Jackson, jeez I'm 3 weeks behind on replies, its never ending YOLO!! Mate that will be the best coin I ever find with a metal detector in my lifetime. There aren't too many coins out there that would top that! Makes me very proud to watch this video and look at the rewards for the last 10 years dedication. I would hope this video might re-inspire you to get back out detecting again and re-kindle your love for the best hobby out there (ie better than motorbikes and better than tattoos haha)

Hey John, thanks mate, that's 10 years of my life right there. Finds like these are exactly why I dedicate so much of my life metal detecting on those wonderful pasture fields. I might not find Celtic, or Roman, or Saxon, but the things I do find are in amazing condition. No greater feeling in the world than pulling out the ground a beautiful gold coin that's been sat there for hundreds of years. I thought you had already found a gold hammered coin, a Dutch Ducat or what ever it was? A belated Happy Christmas and New Year to you and your family too mate, see you in 2024 I hope

I have found viking gold but not goldcoin 😄 So nostalgic to see you swing the Garret as well back in the days. I spent way too much time with the Garret myself but I never sold it and one day im bored I wanna dust it off and go detect with it for a day just for fun. Congrats on all the epic finds. Hi Paul, if you fast forward 10 years of going metal detecting every weekend, sometimes twice a week, knocking on doors, finding new areas, finding good areas, you'll make finds like these too. Most of these actually came from the same area, the same town!! And with my old battered AT Pro. Maybe need to start detecting that area again!!

Your finds cabinet is proof that dedication and perseverance to the hobby can pay off with the most spectacular selection of lovely finds, well done Gareth. The only thing I can say is that if those finds were mine, then your Gold Georgian fob seal would have been number one overall, they are so rare to find and were so personal that it just makes the find slightly more special than a gold coin, but that is only my opinion.

I do have some nice scenic permissions, you will never see me metal detecting on ploughed fields or arrable fields. I only ever metal detect on hilly pasture fields, as this is the type of scenery I like to be surrounded by and like to make CZcams films. This type of land provides finds in the best conditions, that have not been destroyed by the plough. Thanks again, and I hope to see you again. G
Agreed, I need to get more pasture permissions, almost 20 years for me on arable and only 1 gold coin to my name and yes the condition 100% better in pasture than arable. Bumped into you at RCM, think you were with Ben that day (very hot as I recall) 2 years ago. Cheers

Top of everyone’s list is the hammered gold but mine is a full gold Guinea I’d even take half a Guinea😂 stunning coins mate! Hi mate, yes making this video I realised that almost all these amazing finds were made with my trusty AT Pro. But almost all from the same area / town - which I don't detect anymore as its 45 minute drive away now. I couldn't use an old Garrett again, far too heavy and unpleasant to use to compared to the super light weight XP's
@@Greengrass1972 I don't know of anyone that uses one. Everyone I know swing Minelabs, XP's and Noktas. I used to love Garrett as a manufacturer, but they are so far behind now its unreal

great finds, my best solver is my only hammered H2 1185 (flo dated it from monier and mint, my best gold and only gold is a vivky 1/2 sov (even though I did mark it with spade), silver with 400i, gold with orx)

About every 3 years when I have a few kilos, I take them to my Natwest bank and pour them in a machine that counts it all, then puts it straight into my account free of charge. Hiya I just started doing metal detecting I was giving a Garrett 300i I live in kent now which I no is full of Roman Saxon Viking relic and coins found couple things on the beach but not much please any info would be grateful cheers Kev
Hi Owain, we always need new permissions, something I will be looking to achieve going into 2024. I have a massive external hard drive packed with at least 7 or 8 full days detecting filmed, ready to edit. I fancied doing something different and sonething new. Always like to mix it up rather than upload the same old tripe

Jackson, jeez I'm 3 weeks behind on replies, its never ending YOLO!! Mate that will be the best coin I ever find with a metal detector in my lifetime. There aren't too many coins out there that would top that! Makes me very proud to watch this video and look at the rewards for the last 10 years dedication. I would hope this video might re-inspire you to get back out detecting again and re-kindle your love for the best hobby out there (ie better than motorbikes and better than tattoos haha)

