Korets: a city of ancient temples. Ruins of Korets Castle

Korets. A small, cozy city spread out in the vast expanses of the Rivne region, near the banks of the Korchik River. The city of Korets was first mentioned in the Ipatiev Chronicle in 1150 under the name Korchesk. The main architectural and historical attraction is the ruins of the Korets Castle, founded in the 14th century by Prince Fyodor Ostrozhsky. In the XV-XVII centuries, Korets was the patrimony of the Russian-Lithuanian princes Koretsky from the Gediminovich dynasty. During their reign, the castle was rebuilt in stone.
The city is famous for the Holy Trinity Convent (1620), which operated even during the USSR (two churches, a bell tower, cells, the grave of Countess Anna Andro de Langeron, glorified by Pushkin in the poem “I loved you...”). Also preserved are the Church of St. Anthony (1533) with paintings from the 18th century, St. Nicholas Church (1834) and other churches. There is a local history museum.

Спасибо Вам за интересный ролик. Советую посетить Тростянец Сумской области. Очень интересный городок, по крайней мере был. Достаточно много достопримечательностей и до войны был достаточно ухоженный городок
