- Is Religion necessary or would we be better off without it?
Does Religion end up causing more destruction to humanity?
How does Religion help the world?
Let's find out as @eisayo and @DearAlyne go head to head to discuss one of the most popular, most widely debated topics across the world!
“If you delete religion,in 10 years someone will create new religion but if you delete science, in 10 years gravity is still gravity "-Alyne
Why someone create religion after 10 years. Is it necessary? Yes it is . because it is needy in our day to day life.
But the thing is, you can never ever delet islam. Thats the point. So, we shouldn’t talk about something which is cant happen ( i am talking about islam).
@@akilansary3757 and I'm totally agree with you.
But god will still exist and this quote is pretty dumb
First of all, you can't just delete an environment that's been here for thousands of years. Second of all, if you delete science, the way we look at science could pretty much change. The formula for gravity could change if you delete science for instance. Who says math will be the same? The meaning is the same, the characters won't be. Same for religion - God is the same but the books will be different.
As long as people keep their opinions about their religion to themselves, I am totally fine with the existence of religion
Can i copy your cmmnt please ? 🥀🙏 i love it 🥰
I love this comment
Why do you want the suppress my opinion? There is no such thing as good. You may have set up a community and dedicated yourself to a course, However, the existence of God is nonsense.
Thank you
no religion gonna just stay still ..... but always start a war if there different opinion/belief than community/society/country is not gonna accept just always reject it ....
The conflict arises when one tries to dominate the other, and the other will either HAVE to fight back or be crushed. But it's really a great debate. ❤️
I like the format of this channel. I don't know why, but so many people are completely not aware of how useful practicing debate is. Most people who are passionate ( in the best case) or fanatic ( in the worst) will end up fighting and hating everyone who thinks differently than them. When reality is so simple, you can totally have different opinions, and have totally normal and healthy interaction with people with other views. Thank you for this great idea 😎😍👌
can you do a debate on either one of the following:
1. A criminal is born bad vs A criminal is brought up badly
2. school uniforms vs no school uniforms
Edit: not to be that person, but tysm for 70 likes!
Edit 2: 75 likes? Tysm keep it going guys
I am in support of school uniform as it brings the sense of equality among children. Like if there's no Uniform rich kids will wear all those fancy and expensive cloths which will put the poor ones in self doubt and embarrassment
@@Hanzala_Siddique As someone who has been in a school with uniforms and one with no uniform this is not true and that really never happens
A criminal is brought badly
@@Hanzala_Siddique Actually it's opposite...
Some poor parents aren't able to buy uniforms as you know the prices are stacked up. Psychologically, uniform discourages students to attend the school as if they don't have freedom to wear clothes they like(Although they should dress decently)..
A criminal is brought up badly
Religion is hard. People say “don’t force your beliefs” but from their point of view it’s literally a life or death situation to talk about it
Yea
Religion is easy
Bro in Islam sleeping is good how is that even hard and this is a TEST but all that hard work of worshipping can get you in heaven and that is the biggest thing a human can have

