He very much wanted to sleep around and I suppose got with her when he really didn't want too. Holly was also bad to him throwing things at him and that, both as bad as each other. She wasn't innocent.

They were both bad for each other, it was a very unhealthy relationship.
Holly was desperate to be loved and Kyle was very disrespectful.
He was single and could do whatever he wanted, but Holly was miserable and they were living in the same house. It was expected she wouldn't be comfortable watching him making out with someone else less than 24 hours after breaking up.
