  • My brother was kind enough to gift me Maxpedition Micro and Mini EDC pouches. I quickly put them to use and here I'll give a basic rundown of the pouches as well as an overview of my gear. My loadout will likely change in the future but it's currently pretty good for my needs.
These are perfect for carrying essentials when hiking in the wilderness, whether it's in the mountains or in the urban jungle. Keep your smaller survival gear organized and handy with either of these great pouches!

What do you guys use for your EDC accessories or go bags? Let me know in the comments! I'm pretty happy with these and will probably pick up at least one or two more!

I am in the process of building one. Mine will be very similar to your micro set up. I will have a USB C cable, a micro USB cable, a fast charger, a small power bank, a card holder with an extra metro card and twenty bucks in cash.. That would be it. I will carry it inside my cargo pocket so I do not want extra bulk.

    • @reeseleblanc

@@mr.v3876 sounds great! I like the forethought of keeping the $20 in there. I keep that amount in my wallet in a hidden pouch but I may switch that to the EDC case now!

    • @mr.v3876
      @mr.v3876 Před 2 lety

@@reeseleblanc Yeah. The $20 bucks and the metro card is some sort of insurance is case I lose my wallet that is why I want them separated. The micro will be a back up to my wallet as well as provide energy source to my kindle and phone. I would add an ID and debit card to the back up wallet but they do not really give out extras for those.

Wonderful video sir, you've tailored your EDC to your specific needs (and I believe that this is indeed what it would behoove all of us to do). Everyone is indeed their own individual (with different needs and lifestyles), so it's always great to have tools that compliment our individual needs. For me, the basics always include flashlights 🔦 (both small, and not so small [with 700 lumens or much higher in these last few years]...this is just my preference), blades (of all types), a Leatherman Surge in a Deadskin leather sheath on my left side, and a Victorinox Hercules in my right pocket, and then my EDC bag in the passenger seat to my right where things get really specific...from bushcrafting, to medical, to other areas. This has been my EDC (always...always in the same spot...always) for years, and years....and years. This, works for me, and it is indeed wonderful to know that the tool you need is always...always in its proper spot right when you need it....with no doubts as to weather you may, or may not have it today....thus the everyday carry moniker. I've skipped over some things, but my EDC has been the same for well over twenty-five years, with the Surge finding its home around seventeen years ago, and the Hercules being one of the more recient residents in the last several years. Even though some things change, or may be updated, my carry has pretty much been dialed in for years now. I loved your video, I found it to be very comprehensive and dialed in for your daily needs....rock on my brother...and be well.

Thanks for the video. Have the mini (and fatty) pouches. Used the grab handles on both pouches to secure a bit of paracord around. 👌👍

I’ve dabbled in edc pouches with similar items to what you have in yours. I rarely, if at all, used any of it and I question their value. Sure, you may save the day at some point because you had duct tape in your pouch but those opportunities are increasingly rare unless you’re in an industry that uses duct tape. If you don’t used it somewhat regularly then leave it in the car. In fareness there have been times when I could have used something that I left behind but it is rare.

I kinda agree with you, but everybody should have a different set of items. No point in copying someone else's if it won't have an utility for you.
I myself carry a flash drive configured to install windows (the software), because I know how to do that and it is not unusual for a friend or family member to ask me to do it.
But I don't really have an use for a knife, so just the blade of my Gerber dime is more than enough for me.

Cool kit! Just an observation, you can save some room in the pack and wrap para cord around the little handle with an easy to untie knot... mine has 12 feet.
Also, the fire rods are ferrocerium where it makes the sparks. The back side of the second one is in fact made of magnesium... but that you shave off and ignite with the ferro rod from the other side.

I love the Maxpedition pouches I have micro and mini as well. I keep one in my EDC backpack, and one in a fanny pack (I wear it as a sling pack) for when I wanna go more minimalist.

Great review but I think you have to redo the review. I did some research and most people comparing the two are saying that the size difference between the "mini" and the "micro" is not that great. I believe that what you have there is a "micro" (smallest) and an "EDC" (largest) version of the pocket organizer. You are missing the medium-sized pocket organizer which is the "mini." I mean no disrespect with this comment as I appreciate your work. I just want to improve the info we share as preppers.
You can see a German comparison here.

Thanks for checking out the video Irfan! If I'm understanding you right you're saying that the bag Choice needs to be based on what you carry? I will agree with that. For example, my flip knife as well as my regular flashlight won't fit in these pouches but I carry them either in my pocket or on a belt pouch.
