this video was superbly helpful, for prospecting i decided to use the cave art symbols to represent an ore and then place an up or down arrow next to each symbol so i can remember the details of my last node search, also another tip would be to start mining with your normal pick for the speed and finish with the pro pick this can help you save durability on your main pick or help you prospect faster

Honestly, that sounds like it will be less easy to work with, but more immersive. I love to watch folks play this game, but it's already a few steps past what I can manage to play well myself.
i found out that with high and such going to the middle of the chunk and mining down with the node search every few blocks is the easiest way to do it. not because they spawn in the middle of the chunk (or even because they are chunk baised) but because node search goes about the whole chunk in width
One note on adding ingots to a forge, if there are multiple ingots already heating and you add another cold one, it doesn't just average the heat amongst them, it resets the heat on all of them entirely which wastes fuel. Plan accordingly.
This is not my experience. You may lose some heat beyond what the average would suggest, but adding eg 1 ingot to a hot stack of 3 doesn't take it all the way down to Cold.
To be honest, as long as it's decent, I would just go for it regardless. Especially with copper, where you're kinda bound to happen to find a big vein on decent already
As a quite experienced player, slow pace bugs me a bit, however I appreaciate tutorial tone of this let's play, even after 400 hours you might learn something new. I dunno, I'm just bit unpatient I guess

I played this game a while back. Wish the recipes were easier to work with .
There is a roadmap on the website. They plan to remove the 3x3 crafting grid for something more immersive in the (possible) far future.

"you can't get ores with a prospecting pick" technically you can get ore blocks with a prospecting pick and that is an "ore" :P
