Shaoxing, China, December 7, 2019 - Imoco Volley Conegliano prevailed against Vakifbank Istanbul 3-2 (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 21-25, 23-21) to secure a spot in the final of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship on Saturday at the Shaoxing Olympic Sports Centre.
Imoco Volley Conegliano coach Daniele Santarelli: “We did an incredible job and I am happy. This could be the best ever match of my life. It’s amazing when you are facing such a strong opponent then win 3-2.”
Vakifbank Istanbul coach Giovanni Guidetti: “I’m very proud of my players. They played an amazing match. We fought to the best of our abilities. Gunes was incredible. We are all glad that we know how to play in this kind of situation and to keep fighting in every moment.”
Vakifbank Istanbul player Gabi Guimaraes: “I feel sad. Our goal was to be in the final but unfortunately, we couldn’t make it. My teammates played well and did an amazing job, but I didn’t pass the last ball well to my teammates, which is upsetting.”

Because she’s a reliable scorer, when in doubt go to your number one hitter that can sure win points.
It's like complaining about Michael Jordan always taking the shot.
It's because in a tight match, the setters go for their high percentage hitters to make sure it's gonna be their point.
You gotta give it to Hill's consistency at the serving line and Egonu's attacking. But overall, it wasn't just an Egonu show, it was a team effort.

It’s true. You could be the best hitter in the world but it wouldn’t matter if you have bad passes or bad sets. It’s not like basketball where one person could make 30 baskets in a game, volleyball is a team game

It’s still a team effort. Eguno is for scoring, Hill and De Genaro are doing amazing digs at the back, the middles are doing good job too for blockings , plus the setter doing amazing job. THATS A TEAM EFFORT

I would love to see all the Egonu haters try and spike like her. “vOllEy bALL iS a TEaM spOrt” exactly. Which is why she’s playing with a team. People acting like she’s hogging the ball, or not relying on her team mates at all. If that were the case, she wouldn’t be playing period. Y’all mad cuz she’s just that good. And the one time she got to receive (9:09) it was over a bleacher. Which is not the best representation of her receiving skills at all. Try running for a ball and getting it back in the air without catching it, over a bunch of people and sending it backwards. Hmm..

all the players of IVC worked hard it started from the sure serves of Hill with great spiking talent of Egonu from then on everyone contributed for the win good digging, blocking, serves and spiking. it was so great to watch this great comeback not every team can do that. congratulations.

The greatest comeback from volleyball history, goes to Brazil vs Russia semifinals in Athens 2004. Brazil was up 2-1 in sets and leading in the fourth set 24-19. Russia came back...took it to fifth set, eventually winning the match. Same thing in men's gold medal in London 2012...Brazil vs Russia 😩😩.

Ba ba That one from the Men’s side ..but on the female side ,I’d take the one from the Seoul Olympic Games, CHINA vs Peru..in the 5th set ,China was 14-9 and with the service ....and then Peru saved 5 match points until they tied up to 14 and won the game and the match..
So as the 2020 olympic Qualifier between Korean and Russia. Korea is up 2 sets to none and 9-16 in 3rd sets but Russia woke up and won the game.

En el 2006, en el mundial de mayores voley femenino, en en el quinto set, Perú iba perdiendo 14 a 10 ante Serbia y finalmente se fueron hasta el 23 - 21 ganando el equipo europeo. Fue un partido largo y emocionante.
Last set was so wrong. She was already blocked on the left side. Blockers stayed on her, setter still fed it to same hitter. She should've given the ball to the other side or pipe
You can’t really blame them after playing 5 full sets and at the max of exhaustion while also being a very tight close end game..

Vakifbank is also attacking...somebody is defending them too good and someone receives perfectly...someone(Hill) is serving with zero errors...all these shows that this is a team play. Egonu may be a superstar but saying she only did it means you don't know what volleyball is, people who say that probably don't even know the difference between an outside spiker and opposite 😂 Egonu is an extraordinary opposite, and the rest do defence like a poetry.
