I grew up with Van Nuys Airport. Me and my family moved into the flight pattern (North Side) way back in 1962 when I was four years old. We lived there until 1975. After that, I visited the airport continually since then.

I've been plane spotting since I was 4 years old. I'm in my 60s and I still do plane spotting. I've done it at Van Nuys Airport, LAX, Burbank, Whiteman, and Santa Monica Airport. I remember lots of airplanes that I saw take off and land at Van Nuys. What I loved the most was watching the Boeing C97G Stratofreighters during the 1960s. I loved the sound of those Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp Radial engines!

Wiki says it is a former Pan Am aircraft probably around 60 yrs old. It does have newer engines on it plus winglets.