You are such a brilliant speaker . loved it

Atheist
Honestly I was team Alyne from the beginning to the end. Almost every time she made a good point Eisa switched topics. For example, the bad writings in religious texts, when she mentioned them he just switched to the good part of the texts. But to be honest, I am a huge fan of this debate. It's such a sensitive topic, and yet both of the contestants were able to talk about it so politely and full of respect. Alyne and Eisa both did amazing, congrats!
Elsa was just avoiding her questions instead of answer it.. I felt pretty much irritated when he dodged her questions..
JEEEEEEEEEEES, This debate is freakin crazy !!!!!!! I LOVE IT. Thank you for this channel
Damnnn how i love debates on this channel. I'm obviously on Alyne's side. I love her so much and how intellectual she is.
Hi! As someone who is not strongly religious, I wanna give my views on this debate. I attempt to be as non-biased as possible.
First, it was really frustrating that Eisa was not replying to any of Alyne's statements. If Alyne would say something about religion having very violent things eg 14:29 "Women are the helpmates to husbands", then Eisa talks about religion developing over time, which is not answering Alyne's point. So the debate felt really confusing because it was just a lot of points thrown everywhere and not being linked.
Second, kudos to Alyne for actually taking in Eisa's statements eg 13:01 When Eisa talked about SK being a less religious country having high suicide rates, Alyne answered that less religious islands also have low suicide rates. So her statements are a follow up to Eisa's statements and thus easier to understand.
So in summary both Eisa and Alyne had very good knowledge, but Alyne was better at debating back and proving her point than Eisa. I hope that Eisa can try to answer to the opponent's statements in the next debate, and to Alyne, keep it up!
To add on about the skill of answering to the opponent's statements which was strong in Alyne but less strong in Eisa, here is an example to help.
Note that this is an example I made up, and is not representative of actual statistics.
Imagine 2 people debating, Person A and person B.
They are debating on whether Mcdonalds food should be banned because of its unhealthiness.
Person A is on team "dont abolish Mcdonalds"
Person B is on team "abolish Mcdonalds"
If B says "Mcdonalds is very unhealthy because it contains lots of saturated fat and calories",
a BAD response from A would be "But there are Mcdonalds salads which are low in fat and calories so you have to look at the bigger picture, not all Mcd food in unhealtjy"
A GOOD response from A would be "But fat and calories will not have effect of somebodys health if they have a healthy lifestyle. Eg if they exercise daily, they will burn many calories. Thus mcd having high calories wont be an issue"
Hope this helps Eisa or Alyne or anyone that sees this!
Oh and adding on to the Mcdonalds example:
You may ask why is the first response of A bad but 2nd response of A good?
Look at B's context. B is talking about Mcd food in general being unhealthy.
So A's 1st response (salad) is only proving that some foods arent unhealthy. So shouldnt the foods that are unhealthy (eg fries) be abolished? A did not address that.
Meanwhile A's 2nd response (healthy lifestyle) is on behalf of ALL mcd foods, eg no matter what unhealthy Mcd food you eat, if you exercise a lot, your health is not affected, thus mcd need not be abolished
Hope this helps :)
Well said this comment summarizes a lot of my thoughts quite well
@@massoudavira4956 Thank you so much! I appreciate that
You missed out alyne making arguments based on a lack of understanding and research of islam script. She cited surah Tawbah verse 5 which says to kill the polytheists yet completely took it out of context. Anybody who actually reads the text knows it is in the context of war and self defense. The next verse literally annihilates her futile attempt at demonising islam. The next verse states 'And if anyone from the polytheists asks for your protection ˹O Prophet˺, grant it to them so they may hear the Word of Allah, then escort them to a place of safety, for they are a people who have no knowledge.'
Keep doing this type of videos because these videos give us knowledge to understand the world more.

Being religious is important to my opinion.
Religion is the only thing that makes we human apart from animal.if you have no borders, no conditions in your life from childhood you’ll never ever be well disciplined, well mannered and a good individual in your society.
The main things our religion promotes us is to be humble, kind, respectful and spread kindness among humanity, help someone in need.
For many reasons 99.99% being religious is good except that 00.01% I hope you got it.
And there are some main point’s to consider,
• The bad behaviors of religious people/leader/monk may ruin the religion or society.
•The culture is culture it’s not a religion most people don’t understand the difference between these two.
(In Sri Lanka there is 4 main religions but the culture is different from east to west)
I’m proudly a Muslim the religion protected me from bad behaviors, addiction and being rude.
Just a short comment
Thanks 🙏
You didn't debate well with her. You didn't had constructive argument.
@Lalith Kumar I think the same but in today's society the religious orthodox created by certain people seem to question the essence of religion and it's validity

Kudos Nasdaily ❤️👏
I really loved this! I just think the wooos and the booos may be too much because they add unnecessary pressure on the people arguing and if they get booed or the other person gets "wooed" it might demoralise them or make them less concentrated on the task which is reaching a better understanding of the subject in hand and getting closer to knowing the truth.
I also think 30 seconds is also adding unnecessary pressure and might lead to a more stressful and less fruitful and explained debate.
I loved the debate either way, i hope you do more and these are just constructive comments!
I told my children...to choose their religion on their own...we never in house ask to do any ritual force...but for us most important is being moral.i go with spirituality. One of the biggest reasons i agree with Alyne is because, why should so many good people get sent to hell simply because they followed the "wrong religion". Religion is also at the heart of hundreds of wars in history, to a point where people being murdered in their homes for what they believe in has become a day to day thing
to all those blind out there, Eisa wasn't forcing alyne to accept Islam, he was just doing the debate. In Islam, we are not allowed to force others to believe in us. We can just preach our religion to others and invite them to learn about us NON-VIOLENTLY NOT FORCEFULLY. If someone is forcing you to accept islam, keep in mind he is breaking the rules

