eyes of your talented performers. Just ace.
I appreciate you
Never know what to expect on your videos...thanks for mixing it up. Also a Pentax 6x7 user so I always enjoy seeing how you use yours.
See it’s work like this that makes photography art
Thank you.
That’s big time! The b&w are so dope!
Liked the video immediately after seeing just the first few photos, the vision, and the effort that went into it even before knowing what the giveaway is about. I'm normally a fan of natural lighting but this shoot just inspired me to consider studio shoots! Thank you Mike and please continue doing what you love to do!
Thank you.
Great work Mike! I love the storytelling and the soundstage. Your ambition is endless and sooo motivating to see. Keep chasing your dreams!
Thanks so much Calvin!
So creative. I thoroughly enjoyed this time well spent.
For me, your best shot is the panthers one with the driver looking at the camera! The color, the vibe, the framing and expression, it's all there!
I really enjoyed the short film! I’d love to see your concept videography in the music realm.
Mike, This video is all i love about, the vibe, the colors, and even the acting is really good, can't wait what to come next!
Very inspiring. Really loved the idea and the execution of the ideas into photos. Keep rocking and inspiring!
I love story telling and that you always do that in the videos you put together. Photography is telling a story and giving insight and this turned out A1
Thank you so much
The concept of this is incredible! Brilliant work!!!
Thank you!
Seriously great video! I hope you have fun with the X-Pan, and digging the car and lighting in this episode! Can’t wait to see what you do in the future!
Dope concept bro! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 That shot of her in the rear window is perfection!!!
Daaaaaang. What a video. Love the intro, the sets and of course the images. 👏😌
This whole concept was dope! Cant wait to see the rest of it.
love the video and i have always liked your transition! i was really blown away from the colors when you got to 1992 and the black and whites from the black panther set were dope...thoroughly enjoyed your video and photos!!
Please do more of these type of shoots!
Fantastic shoot, I am a fan of B&W but in this case I really prefer the color version, awesome lighting.
Lighting is on point. The videos you put out are very inspiring, it’s always wanting me to elevate my work.
Loved the flick of the girl behind the window ❤
👌🏾👌🏾
Loved the photos, vibe & lighting! ❤🔥
Hey Mike, saw the first Video around one year ago and loved it, it was the Pentax vs. Hasselblad in the desert. Since then i‘ve started watching your vids. Every time you dropped a new banger i had to show it my friends and tell them about your work. And another thing, it’s crazy how you creat videos which i don’t just watch cause of the technical or art aspect no, also because of you as a person and your character. There aren‘t many creators wich achieve this kind of sympathy level! Keep up the good work Bro!
Outstanding, Mike! Keep pushing the envelope...
Hi Mike, I love your videos! The storytelling...and the beautiful fotos! Keep on going, greetings from Hamburg ✌️
I just discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago and apart from the great photos you shoot it‘s just always so much fun to watch your videos. Thank you!
Thanks so much Samy!
Captured the 90s mood perfectly! Amazing direction, beautiful shots 😁
Thanks so much 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hi Mike, nice lighting and reflections in your photos. Thanks for your videos!
thanks!
Are you kidding meeeeeeeee. My brother 🤝 the work is needed for the cultureeeee. Amazingly done Mike Gray 🎉
Thank you. Gotta let em' know!
That's a cool af shoot, incredible lighting too
The lighting was fire !!! Loved the colors
Really incredible work Mike. Your period pieces are so strong and layered. Keep creating
Thank you.
Bro's intelligence and natural direction has improved a ton from when I first started watching on the Wyoming shoot video. Good work brotha!
Truly a day 1. Damn - thank you!
Amazing photographs and short film, always excited to see what you create. I admire the huge effort and quality of your work and the fact that you always acknowledge everyone involved 🙌👏
Thanks a ton!
Great video man , favourite shot: girl behind the back window. Keep on shooting like this!
Hey Hollywood. Great shoot. That car is dope.
Always great watching a new drop on this channel. Definitely serve as a study guide for my photography
Especially love the b&w portrait with the 3 guys. Something about that framing, badass wardrobe and the lens choice that make it so interesting
Keep up the good work. Love the vibe and colours from both shoots
The black and white shot of the couple looking at each other wins it for me! Awesome as always Mike!
Thanks for the inspiration. I think we forget to work with larger concepts due to various preconceived limitations. Your conceptual shoots are always highly entertaining and informative. 💪🏾💪🏾
Dope work Mike as always. Keep getting after it and letting us be apart of the journey. Can’t wait for the next drop!
Appreciate it!!
The shots at 12:53 and 13:00 are fantastic!
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I love the lighting on this shoot. It´s gorgeous. Maybe you should invest into some continuos LED light fixtures. I my opinion it gives one more control over the lighting compared to an off-camera-flash. It´s just easier to create interesting lighting ratios and use color contrast to your advantage.
Incredible photos and video, with an important story. Defo agree on the bigger shoots, it didn't feel possible at fast but doing more is possible just requires planning before hand a bit more
Yes indeed!
Great work Mike you're always doing something amazing.
Thank you
Love the first concept a lot. Great work.
Thanks
The second set of photos go haaaaard! Gaffers need more attention tbh!
Yes they do!!!
Dope shots! Film cameras rule!
Damn that is such a great video. I love the way you can tell a story, plus the photos turned out great.
What an awesome video Mike, you are such a great inspiration, I am loving your vision, concept, creativity, you are killing it 🔥🔥🔥
You cant't miss a frame with the Pentax 6X7! It's a beast camera :) Great video editing, by. the way.
Thanks!
Another great video! I'm always looking forward to watching these videos! Great work!
Thanks again!
THIS GOES HARD, FAM! Pentax 67 for the Win. Such beautiful images captured. Something about those converted black and whites spoke to me but honestly I love EVERY FRAME!
thanks!
Always an inspiration with your creative direction and how you capture it!
Thank you!
Love you roll with the punches, dedication and creativity so great!!
Thank you so much!
@@MikeGrayFilm you’re welcome. Well deserved.
This was amazing Mike, thanks so much for all the work you do! Can't wait to see the next video!
Thanks so much for watching.
