Are you team Overcast or Team Golden Hour? It seems like the vote is split pretty evenly? 🤗
I'm team "whatever light is available". Variety is always welcome
I was just going to type this then I saw your comment XD
Golden Hour for sure! Love the oranges and reds and what the light does to the surroundings 🙌🏾
It's the best part for sure! :)
I mostly shoot sports, specializing in ski and snowboard photography. My favorite time to shoot is on sunny bluebird days, Typically between 10-2 with the winter sun.Snow works as a fantastic reflector. Thanks for the video Anthony.
Snow fills in all those shadows perfectly! :)
For architectural photography its perfect if you can get mostly overcast on location, with great looking clear, dramatic skies in the distance. Best of both worlds.
Great point! Back in University I would render out all my architecture projects with cloudy skies to get that same dramatic look!
Beyond portraits and landscapes, what other types of photography might benefit more from golden hour lighting compared to overcast conditions?
Automotive looks cool at golden hour, some product shots also look good with a natural golden hour backlight!
Im team both cause both types of light be hittin
I’m team “experience and capture the moment”… don’t get me wrong I’m all for planning for a specific aesthetic especially if it’s to keep on brand for a specific company, but at the same time isn’t there something to be said about working in all conditions and treating it like a puzzle to get the best image you can? Basically, I’m saying to not constrain yourself to just one “lighting team“… that being said, I’m not a professional, and each one of us just has to do what’s right for us.
Variety definitely teaches you to flex your photography skills!
I live in Oregon and we usually only have overcast. which I'm very thankful for. team overcast!
When it doubt you can't go wrong with overcast!
I would rather prefer blue hour 🌌
hmmmm. Might need to do some blue hour Lightroom edits next :)
@@AnthonyGugliotta absolutely🌝
As a sports photographer, I’m team any light that allows me to shoot without going bonkers with ISO!
What do you set you white balance to?
Awesome
I’m sorry but the thumbnail is fucking hilarious. Nice video
i like Golden Hour because of Best Soft Sunshine ☀ & Long Shadow 🖼 5:03
i love golden hour
Team Overcast here.
as a beginner ,I am a point and shoot the cherishable scenes team😅
I prefer sunrise/sunset especially with the drone. Overcast is okay
Team Golden Hour here…
as a people photographer, direct sunlight means a lot of flash power, overcast less power ... but bth looks like shit If you have to do photos and need more than 5min without flash XD.
Overcast without flash gives horrible eye "holes" or means a shitload of additional editing.
Overcast is better for most of the cases but for day clicks with a lot of exposure, golden hour is better
Both are
Golden hour because of all the sunset/ rise effect
"So which ones better"
Idk🤷
Both! :)
Team Blue Hour. 💪
I sometimes bat for Team Midday Hard Light, if I'm doing black and white though.
😎
Ofcourse golden hour(for me)
I thought it was golden hour and blue hour
I prefer overcast for consistency 🤌
