      Titanic Honor & Glory mentioned recently in one of their Q & A videos that if you get into a lifeboat, that you can still watch the ship sink in real time. They said that hopefully it will be from the perspective of whatever lifeboat you are in.

    this made me cry very much, just to know that all of the crew members were doing their job down below in the ship and at one point they probaly would have known the ship was going down but they still did their job. The light going out a few seconds (in this video) before the breakup and then coming back up. the ship in a angle on 23 degrees and the electriciens still trying to keep the lights running. if that doesnt make you silent then nothing will. a few details wrong but that really doesnt matter when you see everything going downhill fast.

  • @elijahredacted8196
    @elijahredacted8196 Před 6 lety +1

    You know what, i think its actually genius to have the sinking sped up instead of time skipping, i think it conveys a sense of quickness that other simulations don't have, for many people 2 hours can fly by in a second, and I think thats what they were aiming for, especially you would have had the belief that this ship was UNSINKABLE so it makes the reality so much harsher and colder, to have it slip away do quickly, as it would have felt very quick. Knowing to the best of your knowledge that your loved one was still on that deck. I also think it shows just how quickly the situation devolved after this point. Up until then it was..in rough terms slow, and the night was going at a leisurely pace, but after slipping down the side of the ship and rowing out yard after yard, so see the ship slope ever increasingly to the front. And the yells of those on board, it's something that will never truly be captured but this, and the upcoming THAG will have come and will come mighty close

  • @slepey_

    Even without a VR headset this was still a powerful experience. Like a lot of people, I have always wondered what that night was like. Technology keeps bringing us closer to an authentic experience. Everytime I see the ship break in two, I can't help but think about the crewman in the engine rooms keeping the power on. The whole thing would have been a nightmare for everyone involved, but down below decks it must have been unfathomable.

    Watching the final moments in this video made me realise the similarities between the Titanic disaster and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The moment the lights went out and the screams from those in the lifeboats and those on board the ship filled the air, it instantly made me think of reactions of those in the streets of New York as the World Trade Centers collapsed. I have no words to describe the emotional dread that I am feeling right now. No movie or simulation can ever depict the true horror of that fateful night. This was well done.

  • @AlexandruCarjan
    @AlexandruCarjan Před 6 lety +8

    I have to say while there are a bit too many similarities between how the emergency lights came on before the break up just like HG will depict it, and how strangely some of the crew dialogue is like what HG described, I got to say HG has a competition now to get the people on the ship just right and natural, and not feel out of place. Titanic VR handled the "calm before the storm" moment of the passenger qiute well , and the people on board the lifeboats look quite good, and the voice acting was quite good as well.
    The biggest fear i have with Honor and Glory is that the ship will look stunning and real but the people will just look wierd, from animations to how they look compared to the quality of the ship, and that they will ruin the experience

    • @VelociraptorsOfSkyrim
      @VelociraptorsOfSkyrim Před 6 lety +2

      Alexandru Carjan To be fair, there is going to be similarities since both games are going for accuracy.

    • @AlexandruCarjan
      @AlexandruCarjan Před 6 lety +3

    • @VelociraptorsOfSkyrim
      @VelociraptorsOfSkyrim Před 6 lety +4

      Alexandru Carjan Maybe. I'm just hesitant to start hurling accusations when both teams are going for accuracy, though Honor and Glory are stricter on that end.
      Is there evidence for this or did they just look at the model and assumed they copied?

    • @AlexandruCarjan
      @AlexandruCarjan Před 6 lety +1

    Fantastic to see the emotion in the scene. I was a bit let down that the breakup occurred in the wrong position though. The ship should have split just before the number 3 funnel.

    That was an amazing video spammals and respect to the developers for creating such a detailed version of the sinking, despite the speed of it.

    The gunshots at 11:35 seems similar to the gunshots the officer made when he shot the passenger when people were getting out of hand. In the James Cameron movie titanic

    Awesome. And that’s a very interesting thought and comment about Hitchens and the later enquiry.
