    This is epic! I've been considering getting one of these. My friend uses one for hiking. I built an underwater camera housing but this would be so much better!

    The best way i found to keep aggresion down is over crowding and no large caves. Give them no territory to fight over. I just have some piles if stones on the very bottom only for the really small fish to hide. Nothing for the larger fish

    Mark, what fish would you recommend go in 55 gallon. I'm thinking some type of mbuna and zebra obliquidens(is that how it's spelled)

  • @CichlidNirvana
    @CichlidNirvana Před 10 lety +1

    Amazing! The GoPro can take some great video. Do you have to mess with a bunch of settings or is it more point and shoot? I can't wait for the scuba footage.

    That could be MY tank.. Same fish... I think and definitely the same substrate. I don't have the large dark rock though.. Beautiful tank. I have smaller ones because they were less expensive. It's good because you can watch em grow but that takes a while.. I should have had the next or maybe 2 sizes up. thanks for sharing. I have a GP aswell.. I should Try this.

  • @Fiddlefarmer86
    @Fiddlefarmer86 Před 10 lety

    Do you have a species list for this tank?

  • @MauriceMccomie
    @MauriceMccomie Před 10 lety

    Oh wow, I love this tank. Your Mbuna always look so peaceful. How do you do it? I've been experimenting with my tank, rearranging the scape, but they still chase each other, sometimes even the entire 4ft of my tank, although my tank is over stocked. I'll keep trying though.

    • @AfricanCichlidHub
      @AfricanCichlidHub  Před 10 lety

      As long as they're not murdering each other, chasing is very common. Understanding their personality comes with hrs upon hrs of watching the tank.

    • @MauriceMccomie
      @MauriceMccomie Před 10 lety

      African Cichlid Hub Well, no deaths, but lots of scratches and bruised lips. There are 1 or 2 nipped fins, but nothing too serious. There's always a flury of movement in my tank, esp after a water change. Do you think adding more rockwork and caves may help?

    • @pantherball559
      @pantherball559 Před 10 lety

      No large caves and overcrowd. Dont give the fish territory to fight over. I only keep rocks on the bottom for the really small fish to hide.

    • @MauriceMccomie
      @MauriceMccomie Před 10 lety

      I hear ya, thats how my tank is now. So I thought I had too little hiding places. Take a look at my latest vids.

      African Cichlid Hub The tank looks great. I am not sure if you noticed but you have an OB who has almost all his tail bitten off. You can see this at 1m13s of the video. I recommend a trip to the hospital tank. Keep up the great work I really enjoy your videos.
