Me ohhh🎉
Me ooo
Caribbean and African cultures ao similar. I'm Nigerian and I have a close friend from Trini and we have so much in common. And I can't wait to go to a Caribbean Carnival.
Well it makes sense since Africans were also sent there as slaves. And when slavery ended in 1886 Europe dumped majority of their former slaves there and many continued to be enslaved

This song plays a lot in Trinidad and would be a heavy contender for the Trinidad and Tobago international Soca Monarch for 2014. Would be great if this artist could come to my island for the Carnival next or collaborate with artists like Machel Montano or Bunji Garlin. It has a nice soca vibe!!!!!!
My favorite part is when he says "big calabash" haha. My first time ever hearing ass being referred to as calabash & I love it lol.
That's how we roll 😂😂😂😂

experience271 And this Ladies and Gents is the height of ignorance and plain, stupidity and anger. We're good being Caribbean people and the diverse nature that we have become due to our historical influences. And frankly, we're good if you stay in your section and we'll enjoy thriving in ours. Calm down. It's not that serious.
experience271 wHO THE HELL ARE YOU? I DONT KNOW YOU , BUT DAMN, YOU ARE JUST SO STUPID AND IGNORANT....I PRAY NO ONE TAKES YOU SERIOUS ON HERE.
experience271 I am St. Lucian and I reject that claim! We are NOT destitutes, We do go to school are educated from early childhood to tertiary education. Crime is an issue yes, but how dare you identify us as such. You must have on some really tainted lenses to deem a great nation of loving people as always angry. Clearly your facts are skewed.
i am a trinidadian lady and i love music i dont give a shit whos trying to claim it. we do have similar cultures, even foods, and dance movements, it doesnt matter who conquered who we are all here and diverse now. lets celebrate the opportunity for variety!
i like Trinidadians like nikki minaj lol
We all Africans so we have similar cultures..
It doesn't matter where you are coming from so long you are a black man/woman. We all originated from Africa. My love to Africans all over the globe...Jamaica, Grenada, Virgin island, Haiti, Dominica republic, African American etc....hope you forgive me if I don't mention your country. ONE LOVE

To everyone saying that Afro beats is copying Soca, I just want to let you know that whether you agree or not, ALL CARIBBEAN PEOPLE are AFRICAN. WE HAVE THE SAME FUCKING CULTURE. DONT BE MAD AT EACH OTHER, BE MAD AT WHITE PPL FOR STEALING YOU FROM AFRICA. We are SO similiar, all of carribean culture is influenced by african culture. YOU ARE AFRICAN. that is all.
I'm black American and jamaican . But not all so called "African Americans" came from Africa. Jamaicans yeah but how do I know my mother side really "AFRICAN American" ?
Right, soca originated from Africa...tired of seeing comments saying we are copying their style of music when it has always belonged to us
Actually we do not have the same culture. Caribbean culture is a combination of various influences, e.g. Indigenous Indian, African , East Indian and European. Our music, food, dialect etc showcases these influences. Now people have to honest about Afrobeats. It is not solely traditional Nigerian music. It is influenced by traditional Nigerian/Ghanan music and more contemporary genres such as Jazz etc. In very much the same way calypso in the early stages was influenced by jazz. So please peeps stop the madness our music sound familiar because they are influenced by similar things ... relax … the song is a great one.
JustForYou♥ Soca did not originate from Africa ... Soca is a spinoff of Calypso which has primarily French and African influences fused with some Jazz etc. Soca adds the Indian influence...
***** did my comment say SOCA belongs to Africans??? Im talking about afrobeats...it has always belonged to Africans, we didn't copy from anyone
African girls go wild to this song
that's a lie
What that u think
that song is burning up the airwaves in T&T its great though song is good me like
Love it! Woie! It nuh matter where you come from - Jamaican dancing over here.
Nigerian music I love groovy
Why must we always argue about color ... race... ethnicity... heritage on a music video?
Because music has always been used to represent culture and society.
Just heard this song for the first time today... Love from Zimbabwe..it's now my new ringtone lol kkkkkkkk
I like this song 🎵 I'm here may 3 2024
2023 and still listening to this masterpiece 🔥🔥🙇♂️📍📍
East Indian passing through, this beat pumping! can't wait for carnival!
Doh pass thru, stay nah? :D
Timaya yuh need to head down Trinidad & Tobago with this one here boy! We love it BAD!
Timaya was making a show in a club in Zurich 2 weeks ago...of course I was there to shake my little bum bum...
I for one love this song. its beautiful and very familiar to soca in a way that bridges the gap i feel sometimes between us in the caribbean and africa. it makes me realise in a very beautiful way that we are all so connected. i can see every african and caribbean person in the biggest party in the world dancing and having a good time to music like this and just teaching and sharing with each other. i await the day when we dont have silly arguments like what i am seeing. one love, only love! :D
bum bum shaking from Philly ooo
Instead of fighting each other trynna do something constructive. We have to get united that´s the only way for us. Islanders, continentals love one another. An islander speaking, sending love all the way from Madagascar, the land where africa, asia and europe live in a cosmopolite way. Peace.
Soca is the result of a fusion between African and East Indian influenced Caribbean music. Calypso music was blended with Chutney (East Indian Caribbean music) and instruments such as the dholak, tabla and dhantal. This resulted in the birth of Soca originally spelled "Sokah". Yes we have influence from Africa as well as India, Europe, China and from the Natives. We have not forgotten our motherlands but we do have our own distinct culture. Caribbean culture.
One of my favorites. Absolutely love the sing.

Oh gosh i reallll LOVE dis song....We trinis does just get on mad when dis song a play....
The beats tho.. like if u'r listening to this in 2014..much love from Ghana
This song, or any other west African music cannot be West Indian/ Caribbean influenced. Remember, Africans from Nigerian, Ghana, etc were stolen from their land and forced into slavery in America and the Caribbean/West Indies..and with them, they brought their culture.. food, music, religion, etc... hence the reason why music like soca, reggae/dancehall, Kompa, zouk, etc..has heavy African influential rhythms..
I still remember what this song made me do in clubs 2012..
Who is still here May 20, 2024
