- This week’s adventure brings me to the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York for a visit to the grave of one of my favorite TV writer/producers Rod Serling, best known for his show The Twilight Zone. I go to his grave to pay my respects as well as explore the cemetery. I also explore some of the less traveled back roads of Upstate New York for some amazing and scenic landscapes. It’s a trip I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and you’re all invited to join me! Do come along!!!

I noticed in edit that around 10:20 - 10:29 while I'm standing over his grave, something weird started happening with my camera. Look at the bottom of the screen at that time frame and it looks like part of it has just disappeared into static... Spoooooky!
Very odd indeed!!!
I know...right????
Knowing a little bit about electronics, I'm struggling to understand what happened there! Have you have any opinion from anyone else with some knowledge of electronics? If it was a CRT type Deflection Tube it could be described away with magnets below the screen but as the camera will be all Solid State undoubtedly (No moving parts) that sort of Deflection cannot be explained with magnets. I have never seen any phenomenon like this on Digital Video Recordings before! The timing is _unusual_ in that it seems to be as you are over Rod Serling's grave (without a T! haha I always struggled to get his name right)
@@jayc2469 I honestly have no idea what caused that. 😮 That's the first time it's ever happened with my camera and it hasn't happened since. So, I'll just leave it as unknown. 👻 😁 Also, I don't know why I kept calling him Sterling. I didn't even catch it until editing. Vlogging with out a script. 🤣
@@UnkleHeavy Ghosts in the Machine as the saying goes! It is a very strange Symmetrical anomaly filled with noise, as you described, bowing up from the bottom -centre, gradually over about 2-3 seconds and then it's gone! This is a Prime example of a Genuine Unexplained Phenomenon
Hitting the back roads is always the best. Living in the city you miss seeing those wonderful things. Lake View Cemetery is really looking remote. We love looking for Celeb graves and we know the way you feel about walking around the cemeteries. A very cool visit.
Thank you so much!!! I was really shocked when I found how isolated this cemetery actually was! But I have to say, it's probably the most peaceful and quiet place I've ever been.
Very nice country side beautiful view 👍
Thank you so much!!!
Big twilight zone fan , that was a spooky camera artifact ,thanks for sharing 👍🚶🎥👍
Thank you so much! I have no idea what happened to my camera. It's really creepy 👻 Thank you for watching!!!
I love this! I am from and live in Buffalo and you’re so right about the beauty of this area. Also, I just learned today that Rod Serling is from this area and buried close. I can’t wait to visit this site! Thanks 🤩
It's a beautiful ride down, I highly recommend making the trek!
Great drive 😎 so scenic 😀 nice look at the grave site. I bet if that surgery happened today they might have know about the heart problem that lead to his death during surgery, at least I hope 🤞
It really is super tragic. I was thinking the same thing; if it were today, it would probably be a fairly routine procedure. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!!

It's a small world after all! 😄

I'm from Seneca County and have been by this exact cemetery many, many times. I never knew he was so close. I'll have to bring my brother there as a surprise. He'll probably freak out, but hey, when he does, Rod will be laughing too.
I was really surprised to find out how secluded his resting spot was! Enjoy visiting!!!
I truly respected him as well
He was an amazing and talented creator! Thank you so much for watching!!!
Thanks for sharing one more part of my home state that I've yet to visit. I think there is a big music festival at Trumansburg or Interlaken, and one of them claims the group Donna the Buffalo. Route 20 east of Auburn has plenty of good views. I especially like the hills southeast of Syracuse. On clear days, you can see all of Oneida Lake and the towers in Oswego.
It's all such a beautiful area down there!!! I think I'm definitely going to have to dedicate a few vlogs of just exploring around the area!!! Thank you so much for watching!!!!
I was 6 when Rod Serling passed away Rest his Soul but his voice is still etched into my psyche.
I downloaded the entire Twilight Zone from that era a while back so I'll be watching some soon but one thing that I have yet to have anyone else confirm is if Rod Serling ever did any voice overs on some of the US Atomic Tests in Nevada and the Marshall Islands.
One line that I am convinced is Rod, goes something like _"The Land Where the Giant Mushrooms Grow!.."_ when referring to the Nevada Test Site, possibly Frenchman Flat
He was such an amazing creator and producer!!! So many good TZ films and so many famous actors he brought to the screen!!! I would have loved to met him in person! Thank you so much for watching!!!
Wow didn’t know his wife just died last year. Great vid unk hev! Loved the old barns. I’ll be sure not to look at the title of your next video so I don’t the next grave you’re going to 😂
Thanks so much!!! Yeah, I love those old barns. It's truly pure Americana!!! The next celeb grave will be pretty cool too. I just watched some of the raw footage today. Time to edit...
@@WaysideWade nice! You’re an unk hev fan too!
