Newdigate Garden Railway Open Day 2023 4K

After several abortive attempts to run this open day due to heavy rain, Michael and his wife finally were able to go ahead at the end of July 2023 with various East Midlands Area Group members attending along with neighbours keen to see what the odd noises from the other side of the fence were actually about!.
This latest incarnation of the Newdigate railway is a typical "plank on post" construction using fence posts and planks recovered from a large area of decking inherited from the previous house owner. Michael had an operators pit dug alongside the steam up bay to make loco servicing less of a strain on the back, and there are several step over blocks to assist access to areas such as the shed.
This is a great example of how 16mm narrow gauge can bring live steam trains to a relatively small modern garden whilst leaving plenty of room for other activities.
It was quite windy, but the DJI Mini 3 Pro from Brock Air gives us an overview and Brock Rail No.7 (Roundhouse NDM6 "A. S. Nipper" in BR large logo livery) takes a GoPro Hero 9 camera on a couple of trips around the line.
