- 🔴 "Peștera de la Vadu Crișului este una din cele mai cunoscute și studiate peșteri din Romania.
Peștera se afla în județul Bihor, comuna Vadu Crișului în defileul Șuncuiuș - Vadu Crișului la 50 m de râul Crișul Repede, pe versantul nordic al Munților Pădurea Craiului.
A fost descoperită de către Czaran Gyula și cei doi colaboratori, Karl Handt și Veress Istvan, la 10 noiembrie 1903.
Descoperirea s-a făcut prin dinamitarea versantului ca urmare a unor bănuieli că deasupra cascadei Vadu Crișului ce poate fi văzută de pe calea ferată s-ar afla o peșteră de mari dimensiuni. Contele Odon Zichy pe a cărui proprietate se află peștera a dispus amenajarea sa cu podețe și scări de lemn astfel încât în 1905 a fost deschisă spre vizitare fiind considerată la aceea vreme cea mai frumoasa peșteră din Europa. Prin peșteră curge o apă care la 40 m de intrare formează o cascadă de aproximativ 6 m. Stalactite și stalagmite pot fi observate pe toată lungimea peșterii, unele formațiuni au denumirea de Mormântul lui Mahomed, Vulturul Alb, Adam și Eva, Barba lui Mahomed chiar și Albă ca Zăpada și cei Șapte Pitici. Peștera nu poate fi vizitată în totalitate, o parte fiind rezervată cercetărilor speologice. Peștera adăpostește cea mai bogată faună cavernicolă din România. Aici sunt specii de melci, viermi, insecte si crustacee. Peștera fiind atât de mare și cu galerii multe este bine populată de liliacul cu botul in formă de potcoavă. Originea apei este Izvorul Bătrânului care după un traseu scurt se pierde în pachetul de calcare."

The discovery was made by blasting the slope as a result of some suspicions that above the Vadu Crișului waterfall that can be seen from the railway, there was a large cave. Count Odon Zichy, on whose property the cave is located, ordered its arrangement with wooden bridges and stairs so that in 1905 it was opened for visiting, being considered at that time the most beautiful cave in Europe. Through the cave flows water that at 40 m of entrance forms a waterfall of about 6 m. Stalactites and stalagmites can be seen along the entire length of the cave, some formations are called the Tomb of Muhammad, the White Eagle, Adam and Eve, Muhammad's Beard even Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The cave cannot be visited in its entirety, part of which is reserved for speleological research. The cave is home to the richest cave fauna in Romania. Here are species of snails, worms, insects, and crustaceans. The cave is so big and with many galleries, it is well populated by the horseshoe-shaped bat with a snout. The origin of the water is Izvorul Bătrânului which after a short route is lost in the limestone package.

Waw!!! Superba ! Stalactite, stalagmite , apa , melci , fauna bogata ! Frumoasa povestea pesterii , nu stiam ca la 1905 era cea mai celebra in Europa ! Iar cascada aceea de vis , cu raul ...multumim! 👍
Din păcate nu m-am descurcat cu instalația de iluminat. Când ajungeam noi, se stingea lumina.
Am reușit doar poze, cu telefonul. Ce-am filmat a fost inutilizabil. Ghidul însoțește grupul doar in weekend...cred.
