I have been driving around for weeks with mine broken just like that and it's extremely agravating, but I don't have money to waste on fixing it. I tried Velcro. Huge fail on the first day. I have plenty of binder clips so this is perfection. This simple issue was so dangerous after a while. It blocked traffic lights and such. So THANK YOU!!!
I have a 2004 Toyota Rav4 that the driver's sun visor began drooping many years ago. I tried a few things and nothing worked. Spending $80 for a new one on Amazon seemed the only way to go until I ran across your CZcams. I work in an office that has the huge clips and I cannot thank you enough. It works and I am so happy. I have gone so many years with the visor down in the droopy position. Now I will be able to see the signals turn green without holding the visor up during the wait and without spending $80 for a new one. Thanks!!!!
Best solution that I have seen yet. This would have saved me $200 replacing my passenger visor. Now my drivers side visor is about to go and this will be my cheap and quick fix. Thank you!
Thank you! I tried so many things. At one point my rig-a-ma-jig fix with elastic and hooks shot off and hit me in the eye!!! I like your fix better. The toyota dealer said $255 for a new visor. Not gonna happen.
Perfect timing. My droopy '03 RAV4 sun visor finally got to me today, and after I saw this, I was skeptical. I spent another hour or so looking at forums until I broke down and bought some clips at the office supply store. Worked perfectly. Thanks!
WOW - done!! Ralph Amateis thank you very much for the fix. I have had this floppy passenger mirror for a year and just didn't want to shell out $200 for a new one or tear into it and use a hose clamp which would probably come out like rubbish.
Thanks so much for posting this. Works perfectly on our 2011 Highlander. There was a recall on this where Toyota would replace at no charge. However, we didn't find out about it until 3 days after the 7 year time limit expired. Toyota refused to replace at no charge.
Brilliant idea!! Something so simple that can buy me more time until I have time to get it fixed. Literally, just went to my car and did this in like less than 20 seconds. Thanks so much!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Some of the people in the comments are right, this isn't really a "repair" but I cba to open the thing up and figure out why it won't stay up anymore. Really disappointed in Toyota. I expect higher quality from them. Took me less than 10 seconds, thanks again!!
I just bought one and this was a problem 4 days later. AWESOME POST!! I have the clip at work, (I'm on vacation) So next Monday problem solved, free. Thank you for posting this!
This is such a global problem, mine with toyota innova. It was annoying, I had it since 2019 on my passenger seat, now a month on my driver seat. Thank you.
Damn I tried fixing mine on my older pathfinder and made it worse. This is exactly what I needed to know and I wasn't even looking for a fix on CZcams. Ah the good ol algorithm. Or maybe my phone is just a good listener lol.
Just tried this on a Honda Civic 2007. Not only did this work, but the clip allows for the visor to be brought down and put back up as before. Both handles are also solid against the visor. Doesn't even look like a repair but rather something similar to a garage opener.
There are other solutions (like my velcro fix that failed miserably). I like this binder clip idea for a very quick fix if you need to go on a long trip.
you're doing it wrong. you're supposed to put the binder clip closer to the arm where it mounts to the car and can clamp down on the metal tabs that are supposed to be internally attached to the visor but have broken loose. That way it holds it firmly in place and you can set whatever position you want the visor in. Once in place you can remove the binder clip arms.
This will not work or the 2007-2011 Toyota Camry Sun Visors. There was a recall, but Toyota neglected to notify many owners. Another version of the temporary repair... without the mistakes. czcams.com/video/tB5kEhNZaxU/video.html

Anonymous same here
Since this seems to be an issue all over the world, why hasn't Toyota done a recall?

Great hack! Very smart!!!😊 Thank you! God Bless!🙏

People who disliked. Obviously don't know how to attach a clip onto a visor. This quick fix worked perfectly for me. Thank u
People who talk about why people disliked have no clue why they disliked.

It works!!! Now i only have to test it while driving… thank you for that genius solution!!

Wow, thank you, this is the only thing I’ve tried for years that’s helped. Other than buying a new one for the other side 😅
Thank you! Replacement visors for 4Runners are out of stock. Great, budget solution!
I just bought one and this was a problem 4 days later. AWESOME POST!! I have the clip at work, (I'm on vacation) So next Monday problem solved, free. Thank you for posting this!
Toyota needs to do a recall on these.

absolutely brilliant solution! Girl, you're so smart. It is non-invasive, doesn't take anything apart, and stays effective over a long time
Perfect for now!! Thanks 👍🏽
This is the best Super bandaid patch solution yet .unless someone want to pay a couple 100.00 😂

2017 4Runner this has been driving me nuts for months

You are my hero!!!!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much better than the other videos
Positively ingenious binder clip tip ! THANK YOU !
Amazing!!! You saved me so much money!! This worked!! Thank you!!!
6’7” and the passenger side broken sun visor creates a blind spot. Thanks for the tip
Awesome
I'm running to fix mine, tks
Yup, worked for me - THANK YOU VERY MUCH

The simpler, the better. Very good solution!

Haha awesome fix! Just did it on mine also! Works like a charm.
i did exactly what she did, but one more step is to remove the two stainless spring by pressing hard inward. Hope this works for you
Works great! Thank you!!
It looks like forerunners have this problem, I’ve been struggling with my forerunner☺️
Thanks. This works !!!!!
Good temp fix, but a more permanent fix is the visooriser on Amazon or Walmart.
The chip way 😮 Nice😊😂😂
Bloody brilliant! It works! 😘
Top part facing out, bottom part facing in. Got it , thanks.
I'll give this a try. Thanks!

Great idea but I'd call it a temporary fix and avoid the dislikes.
Fckn best hack ever u guys rock!!🤙🏽
Yesssss....thank you!!! Finally got it to stay up until I can get it fixed. Thank you!
01 4Runner.....Thank You....
thank you sm!!!!
What about moving the magnet to the middle of the visor?
Thank you!!!
Thank you! :)
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will it work if the sun visor is broken?
People who dislike it know that there is a better way. The method used here is a fail. look at that visor still flimsy..
Love it
Toyota car repair places are expected to go bankrupt. 😂
Thanks!!
Interesting! But not practical if sun suddenly blinds you while you’re driving!
Today years old
Poor man's guide to sun visors fix Chapter 1.- Embrace the clip and accept it as your only god.
Also, this something I have to try in my car.

Even $120K Jaguars flop…
how about a small square of velcro to hold it in place, then you can access it easier
Couldn't get the Velcro to stick, it keeps falling off. Unless you take the time to see the Velcro on, the sticky Velcro strips are a no-go
To sew*
Niceeee ❤❤❤
NO! That is Not a fix, it's a band-aid.
Bandaid 😮😅😊
Spend around $30 for a new visor and replace the damn thing.
More like $230, son.
It's still unusable though, you might aswell just remove it completely
Bro could not figure it out
I just replace one it only costs $20
I tried that one it almost breaK my winshield.
I didn’t get this??
I have never liked half ass jobs.
Or......, you could have fixed it.
Strike the words "fix" and "repair" and substitute "jury rig" or "girlie fix".
Buy a new visor.
Nah… that doesn’t work 😊
Toyota bad quality and cheap materials!!!
This is a stupid fix.
