Terrific performances in what's a not-to-be-missed film. Mr. Bachchan's Hindi diction is nonpareil. Pannu's transformation from a self-assured young lady to one who almost doubts herself is sublime.

I started out NOT liking Sucharita's reviews- I wanted Anupama and her sane chatter on movies, what to watch, and what not to watch. Well, Sucharita, I've got to hand it to you- now, I watch your reviews before watching Anupama's and I always get a good laugh watching your antics :-). Thank you for the infotainment.
Suchitra you are awesome, without revealing the story u review the film. Beautifully, highlight the highs and lows of the movie.Simple review u don't have to open a dictionary or feel like ur attending a literature class unlike others.
Best review show till date i had watched all ur episod even of old movies juts bcs u r a awsome host keep going u have a long way to go all the best

Though I'm still skeptical about the preaching parts (read : shoving 'morals' down the audience throats), I'm quite excited for this. Also, it's nice to see the cast not paling in front of Amitabhji (Just like Piku) .

Hey Sucharita, loved that u responded. I didn't mean Bachchan is a recluse. What I meant was, unlike an SRK or an Akshay, he doesn't necessarily hard sell his movies. But with Pink, he made an exception. So convinced is he about the subject that he has been promoting it on the front foot! And i loved that. Cos, tiny gems like these deserve all the steam they can gather...!

'Too real'??? A movie in which every character was a caricature, is called 'too real'. Oh common, bollywood needs better reviewers, who bring objective reviewing and not just people who are good speakers and review by having a prejudice for the plot of the movie.
Even though some characters were somewhat problematic how was every character a caricature..?
@@anitaekka6454 the girls were shown very weak and with high moral standards, the traditional hindi serial protagonists. The antagonists too did not have a human side and we're doing mostly villain things throughout without any guilt or shame. The politician dad was doing what they do best in bollywood. Police was doing what they do best in our movies. The good at heart landlord inspite of the trouble caused by the goons, did not ask the girls to shift. And the most amazing part, he was the girls' best bet against those boys, but sadly he got forgotten because amitabh bachchan had to give that tedious rulebook which did nothing good for the case. Final nail in the coffin, the girls won the case. Happy ending everybody. Amitabh Bachchan saves the day with his stupid logic. Bollywood courts still don't give a damn to logic.
@@a123mishraI agree that the antagonist were all one note but i don't think the girls were weak they were just normal people stuck in a terrifying situation and for the most part their conflict seemed genuine the courtroom scenes were over the top and illogical but i guess it was somewhat intentional to make the message clear.
Amitabh Bachchan's character was a bit annoying though.
@@anitaekka6454 I guess the problematic part for me was the way the girls were presented through the movie. It seemed that they could do no wrong. They were proven right even from the beggining of the movie. With an approach like that the courtroom sequence made little sense. The flashbacks during the end credits hardly added value to the entire narrative due to the same issue. What should have been a good movie turned into a ekta kapoor cliche fest in no time. But I agree with you, Amitabh Bachchan was annoying AF.
@@a123mishra I guess we have to disagree on the girls because i thought they were well developed characters who felt like real human beings. And even though this film was flawed it was still an important film because it made people think about the current situation which is a rare achievement for an Indian film.

Sucharita, i agree with EVERY word u spilled. HARDHITTING script, BALLSY director, EXCEPTIONAL acting & a STERLING piece of cinema. I hv loved how d usually reclusive BigB put his weight behind this film to promote it. And a salute to Tapsee Pannu. Last year d cameo in Baby. And now Pink. Such an intuitive actor. Chashme Badoor! ;)

I will disagree with the reviewer. When you build a story to be a court room drama, you need to know how court operates.
was so fucking disappointed with film. Any one with a half a brain would know that the writer had no clue what a court room drama is.
It has so many flaws. i will name them now:
1- Judge seems very apparently getting convinced of accused innocence by unnecessary emotional BHASHANS by defending layer (Amitabh)
2-Amitabh apart from one serious cross questioning did not attempt to prove or disprove anything by way of fact to defend the accused. His sole court proceeding was one big emotional bhashan. Only in india you can get decisions in your favor by that.
3-Judge seems to forget that he is judge and starts to act as usher calling the witness
4-Each layer said "Objection" many times without really saying what the objection was to. Its like saying objection in court is enough to discredit the ongoing argument.
5-fuck all of that is that one accused admits of soliciting and no one gives a damn and she is scott free although the case in proceeding also include charge of soliciting.
6. FIR is against all three girls for soliciting and for one accused for both soliciting and attempt of murder but the other 2 girls are just sitting in court without any case on them.
7-The judge in all his wisdom finally decides in favor of defendant althouh one of the defendant had admitted to soliciting but who cares it was only admission of crime under oath but he does stop there, Judge also passes the penal judgment on the applicant.. what the fuck is that.. how can you pass a judgement on the applicant... even if its proved that applicant has a false case...you have to try the applicant in a separate court proceeding and then the judgement can be passed.
Overall people who have any sense of court room drama will be disappointed.
The movie had the potential, 1st half was brilliant. Maybe the message about woman's consent that the director want give is delivered but 2nd half was a joke.
even if it isn't funny, I don't care, I will watch it coz it's two things I thoroughly enjoy - films and sucharitaaaaaa!

That awkward moment when you are having dinner with family and a news channel is going on and suddenly a promo of this movie comes where amitji is talking about the girls sex life.
Seriously?? Pink has got UA rating. It means you can watch this with your family. And such films should be watched with family only.

I think this review would have turned out much better if not for ur prejudiced mindset towards the final message of the movie thus ignoring the distorted characterization , lack of a strong connected storyline and a very poor evidence based court judgement at the end....
all m saying is
movie ke aakhri ke do teen lines ( giving out the message ) = GREAT
everything else which makes it 2 hours long = highly disappointing
p.s it's sad to see the pink movie bandwagon everyone jumps on and prejudicing their opinions coz of the mass following/ "final message craze"
thereby not criticizing the movie as a whole...
