Not only has Tim learned when to use his low growl, he also uses different vocal techniques than he did 10 years ago. Tim has said in interviews that he would get bored just singing jn the basement all the time. He strategically uses some in their live shows.
I like the way Tim can just bust in like "DADDY'S HOME" when he wants to. If you haven't seen it yet, "Givin' Up On You" has Tim staying modestly in the background, but he's singing notes that are easier to find on the Richter scale than the standard musical scale.
OFCOURSE!! The first thing I said was "yes!! Jeffrey East!!" As far as the low notes with Tim, he sprinkles them in where they will serve the song best. Jeff over uses the lows so they really lose how special it really is!
This song is so much fun! Two things I've noticed....1) when Rob sings, Austin looks at him and smiles as though he's saying "Rob, you're voice is so good" and 2) I love it when Austin and Rob do a duet together. I would be very happy if they made a cd together. They sound so awesome together!
1. Can we talk about Rob rockin' that red suit! Looks so good on him! 2. Tim's note yes but at that moment...is it me or does he look a little like Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark at that moment? 3. I love how the girl throws a pair of glasses at the camera and the guys don't need the glasses anymore and neither do we. Sharing the love makes the viewer see things brighter. At least that's how I took it. Love this video.
I want crazy? I don't need glasses for that, just Home Free is enough. This sounds great again!! How nice is it that it has become a completely different version than the Sing Off, with Rob (and Austin) in the lead. The video was so much fun too. The first somewhat grumpy faces that completely brighten up. And how beautiful that red suit looks on Rob and later without glasses. 😍What a handsome cuddly bear 🥰. I didn't see the glasses as "rose colored glasses" which has a negative connotation of looking at the world unrealistically, but rather as "through the eyes of love". They're red because they're hearts, not because they're rose-colored. It doesn't make sense to basically say "Looking at the world unrealistically makes everything better."

Not a fan of any bass singer who uses subharmonics. It just sounds like someone burping low. And a lot of them overuse it. That is why I prefer Tim Foust, Avi Kaplan & Elliott Robinson. None of them use subharmonics.
