Hi Brother, Hope all is well with you. Well there are a few things to note during hotel bookings for unmarried couples in India. 1. Both of you should be above 18 years old and have a valid Government ID - this can either be an adhar card, driving license or even a passport (Pan cards are not allowed). 2. It is highly recommended that you do an online booking rather than you visit the hotel and then book since most hotels are more welcoming if the booking is already done and payment is done, since it becomes a confirmed payment on their side. If you walk in then they might consider not welcoming you. 3. Some hotels all over India follow the rule that they won't accept local IDs, so if one of you have a non local ID - in this case a non Ahmedabad ID, they would be more than willing to accept you. Technically hotels have the right to refuse entry to any sort of guest they feel unfit since the property belongs to them. But following the following rules would make it easier for you to stay in any hotel in India. Since if you follow the 3 rules, you wouldn't be breaking any law and wouldn't have to worry about anything whatsoever.
There is no specific method of making sure that hotels accepts you or not, since at the end of the day they have all the rights to refuse entry EVEN if you follow all the 3 methods. It happened to us once in a hotel in Mumbai. But it was because one of us had a foreign passport and it was during covid times, Even after showing all sorts of covid free proof and test and all that. They still refused entry. Our hotel booking app refunded the money. But it was a very rare reason, they were afraid of foreigners and covid at that time. So yes at the end of the day, as long as you dress and look appropriately, I dont think there should be an issue in todays time.
