KEMPER PROFILER PLAYER - THE LITTLE GREEN BEAST PREMIUM PEDAL
KEMPER PROFILER PLAYER - THE LEGACY AND THE NEXT INCARNATION OF THE PROFILER PLATFORM
The KEMPER PROFILER has changed the world of guitar tone significantly. The acclaimed KEMPER PROFILING technology and the brand-new Liquid Profiles provide the best amp tones anytime and anywhere possible - offering consistent accuracy and also a convenient package for touring, traveling, and studio use.
The KEMPER PROFILER Player is the latest and the most complete serving of professional amp tones and studio-grade FX per footprint. Requiring only the floorboard space of two standard distortion pedals the PROFILER Player turns any pedal board into an arena-grade touring rig. And, what’s more, the Player indeed itself is already the arena-grade touring rig that fits in every guitar bag. It offers the full arsenal of KEMPER amp tones (yes, the Amp section of the Player sounds identical to the amp section of its famous Big Brothers - it loads any amp PROFILE from the vast library of existing free and commercial PROFILEs), selected FX settings, IR loading, and switching capabilities - at home, in the studio, in the rehearsal room, and on stage.
MADE IN GERMANY: THE LITTLE GREEN MONSTER, THE SON OF A PROFILER, THE KEMPER PROFILER PLAYER, PREMIUM PEDAL - CONCEPT AND FEATURES
At first glance, the PROFILER Player is an easy-access guitar amp with familiar classic controls, where you can store your precious amp channel settings.
The amp section of the Player sounds identical to the amp section of its famous Big Brothers. It loads any amp PROFILE from the vast library of existing free and commercial PROFILEs out there.
Rigs from the big PROFILERs are fully compatible within the limits of the Player’s 4 FX slots.
If you want to dig deeper and access every single effect setting, the Rig Manager remote app connects to the Player through USB or WLAN on a platform of your choice.
Connect your phone to the Player by Bluetooth to play along your guitar licks to Spotify.
At home the Player is the perfect rehearsal amp, on stage, it is a self-contained KEMPER PROFILER.
Turn the PROFILER Player into a combo amp by connecting one or two KEMPER Power Kabinets.
The Player is reduced to the max and therefore also a match for bass players and acoustic guitarists. Also, keyboard players will enjoy the leading tube amp PROFILEs and studio-grade effects to spice up their sounds.
Expand the live control capabilities simply by adding expression pedals or additional foot-switches. MIDI via USB - Supports typical USB2MIDI cables
Four effect blocks elevate the Player to a professional stand-alone live solution.
The PROFILER Player offers a selection of some the finest effects in the world. As a company, KEMPER is also responsible for creating the ACCESS™ VIRUS™, one of the most successful synthesizers of all time. Nearly 25 years of experience.
Along with the standard effects, you will find algorithms rarely seen in a guitar processor - these include an authentic rotary speaker and studio-grade reverbs, offering amazing rooms, large halls, even lush, pad-like ambiences and many more.
The Player’s signal chain comprises 4 effect modules in addition to the amplifier stack. Up to two effects can be placed "pre" the amp stack, and another two "post" the amp. The post-amp modules of the effect chain are ideal for delay and reverb effects. Both delay and reverb offer "spillover"at any time, meaning the sonic tail is not cut off when you change to another Rig.
The Player offers a massive, well-curated selection of 136 different FX settings taken from the legendary KEMPER PROFILER FX arsenal that features over 444 FX presets in total.

Great info . Thinking about getting into the Kemper so this stuff helps big time.
Thank you so much for this review! I want to ask if you have the possibility to deactivate the amp and cabinet and just use the 4 effect blocks available just if a live situation you have a real amp but you want to use the Kemper as an multieffects unit. Thank you
Great video. Solved my frustration with the three buttons.
Ordered one. I’m not going to use it live. Home practice and playing to backing tracks with headphones, as an interface for home demoing and to record music in DAW with the possibility to re-amp. My pedalboard is usually tuner, phaser and drive, so four fx is enough for me. I’m also going to use transpose for when I’m playing to stuff in Eb and D tuning. Maybe I’ll get an expression pedal to toy around with the Wah Wah too. All in all, I think this will suit me very well.
Thanks for this video, this is what I needed for setting up my Kemper Player!
In a live situation, can you send via the XLR output to the desk with cab sim on and feed a normal cab without the cab sim on via the other outputs at the time so on stage we can have that old school feeling of having a "reel " cab" behind you?
Hi , great videos.