Absolutely right.. Islam is very peaceful religion... ❤
Oh, the no true Scotsman fallacy. All I see is a pro religious , fallacy based argumentation. We can , and will as more and more people become non religious, create a society that is based on reason, science, and pro-flourishing as it's core tenants, rather than dogma, outdated paitriorical , fear inducing, and divisive writings from ignorant 1st century slave traders. Necessary in what sense? Food and water are necessary for living, whilst religion-Islam-is necessary for salvation in the afterlife, and it is necessary to be a righteous person on this Earth.
What I love from the concept of religion (POV : Islam) is how it balances people.
We always can read the Quran with 2 perspective, and that's beautiful.
Example :
- when it comes to the poor, it Commands them to not asking people for money, being grateful and keep "Tawakkal". It keeps your self-regard though ur poor.
- when it comes to the rich, it asks them to give their money, being generous and don't afraid of losing money. It teaches them to not anxious with the money, etc.
But what happens to the balance of power when it is given to women or LGBTQ or non believers.
The very reason that religion swores to destroy anyone hindering it's propagation or tries to overpower other religion makes me puke .
Every religion sucks period. These morals can be learnt in moral sciences in jr. High school lol
@@chadultrapromax1735 Surely there are other ways to instill morals within the youth but religion is simply the best way we have currently. Religion has survived and kept its meaning for thousands of years, and education is not nearly good enough to keep that sort of consistency
@@zwilder1 still education has a potential to improve and develop way better than religion. Right now if anything is hindering modern society it has to be religion. Wars are fought over it. Radical killings are done in name of it. To have actual progress we need to stop preserving it and actually take a massive leap forward. One must learn from history and should not literally adopt it.
Religious people often argue how they are scientifically correct which they aren't but religion was not a scientific issue it has always been a political issue. The reason it is carried from centuries is because of fear itself. The fear of the afterlife, heaven and hell which nobody has ever seen in existence. With each generation religion is losing its strong hold and hence we are getting better as a society due to exposure to education.
I really agree with the man on the left especially when he said that the religion isn’t bad it’s the people in the community… it’s just my opinion

And then you understand why modern nations such as western countries, China, Russia and Japan and every fucking nation that doesn’t have its political and educational system attached to a fictional old minded brainwashing scheme of centuries ago is so much more developed than Muslim countries…one is about innovation of ideas the other is about preservation of ancient ideas. Muslim countries will always be leagues below the rest of the world as long as they don’t realize that religion was made to be appreciated and not followed blindly like a cult. You are only gonna push yourself down as long as you keep preserving ideas of centuries ago completely outdated for todays needs. Innovation is the birth of power and there is zero to almost none of it in Muslim middle eastern countries.

Are you even understanding what topic is being discussed here?
I would to add to Eisa's statements:
On one hand he said atrocities are done by the 'person itself' and religion always is not involved in genocides. He also mentioned how suicide rates are high in south korea because 'its non religious'.
I see that as a contradiction of his own point that the fault lies with 'the person itself' and high suicide rates mostly has nothing to do with religion. Scandinavia too is non religious, no where in the top most suicidal countries.
Also, he said that people who are grateful to something are kind of a 'religion itself' which is true in its sense. My point would have been that yes, thats the point. We do not need everyone following the same rules. We need everyone to have their own religion.
As for the community part, it is true that religion helps to form groups. But Alyne's point is very valid here that if religions are so loving of everyone, even the people of other religions and non religious people, Alyne shouldn't have been excluded from her community. True that the topic they used to talk about would not be the same, but they could have kept in touch with her even if she found a different faith.
As for when Eisa said religion evolves with people, well I do not think anyone would have the balls to alter the verses Alyne mentioned and correct their holy texts to keep up with evolving times. Yeah, you can say that people no longer follow it, but that doesnt mean that it is not a part of the text (till it is removed) and some people can be misguided to hate others based on those verses and texts, by reading it on their own, or by 'taking it out of context' as most people say to defend such verses. Well, yes everyone has their own way of interpretation, as it is their right, but can we atleast put some footnotes in such misleading verses saying 'please dont take it as face value, rest how you want to interpret is your choice.'
Also, mind you religion was always started by one person only, which proves my point that everyone should have their own religion. Those who liked the person's way of life applied it onto their own which is very much fine, but you can't say that if someone does not apply anyone else's way of life and beliefs, they should follow it anyway. Yes, they should respect your beliefs, but please so respect ours too. We do not need an already written set of rules to live our lives with morality. We can figure out our own morality.
Now do not say your morality is wrong, because in the modern day world, most of the things labelled 'crime' im religions are already punishable by law, and that is the morality we need all need to follow, in addition to our own set of morals.
I think religion should become more like laws, getting amended time to time (only the questionable verses). I am sure if that happens, everyone is going to be religious one day. Atleast I would be, gladly. 😀
I don't read your comment entirely. Because long text. But actually religion is a law. Do and don't

@@mehmetadi2872 Yeah and that's great, but I said religion is a law then it should be amended from time to time.
@@FaisalKhan-md2tj Yes I found that, and I think that's very sad that in some areas atheist suicides very high. However, the article mentions that it does not correlate. Direct quote "Although religion is reported to be protective against suicide, the empirical evidence is inconsistent."

