To all the people saying he should just adjust the truss rod, you can pivot the strings as much as you want off the 2 points but if the points (nut/saddle) are too high to begin with you can old do so much with a truss rod. With electric I shave the nut if it’s too high at the 1st fret. This was actually a great short about acoustics.

Truss rods are to set proper relief in the neck, not to adjust action. Setting relief might effect action but is not the reason to adjust truss rod. Order od operations should be...
      Tune to pitch
      Adjust/set relief
      Retune
      Measure action at the 12th
Adjust action at 12 by sanding saddle/adding shim/making new saddle
Then measure and adjust string height/action at the nut

Saddle needs to be shaved only after first making sure nut slots and truss rod are correct. If you adjust nut and truss after, you will probably have to change your saddle height again afterward and now it might be too low.

These arguments are crazy. If you are a relief is correct then only a quarter turn and either directions should be made to the truss rod. If you cannot obtain the desired action from a quarter turn then you should then make adjustments to the nut and saddle like this guy did. Truss rods are specifically designed to adjust relief in the neck It should only be used to make small adjustments to the action.