Does your profale sounds the same in player and big kemper ? Some effects are not available in player, but can you dial sound on player ?
I have kemper player and I can not dial sound to be the same ( as close as possible ) to sounds in youtube clips , I use the same profile and listen clip and kemper through same monitors but my sound is muddy.
What is your expirience ?
still not sure if I will replace this Live for my Kemper Rack with Footswitch. is it possible to do the High and Low cut in the output section of the player?
You can also right click in the flow chart to assign FX1/2
Have you ever tried using these for Acoustic Guitars? I saw a couple pages with sets for ACOUSTIC in this video!
I think your video has convinced me to get one.
Hey mate - I am a tube old-fashioned guitar player with a Marshall JVM-410H so learning here. My main motivation to try the Kemper Player is to sound like some artists bands I like importing their profiles (either free or paid). QQs: 1 - Can I just use free or paid profiles from bands I like and import them to the Kemper Player easily? Let´s say I want to sound like Metallica...can I just import the profiles I buy or get and use them here on the Kemper Player? How´s that process? Need to connect the Kemper Player via USB to the computer and send those profiles via the Rig Manager software on my MacBook Pro? 2 - Do I have to use my own BOSS delay and chorus pedals or can I have those effects integrated into a profile I send to the Kemper Player? The effects part is a bit confusing to me to understand. 3 - USB cable and everything you need is included on the Kemper Profile or do I need to buy some stuff on my own to use this? Thanks for your help. New sub here!
I have a boss Ms-3 can I use it with the kemper player, if so what are the connections. Please advice.
Thanks for this very helpful video. So now you've set the three buttons as they are, how are you switching from rig to rig?
My phone or the bank buttons, if not connected to the computer. Thanks!
Thank you @@PlayandTradeGuitars
Hello! Is it possible to adjust volume for each switch/module separately? Just to have different amount of gain or pure boost on every "channel"...
hope you can answer. i saw on another video that you can only use either 2 efx before the rig or 2 efx after but not 1 before and 1 after and not all 4 at a time, is this correct? that kind of makes the unit pretty crippled. Also is it true you cant move the blocks around. they are all just stationary? again crippled. thanks for taking the time to answer. also there is only one jack for the expression pedal so the button would be useless on the kemper expression too correct, the wah, volume or whammy would just always be on, on that patch and unable to turn it on and off with the button
You can use any combo of effects pre and post, and you can drag them around in any configuration using Rig Manager on your phone or computer. And yes you can program the expression pedal to act however you want, nothing is locked in so that is not true. Thanks for watching
@@PlayandTradeGuitars thank you. You rock
Hey mate - Thanks for the vid. I am new to Kemper and this seems like a nice way to begin with their brand. I am a tube old-fashioned guitar player with a Marshall JVM-410H so learning here. My main motivation to try the Kemper Player is to sound like some artists bands I like importing their profiles (either free or paid).
Noob questions: 1 - Can I purchase profiles from third parties that replicated the sound of Metallica, Pantera, etc. and import them to this player via the Rig Manager software? I basically want to be able to purchase some profiles and sound like bands I like. Is that easy with the Kemper Player?
2 - How do you send purchased profiles to the player to activate with your foot? Just connect your Kemper Player via USB to the computer and send those over via the Rig Manager software?
3 - I am not really sure how effects work? Can I include chorus, delay, flanger, etc. directly to a profile I choose through the Rig Manager software and send it over to the Kemper Player or should I use my own Boss Chorus and Delay analog foot pedals for this?
Thanks for your help! New sub here!
yes, yes and yes!
Work of art piece of gear. 🥇
Hi, can you show us the best way to use this with a DAW ?
Thanks for your videos so far in this unit
Signal chain ??
XLR to ?
USB to ?
1/4" to ?
Great info
Can't wait to get mine.
Now I’m just more excited to get mine. Great work. Subscribed.
Muy buen sonido👏🏻
I've wanted a Kemper for years, but up until now I didn't see a point. To me this is exactly what I need.
That les paul is a picture perfect flame top . I love that guitar. Gibson sent mine back after fret dressing with e sting laying on the first fret and now won’t call me back.
Nut job in the literal sense.
So you're saying you sent it back and haven't heard from them?? Did you get your money back, or were you wanting a different guitar.
@@jordanpratt3821 I have a Gibson virtual guitar tech appointment at 9:30. I hope they figure it out. I’m almost positive it’s the nut was cut to low but it’s been such a nightmare. Thanks for asking. It’s so frustrating and but i don’t want to give up.
If you have a Kemper Stage is there any reason to have this unit?