It was so good to watch. I would say I m convinced by both of them. Both are right at their points. But Alyne seems to be fed by strict rules. What exactly I do is that I take good things from all the religions leaving behind wrong things mentioned in religious texts. Ppl are not actually following religions. They just show they are religious but they are not. They are extremist and follow things without any logic. For example, I m a hindu and I have been with muslims ppl but aunties were so conservative that they didn't use to allow their kid to celebrate hindu festivals, that's wrong. But I also have one muslim close frnd who celebrate all our festivals with happiness.

for me i think religion is necessary for when you are lost, there are many life compasses that can guide a person, the destination depends on the compass but the journey depends on the person. And many people like to believe in simple things like supernatural beings whose powers and existence can't be proven but is still believed to be there, so in short, yes religion is necessary

I got lost because of the religion itself and now I regrets being in a religious family. We need religion.. but not because of belief of higher power, it really is about the pillars that religion has provided us. --Yoga, Meditation, Basic Right and wrong, amongst other things, traditions, culture, and community.
Does religion need to be updated? Heck yes. When religion was created they didn't account the internet and technology..
As long as you're doing good.. whatever you might believe in then go for it.
But sadly my friend, religion won't be updated....yes, religion has helped humanity in a sort in the past....but in the current era... religion will not survive unless it changes drastically. I agree with Eisa, that religion is necessary, not only does it give meaning, it gives satisfaction & peace. Which we all need. It makes us feel secure, because we always know that there is someone above to protect us & guide us, to teach us important lessons & to punish us when it’s right. I love religion a lot. this subject of debate wil never end till the world gets distroyed
She just dominated this debate, he just talked about abstract stuff and than when he saw he was losing the debate changed the topic attacking her saying that she thinks that all religions are bad when she never said that.
This guy is a hypocrite POS especially since he follows Islam which is a malignant tumor in any productive society. As an ex-Shia muslim minority, we were told to hate Sunnis and Sunnis were taught to hate us. We also hated all the people who are different. Fk Mohamed and Islam.
So I would like to state that the boy here (I'm not going to use any of their names) didn't really get the point across. So I believe religion is very necessary as he said many times but he forgot to state many facts . For example in Islam women are cherished and protected. Hijab (a cloth that covers a women's hair and neck area) has given more freedom to us while people are assuming we are oppressed I am actually free from the darkness of today's society. What do hijabs protect us from ? So most people Muslims or non Muslims think that everyone should be looked at for more than just their looks which has been made hard because of today's beauty standards but then our beautiful religion comes and protects us from for example assault
So next I would like to talk about how the girl kept mentioning that she was in a religion for sum what years so I feel terrible that she felt like she didn't belong in her community but that doesn't mean that it's religions fault it is the fault of those who were around her.
Islam and other religious have rules that shouldn't be broken however it is made clear that those who do not sin aren't human so basically we all make mistakes what's beautiful is that our God gives us hope that mistakes don't define a person
So lastly everything that has been forbidden is actually very bad for us
Examples:drinking , dating(causes heart break and depression)
Thank you for reading my comment if you do not agree please reply with kindness I only wrote this in hopes of people understand how beautiful and peaceful Islam is.

Both of them have a point. Life should be balanced.
Great debate! In favour of "religion being unnecessary" I would add that people who have power and authority due to religion often abuse their power, for example, they go hand-to-hand with politicians(and I truly believe that religion and politics shouldn't cooperate they are separate entities),they are also able to hide many crimes or they're not fairly judged and also make a ton of money just for preaching for God and do ceremonies whereas if there wasn't for religion they would be nothing
Alyne only saying herself from her 27 years experience, but there are billions of people who are still religious more than 30years and they are still happy with his life , their actions and religion
I agree with the guys opinion more though I respect Alyne’s. Religion IS still necessary because it unites people more than cultures. It has stronger sense of purpose which is what us humans need. Although yes I respect people who chose not to be religious regardless it is still important to have in the society.

Am religious but i agree. But also bad people can be good because of religion, i've seen it.
but those people ultimately have that choice to choose to do the bad thing.
You can never do something bad BECAUSE of religion, the thing religion does is gives us the directions to bad and good and the correct religion can never make its followers do bad things because of something it said.
