Cousin Itt has had quite a rejuvenating hair cut. Doesn't itt look awesome 😃 Alrighty, he says, now I have the space to grow some more 😅😍😘😘

I had this planned for last year, so yes.. Hi 😍💐 woohoo!!! maxillaria time! Awesome 👍🏼 if you see some pseudobulbs shrivelling, don't be alarmed, they may do that but it is nothing to be concerned about. They will plump up again when the roots reach the media. Meanwhile, keeping the bracts on the upper bulbs misted and humidity high, there usually is not shrivelling. Great news! keep me posted 👍🏼

Dry climate, 🤔 try a "moss" totem for climbers... 😃 I've used them for some of my mini's but prefer "tree fern" totems. 😊 I'll be interested to see how the "Orchid Ninja" , Nina, method works. 😅 I've also used very small zip ties with some super minis just so as to not break stems or ??? 🤗. That is what I am giving this orchid to see if she will fill out a little around the base and get roots into the pot. I can make a totem pole of hob filter material and have that strapped to the bottom of a pot 👍🏼👍🏼 watch this space in the event that my contraption is not as effective as I am thinking it will be. I really used to like Fiddle Faddle when I was a kid. As an adult, it just tastes fake and I really don't like it. So I don't understand why you had to use the stake at an angle in the pot. Wouldn't it have been possible to attach it to the stake at the desired angle and have the stake upright as normal? I can't believe you chopped Cousin Itt. He was really liking his EMO look with the strands hanging down (like Robert Smith of The Cure). I also can't believe I just saw sphagnum moss.🤯🤣😉
Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! I have no idea what Fiddle Faddle is 😅 we had Goody Goody in Kenya... I like the sound of Fiddle Faddle though. That is a neat and fun name! I placed the stake at an angle because I wanted more of the orchid to be at the level of the media, instead of the end of the rhizome sticking up straight and then having a top heavy orchid for the most part. I am hoping that by it being on the surface of the media like this, that it will grow like my other tenuifolia, in the rectangular pot. I also like the fact that this presentation is more appealing to the eye as opposed to having it stick up straight into the air and just growing upright. 😬 it is true about Cousin Itt. This morning I was told that he was a bit chilly in his nether region and did not appreciate the make over at all. I reassured him that, it is like getting a crew cut, the neck area feels more exposed to the breeze, but it will last only 48 hrs, and then he won't feel it anymore. Besides, I would have been mad at myself if I had snapped off the dangly bits, and not had a plan of action in place. Personally, I am glad that I can see things down there again. The 4-5 garlic clove quantity is for the water infused fungicide treatments / prevention, so... just in case how I am replying, I figured it's best to link the video😬 Oh yes! She was fragrant this time around, even though the light levels were low. I carried her outside on every sunny day and kept my nose in the blooms! Lightly lemon scented, so fresh with a hint of sweet to go with it. It made me think of lemon meringue. Tangy, fresh but sweet. LOVE!! Thank you so so much. I am so happy to see her starting a new root system. Especially how well she made it through her first winter with me 🙌🏼🙏🏼
