- Buena Park, CA -- Xcelerator is a popular high speed roller coaster ride that hits 82mph in 2.3 seconds. Recorded at Knott's Berry Farm theme park in Buena Park, California.
Xcelerator's powerful hydraulic catapult motor accelerates the train to 82 mph (132 km/h) in 2.3[1] seconds (about 1.33 g). It only uses 157 feet (48 m) of track to launch the train. The twin hydraulic catapult motor achieves a maximum of 10,500 horsepower (7,800 kW) each while accelerating the train. Xcelerator's hydraulic motor system has the mechanical capability of accelerating vehicles to a speed of 117 miles per hour (188 km/h) or more, though it only needs to hit 82.

I went on this on my school field trip. I was so scared to go on. But my friends dragged me to go on it, and I did. By the time I got on the seats I was scared af.
Usually I'm the opposite. I'm scared as fuck when I'm in line but when I get on the seats I feel safe and prepared.

Literally last year I went to Knotts and my cousins dragged me on hangtime I was scared as fuck and I was about to farm lol. But I am going to knotts tomorrow.

The #1 thing I am scared of on roller coasters is acceleration. I'm not the biggest fan of being pressed back on the seat by surprise. My favorite coaster I went on with a launch is Kingda Ka. The acceleration is not bad at all on Kingda Ka! Once the brakes go down that means it's 3 seconds until you launch. Same with other Intamin hydraulic launch coasters.

Unlike the supreme scream, I cant handle that stomach drop. But I'll keep doing it.
When I saw the videos I was like “Oh yeah, I’ll get on this easily. It doesn’t even look THAT fast.. plus it’s a short ride” but once I arrived at knots, that drop is super tall. And one it goes fast!! The launch is at least 100Mph, over all the coaster remains at speed 84 Mph or something.

That's the whole point of roller coasters. To push body to the limits in enduring gravitational forces, and make the experience extremely fun while doing so.

You spelled it right but the ride is technically called "xcelerator". And I went to knotts berry farm when you posted this comment, and I went on all rides except xcelerator. I was saving it for the end of the day but I ended up getting back pain from boomerang. From what I've heard, it's intense but it's not gonna make you ball yours eyes out right after. Go on it, you will feel so good right after. 😄
Honestly, yes, it's very scary, but it's such an awesome ride and it's completely worth it.
