This...movie...was...AWESOME!!! LOL I watched this all the time almost 15 years ago!! My sister sent me this link and I burst out singing this song I haven't heard in over a decade!
I remember seeing this as a little kid&this particular scene/song stood out for me. At the time, I was not acquainted with the very powerful/special talent of Waylon Jennings, his deep voice & gifted musicianship/songwriting. This was a time in country music ('Highwaymen' era) that I liked the most. Now that I'm older, the song has not lost its edge, but rather grown in stature and fun. It has a good message, great beat, and Waylon's voice soars. It was a great moment with others singing along.
People who think certain things in life are impossible need to listen to this song. Whether you are taking a test or trying to find a job, or losing weight, or whatever! If you think its impossible, listen to this song. Don't ever give up!

I LOVE this movie. It came out when I was 11 and I got made fun of for loving it so much. I'm 33 now and still love it! Just bought the DVD for my 8 and 5 year old! Also gave me an appreciation for Waylon Jennings. My favorite part in this movie is the part at the end with Cookie Monster and the crooks sleeping and he nearly wakes them up trying to get the cookies.

It would be so freaking awesome if one of the shows on the History Channel or Travel Channel at least brought it out of storage to showcase it today and try to give a value on it. If it still ran, and had all the parts from the movie, that sucker would be priceless to Sesame Street/Muppet fans.
I just saw Cinemassacre's review of Elmo in Grouchland. Never saw that movie, but it looked AWFUL!!! I needed to see this again to clear my head. Oh sweet childhood.

I like this song too, even though I'm well past my Sesame Street watching years. Just wanted to nitpick about something, not that it matters much - looks like Maria took her cue to start flailing her arms a few seconds to early, seems like she is waving her arms before the car really starts shaking from going off the road. Just wanted to point that out and found it a little funny.

This is the perfect kids movie. Its colorful, funny, easily to follow, and it teaches a great moral about racial acceptance.

Did you all know Waylon Jennings died today at the age of 79. I'm a rocker but know that because my dad likes country music plus heard it on the news.
He died in 2002 at age 64.