Hellooo, yes I have been blessed, but I must point out that is 10 years of my life right there and tens of thousands of hours in the fields. Finds like this are incredibly rare and hard to find. This is exactly why I only ever metal detect on pasture fields, as this is where you find coins and this is where you find coins in pristine condition

I might not find Celtic, or Roman, or Saxon, but the things I do find are in amazing condition. No greater feeling in the world than pulling out the ground a beautiful gold coin that's been sat there for hundreds of years. I thought you had already found a gold hammered coin, a Dutch Ducat or what ever it was? A belated Happy Christmas and New Year to you and your family too mate, see you in 2024 I hope

I have found viking gold but not goldcoin 😄 So nostalgic to see you swing the Garret as well back in the days. Hi Paul, if you fast forward 10 years of going metal detecting every weekend, sometimes twice a week, knocking on doors, finding new areas, finding good areas, you'll make finds like these too. Most of these actually came from the same area, the same town!! And with my old battered AT Pro. Maybe need to start detecting that area again!!

Your finds cabinet is proof that dedication and perseverance to the hobby can pay off with the most spectacular selection of lovely finds, well done Gareth. The only thing I can say is that if those finds were mine, then your Gold Georgian fob seal would have been number one overall, they are so rare to find and were so personal that it just makes the find slightly more special than a gold coin, but that is only my opinion.

I do have some nice scenic permissions, you will never see me metal detecting on ploughed fields or arrable fields. I only ever metal detect on hilly pasture fields, as this is the type of scenery I like to be surrounded by and like to make CZcams films. This type of land provides finds in the best conditions, that have not been destroyed by the plough. Thanks again, and I hope to see you again. G
Agreed, I need to get more pasture permissions, almost 20 years for me on arable and only 1 gold coin to my name and yes the condition 100% better in pasture than arable. Bumped into you at RCM, think you were with Ben that day (very hot as I recall) 2 years ago. Cheers

Yes mate, a top 10 hammered silver coins and a top 10 artefact would be a great couple of videos. I'll probably do the artefact one next time I can muster some time and don't have any other content to upload. Hi mate, yes making this video I realised that almost all these amazing finds were made with my trusty AT Pro. But almost all from the same area / town - which I don't detect anymore as its 45 minute drive away now. I couldn't use an old Garrett again, far too heavy and unpleasant to use to compared to the super light weight XP's

@@Greengrass1972 I don't know of anyone that uses one. Everyone I know swing Minelabs, XP's and Noktas. I used to love Garrett as a manufacturer, but they are so far behind now its unreal

An amazing video, and a great video to show what every detectorist dreams off, hopefully some day my collection is like that. Definitely some absolute stunners there my favourites have to be the George 4th sixpence, young head Victoria half sov and the Henry 7th, hammered truly amazing coins. great finds, my best solver is my only hammered H2 1185 (flo dated it from monier and mint, my best gold and only gold is a vivky 1/2 sov (even though I did mark it with spade), silver with 400i, gold with orx)
Hi Dave, sounds like a couple of amazing finds there. I have been very lucky with gold coins, but I firmly believe its because of the locations where I metal detect, 100% pasture fields, hilly footpath fields, that's where the gold coins are. As always thanks so much for watching. G

About every 3 years when I have a few kilos, I take them to my Natwest bank and pour them in a machine that counts it all, then puts it straight into my account free of charge. I reckon I've paid in around £2,000 over the years. Good little earner. Scrap metal is also a good earner. Thanks again and I hope to see you on my next episode. G

Hi Owain, we always need new permissions, something I will be looking to achieve going into 2024. I have a massive external hard drive packed with at least 7 or 8 full days detecting filmed, ready to edit. I fancied doing something different and sonething new. Always like to mix it up rather than upload the same old tripe
