CBBC channel launch day breakdown

- Well it couldn't all go to plan. In the early days of the CBBC channel one of the digital presenters would join one of the BBC1 presenters over in Studio 9 from 6pm for the final hour. Here Ortis and Jake cope admirably with a couple of Miami 7 problems. Firstly the show fails to start - the "Subtitles" logo would usually appear just before the show began, and I think when Ortis laughs he is being told of the problem. Listen out for Jake saying "what was that?!" as the titles begin! Then after it finally does start, it falls off air mid-way, so our intrepid presenters end up back on air again for a bit before linking into an S Club 7 video to fill time. Finally it's over to the first Newsround Lite - no prizes for guessing where they sourced the Will Young clip from. I've edited the whole sequence down by taking everything S Club 7-related out.

i love the start of it when they realize something's gone wrong, and they just keep the bit going with the music and everything. even something like CBBC got the professional touch to it all rather than just "try to switch over anyway"
at 2:41 if you play it on 0.25x speed, you will see a green glitchy version of the breakdown card which appears after, with purple text.

If the subtitles thing shows where the programme would've started playing then presumably that wouldn't've been said till they were meant to be off-air. I looks to me like Jake deliberately fades and mumbles just before that, thinking the prog is gonna fade up, then they carry on talking normally.
I also think Jake gets told when Ortis is doing his 'announcement' and Jake leans back and starts saying 'yeah', 'yeah' as he seems distracted then.
