If there was a way to control the speed of text input that would be useful for these types of situations where input can be throttled.

Myself and three others join the meeting and while pre-show music plays we chitty chat in Zoom. Then, I hit the button on Stream Deck for my intro. At the end of the intro, it autoswitches to our 4-dudes Talking scene, but I have to mouse click JOIN AUDIO on Zoom. I have tried Virtual Audio Cable and VoiceMeeter Banana and they are waaay to cumbersome. I just want Desktop audio and have the Host Zoom account NOT join audio until it's go time is the bet way I've found (for my feeble mind). There is no Keyboard Shortcut to Join Audio in Zoom. Anyone know whats the difference between adding a folder using "Create Folder" or a profile using "Switch Profile"? I only have 6 keys on the mini so I want the best way to add more functions by switching between various groups of six buttons. I think one button is going to be wasted having a folder or profile button there though so only 5 actual functions per page.

    • @RobbieSko
      @RobbieSko Před 3 lety +3

      I'd recommend using Switch Profile and having lots of saved profiles. As you improve your setup, you will make updates to your most used buttons. and if you have folders embedded, even if they are copied, they will not auto update. Whereas if you use switch profiles and have different profiles for different actions, that will update for wherever the switch to profile is enabled. For example, I have an OBS profile, and within there I want one click to get to my Philips Hue profile. If I was in my Zoom profile, I also want quick access to my lights profile. Folders would have to be updated each time if you copy and paste, whereas the switch profile will always go to the latest update of that profile. Go for profiles! Hope that helps.

    Bought the stream deck+ today... have yet to find this useful in the slightest bit. If I was a streamer using OBS all the time, then yeah, it would be great. However, I'm not. So unless you're streaming, it's not worth the money. At least not that I have found. Zoom controls? $10 a year to mute your calls. For example, yeah, I can press a button to launch an app, but if my hands are already on the keyboard, why not use alt+tab, or if on a mac use Alfred to launch an app. I don't see the productivity gain for everyday business use. I'd like to hear an example of how this can be used for everyday business use than alt+tab and launching of an app. (and if you're on a mac using alfred, you know exactly what I'm talking about)

      So get a couple of them(they chain), or get the big 30-odd key version? Or maybe be more creative, more selective with how you use it. I've setting mine up to: launch my 'New Ticket/SR' window auto-populated with some required basic details, couple of quick text entries, screenshot button, auto-launch and start recording OBS, mute/volume/webcam buttons for Teams/Zoom/etc... I also have two crypto tickers, a CPU, and a 'take a break' timer/alarm. And that's just my first page of shortcuts. I also use it for gaming after I'm done with my work day!

    • @Hoops-Senior
      @Hoops-Senior Před rokem

      @@nicholasscholten I don't stream at all.
      On my 15-button Stream Deck2, I have a profile for my DAW, which speeds up editing my audio-only podcasts, another for Excel for selecting/comparing ranges and for concatenating cells etc., and another for my desktop.
      My desktop profile is an App launcher, a clock, a controller for my office and desk lights (normally motion controlled after sunset, but sometimes I want them on before sunset). I have three timer buttons (45/30/10 minutes). some text paste buttons that work in any text app, so I don't have to program the same quick-text or auto-replace into every App whilst remembering the keystrokes. I have another folder from my desktop profile that opens and displays different price lists and technical spec PDFs for me... one click and no searching.
      It really does have many uses outside of streaming. The problem is all the 'reviews' and 'tutorials' seem to focus on using Zoom or MS Teams video, so it took me some time to discover other uses for general office work, but now it is really useful to me.