Compact
headrush guy, don't know anything about Kemper. Can this be used for four-cable method to a tube amp just for FX?
Solid review. Kemper really missed the mark in a few key areas. This is meant to be a pedalboard friendly unit. But it requires > 2A to power it, which is asking a lot from many pedal power bricks. Also, it has no effects loop, coupled with the fact that you can only use 2 effects post-amp (Delay module and Reverb module), which means that many players will use need additional pedals after the Kemper Player, requiring additional gear to get their signal to FOH (a DI box, for example). I much prefer Kemper amp profiling to Helix amp modeling, but Line 6 thought through the use case of the HX Stomp much better than Kemper did for the Player.
Are guitar players just really afraid of using a surge protector or something? Having more than one 3 prong connection?????
USE THE INCLUDED POWER SUPPLY!
@@anotheryoutube4635 Dude, I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. When you build a pedalboard, you want all your pedals powered from a central location that provides consistent, clean, and isolated power with (ideally) one IEC cable running to your outlet. Having a single pedal that needs its own dedicated plug plus an extension cable creates additional hassle and clutter. It's also a single point of failure if that cable fails. All the key players in this space (Fractal, Line 6, Neural DSP, Universal Audio) build their pedalboard units with the assumption that most people will power it from a pedalboard.
You cutting and pasting this comment into every Kemper Player review?
@@tonepilot You trolling every Kemper Player review?
@@logopneumatika Bet you didn’t even listen to ther review. Try to add something new to the discussion will ya?
Great in depth videos of the player! But I was wondering what would happen if you take regular Kemper rigs, even third party profiles with more than 4 FX into the player?
Just saw that you answered my question on your previous FAQ video! Thanks!
Do you need an audio interface? Or does it connect directly?
It is an audio interface.
@@guitartoneSA thank you so much!
So many lame vids on CZcams right now of people basically judging this product based on the web site. So glad you are far enough ahead of the curve to make some great and helpful content!
Awesome
powering it off is just unplugging the power cable, right?
Yes, which still kind of weirds me out ha
@@PlayandTradeGuitars same 😂
If you run it into Logic Pro, I would definitely love to get your latency value for 64 samples :)
As I plan to use it as my guitar audio input interface (I mainly use the NAM plugin❤)
Can you turn of the ampp section of this kemper profiler player? there is a preamp pedal i own that I love so much i want to keep that as my amp and use kemper profiler player as virtual cabinet and post processing device... is that possible?
Yes, the Stack which contains an amp + cab can have either turned off
I mean you could do that but you would be way better off with a helix or even an ampere stomp
Because i am thinking to buy an ox stomp or this kemper profiler player to make my IR cabinet options more versatile. Do you knwo if there are any difference between the IR in kemper vs the ox stomp? Also thanks for your reply for the previous question. A lot of your video provides good insight about what a gear can do.
@@jacklo2228dude if you don’t use the effects and the amp of the Kemper, just go straight for the ox stomp it’s exactly what you are looking for, the IRs in this thing are next level and it’s 300€ cheaper then the Kemper.
The IRs in the stomp work different then typical IRs but they are in my ears better then the Kemper ones
I like it cause its just small enough that my wife wont know i bought it when i mix it in with my other gear.
2:02 no, one should not make that argument, at all.
I'm doing a 180 from what most players nowadays seem to be doing, and that is using my amp(s) only and guitar. It sounds crazy but I may be inventing something new.
WHAT??? ;)
@@r.llynch4124 it's crazy I know, but it just may work.
Whats an amp?
@@mikec8815 its an older piece of technology from way back in the day. Guitar players (some) could make magical sounds emit from the amp. Haha
I preordered it - I use a boss gt 1000 core currently - worst case I’ll send it back
No effects loop? No screen? No profiling? No stereo XLR? ….no sale….what else is it missing?
Morphing ....which in the case of ONLY 3 switches is a big deal imho , with that function you could turn these 3 switches in to 6 Rigs tones ....but of course brand new release and already stripped down . I could deal with NO effects as this is meant to be a pedal friendly solution but with out FX Loop and Stereo XLR this misses a lot of whats needed to be good option .
@@guitartoneSA update? Do you download the inputs as well? Do you understand what I’m talking about?
I run all my effects (read: phaser) in front of the amp, see no problem 😊
I did not realize until recently that FOH can take your mono xlr out and split to L and R in the house.

The Monitor Outs L/R are balanced TRS.
$700? Too rich for my blood.
If not on the app u have no control and no screen really
