- It's been many months since we wandered Skyrim together, and now it's time to return! Join me for a brand new whispered wander into the subterranean depths of Blackreach, inhabited by the mysterious Dwemer in ages long past. This is the single most-requested location for a wander, so I hope you enjoy! This video contains mild spoilers if you've not played the Skyrim main quest.

---- What's ASMR, and why am I whispering? ----
I whisper in my videos because they're designed to trigger a sensation called ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). ASMR is a very specific feeling that some people experience when they hear certain soft sounds, like whispering and tapping, or see certain visuals, like deliberate hand motions. It's often described as a pleasant tingling in the head and neck, accompanied by a sense of calmness and mild euphoria. Many people watch ASMR videos to help them relax or fall asleep. lowkey i think blackreach is my favorite dungeon. its so different from the other places in skyrim and frankly i think it is the most beautiful place in skyrim by far

This, and the episode where you wandered in and around bloated mans grotto are my favourite episodes of you excellent series. Blackreach is probably one of the most atmospheric and best looking areas in all of Skyrim. It's up there with Solitude, Whiterun and various little pockets of countryside(like bloated mans grotto). Good work man!
This video holds up so well, The ambient music coupled with the whispering is a immediate knockout for me.
Does that mean, we'll get wanderings more often from now on?

+theASMRnerd you should visit the statue of Azura at some point in your wanders. Azura has always been one of my favorite Daedric Princes, and the giant statue of her is magnificent. i've also always loved the iceberg fields of the Sea of Ghosts. they may be void of plant life for the most part, but there are many fascinating ruins among the icebergs.

I sometimes now slowly explore areas in Skyrim that I have never seen before, mostly because of these videos. Thanks. Also, you should really give Requiem - The Role-playing Overhaul a try. It's probably the best mod overhaul right now.
have you ever considered doing ASMR for Oblivion as well? I would love to see what enchanting secrets Cyrodiil has to offer
Yes, I certainly have! I just need to take the time to mod my Oblivion properly, which is a bit of an undertaking. What I may do is check out Beyond Skyrim: Bruma when it releases next month :)
This is my personal favorite video of yours! I love the underground setting of Blackreach with it’s crazy bioluminescent flora, and I love the discussion of Dwemer lore. Really good stuff through and through

+theASMRnerd Once you feel nothing more can be done with your Skyrim series I would strongly recommend doing the same with Morrowind. I know it's older but some of the graphical rework mods are quite impressive.

my favorite locations in this game are the iceberg fields of the Sea of Ghosts, the statue of Azura in the mountains around Winterhold, the volcanic hot springs below Windhelm, the city of Solitude, and then this place, Blackreach. i also enjoy the lost vale you discover in the Dawngaurd dlc, the one where you discover the temple of Auriel, it's a very beautiful location.

+ZachYourSupremeOverlord Haha glad you like it man! You're right, people have been requesting a Blackreach wander for literally years, you among them. The original plan was to connect all my wanders by having each start where the last ended, and I was planning to eventually wander all the way to Blackreach. That was taking way too long though, and I felt that trying to connect them all was really just restricting what I could do. So I said screw it, I'll just do them where I feel like :)
Would be great to see a wander around the south of east march to witness the hot springs and super chilled poachers. If you have the 'expanded towns and cities' mod installed you could make your way from darkwater crossing (the mod adds a pretty neat bathing area you should check it out!) and maybe end up at the gilder sanctuary :) just a thought!

Love Blackreach. I remember hearing about it months after the game released and just had to explore. Spent 2-3 hours down there.
who knew that Skyrim would possess a relaxing part of it after killing everything, also Vulthuryol is a weird dragon, one of the ancient dragons

+Domenic Volpe Thanks! It's not scripted, I improvise the narration. But to make it manageable I usually break the video up into shorter scenes and then I might do a few takes of each scene until I get something I like. Sometimes the first take is good and I use it, but other times it requires a couple of iterations to get it right.

If im not mistaken, i believe this is where you find your elder scroll in the main quest line. if it is i remember doing the puzzle to get the scroll and i just was doing random things then opened it haha

+Niall Robert Nice, congrats on the gaming rig! I've been meaning to host a Google Docs modlist that I keep up to date because lots of people ask, but I just haven't had time to get around to it. Right now I've only really got visual mods installed actually, my Skyrim install is a work in progress. I can tell you that for gameplay mods though, I really enjoy survival stuff like Frostfall and Realistic Needs and Diseases.

Hey ASMRnerd, have you ever thought about doing a let's play of Skyrim? I'd love to see a lore heavy playthrough with the beautiful set of mods you have.
I've thought about it, but I think I'm going to stick to wanders like this for the time being. They allow me to be selective about where I go, and keep the action to a minimum. A full let's play is a much bigger commitment, and I've already got more videos planned than I have time to record xD.

Just wondering, for these skrim wandering episodes, do you find a path to follow and write down a vague script? or just go on a journey and improvise?
Obviously the lore is researched but I mean just like the wolves or falmer you come across, is that planned?
Blackreach always gave me the creeps, Falmer just lurking everywhere. 9/10 times they'd shoot at me at least 3 or 4 times before I could figure out where they were.

Okay so it wouldn't really be wandering. Perhaps a mod review (if you are on PC, which I assume not because of the smooth movements of your camera)
