I finish painting a full army of my Rohan for the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game, whilst completing the iconic North Coast 500 Roadtrip, and climbing Ben Nevis.
More wonderful painting experiences in the world of Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings Range. This trip hit different. I really hope you enjoy.

Well New Zealand is Middle Earh now that the movies were filmed there, but I can totally see how magical Scotland looks!
I would just Like to like to say that I really enjoy your channel. The combination of minis and the good old out doors is just the best.
Keep it up. I've been watching now for a little while and particularly like the mesbg stuff, having just got back into lotr and am completing my Lorien and Dunlendings armies simultaneously (not recommended), but having a great time.
Just as a side note, New Zealand might have taller mountains, windier windswept bits and vastly more majestic sweeping vistas, but it will never be the place that Tolkien intended as Middle Earth. England and the British Isles were, and would still be, his far green country. 👍🏻

Amazing mate if I'd know you where coming up north I would have shown you around caithness and all the great forests and hidden gems . The campsite you stayed in gills near John o groats is 2 minutes down the road from me. I am a massive mesbg fan and have a great love for middleearth.

Awesome video as always mate. Firstly do you compose all of the backing tracks on your videos? (if so FUCK YEAH!) it’s one of my favourite features of your videos. Secondly here’s a fun fact - Scotland and New Zealand are polar opposites in terms of magnetic true north. I know this because New Zealand is one of the only places to successfully introduce a foreign salmon (from Scotland) so maybe they are both middle earth… we just have the upside down version. Can’t wait for part two

Also it sounds like a childhood well spent or at least it has now paid dividends. I was literally searching for synth lotr covers and came up with nothing so it makes sense that they are original. Which makes the copyright strike you copped on your corsairs video even more infuriating.

This is just such a wonderful way of embellishing the hobby experience. I remember exploring the Argyll forests as a wee boy imagining I was in Fangorn, and leaping over the moors thinking of the Riddermark. So great to see you doing the same, and finding the same joy in it.

Funny/Amazing/Heartfelt/Genuine/Exciting.... the list goes on, that's how I describe this channel. Pure genius, Perhaps one day you could visit Tolkiens stomping ground around the West Midlands. Worcestershire looks very much like The Shire. Can't wait to watch more,

@@BattleCamperHome Yep I am in North Worcestershire and get to enjoy the rolling fields & hills that resemble The Shire. When I pass Menithwood I always wonder if Tolkien had visited, as it sounds very Middle Earth. Then you have The Malvern Hills which he definitely used to visit. If you are in the area let us know.

Amazing video mate, the trek to the beach was 100% worth it. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on what you bring to do 'hobbying on the go', I'd like to go paint at a park but don't want to bring my entire hobby desk. Would be great to hear some expert advice of mobile miniature painting :D

Can't claim to be an expert haha, but I think the hints I can give is:
- bring a watertight water pot, a chewing gum tub is excellent: they have a strong seal and a little lip to prevent splashes. They sometimes have a rim in the lid that collects a little water which makes mixing it easy.
- Manage your expectations about how much you'll get done. I tend to find it works best when I pick one or two colours, or a distinct feature, and plan only to get that bit done because it always goes slower outdoors. Once you know what you're going to do, mentally paint through the steps in your head so you know what paints to bring. it SUCKS when you arrive on location and you've missed a critical paint!
- generally don't plan to paint fine details outside. Unless the light is just right, it'll be tough to see. Its best to paint larger areas, or do washes or simply edge hihglighting.
- Think about how you'll be able to change water. If there's no source nearby, you'll need to bring a big bottle for water changes!
Otherwise, I'd say pack as light as you can. Try not to bring unnecessary extras. hope this helps, let us know how you get on!
