  • Thanks for watching! Watch this video in the highest quality possible for the best viewing experience! Take a nice smooth ride on a portion of Miways longest express route, route 109 Meadowvale Express. Route 109 is by far the busiest and longest express route miway has, running from TTC’s Islington subway station in the east, to Miways Meadowvale town centre bus terminal in the west. The 109 covers all 13 transit way stations, and uses Both 60 and 40 foot Express buses. On this ride, we rode a portion of the route starting outside of meadowvale town centre, and ending at Eglinton.
    1006 is a 2010 Orion VII 3G EPA10 BRT Diesel bus, and is part of an order of 20 units (1001-1020). These units were the first buses to be delivered with the MiExpress livery, or even the Miway livery to begin with. They are powered with a Cummins 8.9L 280HP EPA 2010 Clean Diesel engine (ISL9), and a ZF Automatic 6 speed transmission (6AP1400B). Unit 1020 uses a Voith D864.5 Transmission. These units are rather slow and lack power, but sure can take a beating. This one in particular sounded extra nice, as you can kinda hear the ZF transmission at times where as on other units it’s rather quiet. They feature 4ONE Aries seats, and chargers throughout the interior of the bus.

    Watching this makes me want to go back to Highland Park, Illinois and ride Pace's Orion Hybrid buses again.

      That’s not a hybrid.

      @@ontario_transit This not a hybrid bus? I thought this was a hybrid bus just, the way how the roof is made. I barely know things about Orion buses because I barely been on them. The only Orion bus I've been on most of the time is Pace's Orion VI's which is now retired, and I only been on their rare fleet of Orion hybrids only one time.

      @@dangelohartley5977this bus is just a diesel, it has the BRT body style because it’s an express bus. It’s powered by a Cummins ISL9 & a ZF 6AP1400B

    How come unit 1020 uses a voith transmission unlike the other units?

  • @j_8rzd138
    @j_8rzd138 Před 2 lety

    I feel like the ones using Voith 4 speed are much more powerful, they can hit up to 110km/h, I can hear their engine working under high RPMs when running on the highway, but the one with ZFs are really powerless

      They’re both shit. The Voith ones are better, but not by far

    Garbage, no wonder orion went out of business in Mississauga. The body and suspension on these things rattle around terribly. The transmission is very rough and jerky to.

      The good news is Orion buses had defunct, which means after these buses are retired there will be no more Orion buses

      Yeah great job making some points there…blame the ZF transmission that’s used in every other bus type on Orion
